Leftist Protesters Still Rewriting History

March 31, 2007

Anyone who has reached adult age has heard of returning Viet Nam Veterans being spat upon by angry leftists opposed to our involvement in the war in Viet Nam. To the best of my memory those disgusting actions helped lead to the slogan used today of “I support the Troops, but not the war.”

In a shoddily researched and written article, (also available as a book authored by the same author) Viet Nam Veteran and member of the anti-war group, Viet Nam Veterans Against the War, and professor of sociology at Holy Cross College, Jerry Lembcke makes the claim of “pro-war demonstrators spitting on anti-war activists” and “In their retelling over the years, the oral accounts of these incidents could easily get reinterpreted and inverted and made into stories about activists spitting on veterans.” The Spitting Image: Myth, Memory, and the Legacy of Vietnam.

Lembcke also makes the claim of “stories of this type didn't surface until about ten years after the end of the war,” leading some vitriolic leftist posters on the Snopes.com discussion boards to declare “Spitting on returning Vietnam vets” an Urban Legend.

In rebuttal to Lembcke’s claim of stories did not surface until the mid 1980’s, archived on the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth discussion forum, in the “Resources and Research” forum, are 12 jpg copies of newspaper articles dated as far back as 1967 mentioning returning Veterans being spat upon.

I will be the first to admit that not every returning Viet Nam Veterans was actually spat upon, physically, but Lembcke’s claim that it was us and supporters of the Viet Nam War actually spitting on the leftist protesters, and that there is no evidence of any spitting incidents prior to the mid 1980’s, in a paper and book written in the late 1990’s, ranks as low as does the carefully written and rehearsed, lying testimony given to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on April 22, 1971 by failed presidential candidate, John ‘F’in Kerry (who I am told also served in Viet Nam).

Curiously enough, Lembcke ends his article with, “By challenging myths like that of the spat-upon Vietnam veteran, we reclaim our role in the writing of our own history, the construction of our own memory, and the making of our own identity.”

Fast forward to March 17, 2007, when today’s anti-war leftists planned and held another ‘march’ in Washington D.C. in opposition to today’s War on Terror, brought on by the horrific attack we suffered in New York City and Washington D.C. on September 11, 2001. Fed up with taking it on the chin, Viet Nam Veterans and others formed Gathering of Eagles to be present near the anti-war march and to prevent the leftists from vandalizing the Viet Nam Memorial, as they recently had U.S. Capital Steps and as I listed in an earlier post, Cindy Sheehan Labels Viet Nam Veterans “Rightist Haters of America”.

Obviously startled to see themselves outnumbered by some 3 to 1, leftists again start their revision of history, ala Jerry Lembcke.

In letters written into the Washington Post, in response to their article Veterans, Others Denounce Marchers, we read comments like, “What I don't understand -- and I don't understand this generally about divisions in the world today -- is the hostility and lack of respect for the dignity and humanity of the opposite side. From what I could see, the vast majority of the name-calling, obscenities and threats came from the counter-protesters.” And, “the people who lined Memorial Bridge were overwhelmingly white and older. What they lacked in numbers they made up in righteous anger. Their shallow discourse was symbolized by one woman's decision to assault parade walkers with horse manure. Her act was surely premeditated; she wore a glove to keep her hands clean.” Protest and Counter-Protest

The media coverage and Police presence that day was unusually large, as would be expected. Still, the only “evidence” of such conduct is the claim made by the letter writers. The Washington Post did, however, post a video showing at about 1:50 into it, a middle aged woman, probably a 1960’s leftist holdover, spit on one of the Veterans.

In response to the leftists letters, Spokesman and D.C. Coordinator for the Gathering of Eagles, Kristenn Taylor disputed leftist claims of the misconduct of counter-protesters.

In today’s Washington Post, another leftist wrote in saying, “I step forward to assure Mr. Taylor that it is true: I was hit by the pro-war manure. Thankfully, because of its high fiber content, it fell off and left no residue.” Magic manure? Again, no evidence of any kind, just the claim of some type of ‘magic manure’ that leaves no trace after hitting you. I’m not a farmer, but I know better than that!

In response and applying the same methodology used by Lembcke, I left the comment;

“Are we to blindly accept Ms. Oatways account? How can we? When we Viet Nam Veterans state we were spit at or otherwise mistreated, we are told we are making it up, repeating an Urban Legend or just plain lying.”

“We are told to produce news accounts and when we did, they are denied and Police Reports are demanded of spitting. I place the same stipulation on Ms. Oatway. Or at least, a lab report on the manure she claims struck her of its fiber content so as to leave no seeable evidence of the hit.”

“A careful examination of the claim shows me just where the manure is actually coming from.”

Leftists have been defaming and libeling us Viet Nam Veterans for nearly 40 years now. When we stood together again to show opposition to their undermining our Military Commanders, President and demoralizing the Troops again, they slander us further by claiming we throw horse manure on them!

With the heavy Police and media presence for their anti-war march that day and the counter-protest by Viet Nam Veterans; surely there would be evidence. If nothing more, there should be the jacket worn by the leftists who claim being hit by manure. Even if 'magic' to leave no stain, there would be the smell, if you could tell the difference from one wearing it.

It is quite evident to me that this time, instead of waiting 30 years, leftists are "writing their own history" from the start.

Democrats Shirk Accountability

Lawmakers fault vets care under Bush

Acting Army surgeon general airs concerns about morale, funding

Updated: 5:47 p.m. PT March 27, 2007

WASHINGTON - The Army’s new acting surgeon general said Tuesday she is concerned about long-term morale because the military lacks money to hire enough nurses and mental health specialists to treat thousands of troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

“When the original plans were made, we did not take into consideration we could be in a long war,” said Maj. Gen. Gale Pollock. She became surgeon general earlier this month after Kevin Kiley was forced to resign in a scandal over poor treatment of war-wounded at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

“We have not been able to do the hiring,” Pollock told a House Armed Services subcommittee.

*snip*

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said a first step is to provide the VA and Pentagon the money they need to treat problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. A Senate bill that provides $122 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan includes millions to build polytrauma centers and hire new claims processors.

“I’ve just about had it with administration officials who assure us everything is being taken care of,” Murray said. “I know you work hard, but we are going to judge you by the results you get for our veterans, and we’re going to hold you accountable.”

And, Ms. Murray, where have you been since you got into the Senate? Where was your outrage last week as fellow Democrats in the House added some $20 billion in vote-buying pork, including $74 million for peanut storage, $25 million for spinach growers, $283 million for dairy farmers and not one single dime for Veterans care or Military Hospitals?

Personally, I've about had it with aggrandizing Democrats who never lifted a finger, who undermine our President and Troops in harm's way and have the gall to complain about accountability.

John Murtha chimes in from an email recently received,
“As a veteran I cannot express how I felt when I read about the horrific conditions at Walter Reed Army Hospital. It dishonors our brave men and women's' sacrifice to expose them to such horrific conditions. We are acting to immediately improve conditions at Walter Reed and other VA hospitals around the country. But those who are responsible must be held accountable,” adding, “The fact is the conditions at Walter Reed are only the tip of the iceberg -- from day one the Bush Administration has cut funding from veterans programs.”

That last part is a blatant Bold Faced LIE, and Murtha knows it. Under Bush the V.A. budget has increased 27%. That is hardly a ‘cut.’ A graph from the Senate showing VA spending into 2008 may be seen at Clear Commitment to Veterans.

Just a couple weeks ago, Murtha said,
“I routinely visit our military hospitals, as does Congressman Bill Young and his wife, Beverly, and I am always inspired by those who have sacrificed so much. Over the past few months, I have personally visited with our wounded at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. From my many visits to Walter Reed in particular, I can tell you that the medical staff there is second to none. During these visits I always make sure that I ask the question, “Is there anything you need?”

With all these “personal visits,” where was Murtha’s outrage before two reporters made known the conditions in Building 18, off post from Walter Reed? How did John Murtha miss “the horrific conditions at Walter Reed Army Hospital?”

Don’t forget, this is the same Murtha who was accusing our Marines of cold-blooded murder even before they were investigated.

Democrats smell blood. They fooled the public into returning them to power in Congress in 2006 and they will now say and do almost anything to ensure their ‘putsch’ to total control of the country and establishing the Socialist ‘nirvana’ that has failed everywhere else, but not before causing much harm to the countries economy and citizens.

Wake up, America, while you still have a few liberties left.

A Sad Week For America

March 25, 2007

This past week has been a sad one for America. Democrats in the House have shown their steady and constant disdain for our Troops by not only stuffing a spending bill for funding them with excessive pork, but actually passing it by a 218-212 vote, pretty much along party lines.

Having the bill heavily laden with pork isn’t the main objection, though, it also contains just what our enemies desire, a date for them to wait on for our Troops to once again be forced to accept defeat in their Victory and allow the enemy to waltz in and force another country struggling for freedom to be turned into an oil rich terrorist training camp.

Any fool knows when we broadcast a date we intend to throw in the towel; the enemy will just inflict casualties and wait for us to leave so they can step in. Democrats complain of an “open-ended war.” As far as our enemies are to know, our commitment must be “open-ended.” Democrats, as expressed on today’s Fox News Sunday by Dianne Feinstein, see it as, “A timetable, I believe, is, in fact, in order.”

In the meantime, more Troops have signed on at Appeal For Courage, begging for support from Congress, and being ignored!

Mediocre actor Sean Penn, known for his Jeff Spicoli character in the movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, drew heavy applause yesterday at a Town hall meeting in Oakland, Ca. with the statement, “take your war and shove it.” It should be noted that Spicoli, er, Penn never served in the Military, much less fought for someone else’s freedom. Penn, son of Leo Penn, who during the McCarthy era, was called before the Un-American Activities Committee, refused to name names and was branded a Communist and blacklisted, also became known as Baghdad Sean for his own Un-American acts of visiting Saddam Hussein’s Iraq as we geared up for War and opposing the removal of Saddam. Penn/Spicoli also was sighted in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, desperately bailing a severely overloaded boat (he forgot to put in the transom plug) filled with photographers, agents and press personnel there with him to film his efforts at rescuing victims of the hurricane. This led one bystander to inquire, "How are you going to get any people in that thing?"

Sean Penn is the last person I would ever listen to about conducting a war!

Last weekend was a banner weekend, even though the hard drive in my computer went south and I have been without a computer all week. The big anti-war protest in D.C. turned into a bust, as expected numbers didn’t show up, not even Hanoi/Baghdad Jane Fonda. What protesters were met with was a ratio of about 3 to 1 of counter protesters known as the Gathering of Eagles.

True to fashion of the left, protests were scheduled across the nation in the more leftist cities. San Francisco had theirs and not to be outdone, so did Portland, Oregon. Not content with opposing the war and demanding the impeachment of George W. Bush, a group from the Portland, Oregon protest burned a soldier in effigy while burning an upside down American Flag. One protester, apparently not content with the burning, pulled down his pants in front of women and children and defecated on a burning U.S. flag, eliciting cheers from some members of the crowd. In reporting this, the Portland Tribune headlined the acts as Rudeness mars peace message. Rudeness?

Leftist Democrat protesters can be seen and heard in the video at You Tube of this incident, Portland Effigy. Protesters can be heard chanting, “Bye bye GI, in Iraq you’re gonna die” and “Build a bonfire, Build a bonfire, Put the soldiers on the top. Put the fascists in the middle, and, we'll burn the fucking lot."

The 19 year-old college student, who took photos of the protest, including the burning in effigy of the soldier, says of right winged pundits displaying her photos, "They're twisting my pictures and misrepresenting what happened on that day."

We also had the latest Non-scandal scandal of the Bush administration firing some Federal Prosecutors. We were subjected to unsubstantiated insinuations of they were fired for investigating Republicans, even though Duke Cunningham is serving 8 years in prison for his crimes. We hear demands for congressional hearings, Presidential advisors testifying under oath, in an obvious attempt of creating another phony perjury trial. We hear cries of political firings and every denigrating thing imaginable from Democrats, except just what law was violated. Understandably, Bush refuses to kow tow to their demands.

A couple weeks ago, Democrats seemed to suddenly discover some problems at Walter Reed Army Hospital and some V.A. hospitals and expressed outrage, even though they admitted to either not visiting them or had visited them and not seen the problems. HR 1591 was stuffed with $74 million for peanut storage, $25 million for spinach growers, $283 million for dairy farmers, all total some $20 billion in vote-buying pork of the kind they campaigned against last year. What was not included was a single dime to address anything they were complaining about at Walter Reed!

Although sad, the week wasn’t a total loss for America. We at least had the L.A. Times inform us that Barack Obama, Presidential hopeful and thorn in the side of Saint Hillary, is the “Magic Negro.”

Cinch down your safety belts. We have nearly two more years of this and undoubtedly, it is going to get much worse.

Three forceful Neo-Con supporting voices worry Impeach For Peace

March 18, 2007
Received in my email last evening was this email sent out by the worrisome leftists at the site Impeach for Peace, known for their salivating, wishing and praying for impeachment of President George W. Bush over any trumped up reason they can conjure.

That being said, as I am one of the “three forceful Neo-Con supporting voices” who had the audacity to challenge the ‘dream world of impeachment at any cost’ found at this Neo-Com website, I now exercise my right to respond.

“This is going out to everyone who posted on the following thread on our news blog:

http://impeachforpeace.org/impeach_bush_blog/?p=479

Just this week we have received confirmation that Valerie Plame was an active agent as confirmed bythe current U.S. Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (commonly: Assistant National Security Advisor)Stephen Hadley himself when she was 'outed'.

The potentially treasonous war-time 'outing' of Plame was a concerted, conscious effort by multiple members of the Bush Administration - as Libby Trial testimony, and a graphic submitted to the current Congressional CIA Leak Investigation clearly reveals:

http://impeachforpeace.org/impeach_bush_blog/?p=709

This after four years of incessant Neo-Con loyalist and covert employee ( 'troll' ) chatter that she simply had a desk job and that it was common knowledge that she was CIA 'around town'. Trace back who has been pushing that lie and you can easily see whose loyalty is to party, power and profit over truth, justice and the best interests of our national security.”

I find it not only laughable, but also pitiful that their “new evidence” consists of a chart used by a heavily partisan commission to create a scandal that not only doesn’t exist, but also never did. After a lengthy investigation by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald ostensibly designed to find anything to bring down the Bush administration, the one and only charge able to be brought was a charge of “perjury” against vice-President Cheney’s Chief of Staff, ‘Scooter’ Libby. This due to Libby contradicting himself in subsequent testimony before a Grand Jury, obviously due to poor memory. Had he invoked the Clintonian rule of testimony, “I don’t recall,” “I have no memory,” or “I don’t remember,” there couldn’t have been any charges at all. However, being forthright and attempting to give the Grand Jury as much information as he could recall, a trumped up charge of “perjury” was used to try and convict him before an obviously biased jury, who afterwards stated they wanted Karl Rove or vice-President Cheney. An obvious miscarriage of justice.

As to Ms. Plame’s claims of “being outed,” leading her to dramatically state, "I felt like I had been hit in the gut," apparently S.P. Fitzgerald disagrees as he states, “I do not expect to file any additional charges," adding "We're all going back to our day jobs." Don’t forget, after over two years of probing, NO ONE WAS CHARGED WITH ANY “OUTING.”

It has been the claim that she was “outed” in retaliation for her husband, Joe Wilson’s July 6, 2003 op-ed What I Didn’t Find in Africa in the New York Times. Left unexplained in this contrived scandal, is Richard Armitage’s telling her name and relationship to Wilson BEFORE that July 6, 2003 op-ed was published. Of course, the admission by Armitage doesn’t satisfy the left because the truth reveals there was no deliberate “outing” of Ms. Plame, just a State Department official talking too much.

Disturbing is that since S.P. Fitzgerald declared CIA leak investigation was now inactive, is the Democrat party’s Henry Waxman convening a Kangaroo Commission hearing into a closed matter. Equally disturbing is the revelation from Rep. Tom Davis (R. Va.) of the limitations placed on questioners by the Democrat party, ostensibly due to CIA secrecy concerns. Ironic given that the Democrat party does not share that concern when it comes to the New York Times publishing Security Secrets to the world during wartime.

Most peculiar in Plame’s ‘testimony’ before Waxman’s contrived kangaroo commission hearing, beyond the question of whether she was properly placed under oath, is her admission to Representative Tom Davis (R. Va.), in spite of her numerous claims of being “covert,” the Intelligence Identities Protection Act did not apply to her.

Victoria Toensing’s Testimony also showed her status did not fall under the act. Victoria Toensing, you recall, helped draft the Intelligence Identities Protection Act.

For all the media hype of Plame being ‘silent’ about this matter over the past 4 years, just how ‘silent’ was she with a 7 figure book deal, motion picture deal in the works, requesting donations online for their “legal support trust (neither she nor her husband are charged with anything, yet), allowing Vanity Fair Magazine to publish the article “Double Exposure” about her and her husband, complete with a full color photo of her and her husband, launching a very public lawsuit and posing for Time Magazine in her pajamas?

If that is their idea of “silent,” I’d love to see their idea of “covert.”

Plame also reluctantly admitted to belonging to the Democrat party during all of this. Previously, it was revealed that Joe Wilson was advising John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. It makes one wonder about the involvement and sincerity of both of them in this so called “outing.”

“We at ImpeachforPeace see no coincidence in three forceful Neo-Con supporting voices converged on our blogsite Press Release for today's March on the Pentagon leading up to Monday's visits with members of Congress.”

And they shouldn’t. A problem with putting up a Public Blogsite, even if in an obscure corner of the internet, is ‘riff raff’ conservatives are liable to drop in and counter the leftist bovine scatology with some truths.

“Nice to know that we are a threat to your lies.”

I love good comedy. However, if “ImpeachforPeace” thinks they will bring peace should they succeed, they are more deluded than I feared. If they wanted to “Impeach” some terrorists, maybe they could accomplish something.

“Another lie, as put forth in the same blog by 'Kateri' - that Muslims, Iraqis and Iranians are hateful, evil, sinister villains hellbent on the destruction of all things American is also revealed to be a falsehood below:”

A pure canard. While there are some who oppose all of Islam (inconveniently from all aspects of the Political Spectrum) most see the difference between mainstream Islam and the radical elements comprising today’s Jihadist movements, terrorists. If the intent of ImpeaceforPeace in this prevarication is to deny terrorism exists, they need only look to 4 Decades of Worldwide Terrorism to see what the small percentage of Islam that constitutes Terrorists have wreaked upon their fellow man.

President George W. Bush is the first U.S. President, the first World Leader, to finally stand up to terrorists, to take the fight back to them and for that, the likes of ImpeachforPeace castigate him.

How many more innocent people of the world will have to die before the rest of the world sees the threat posed to Western Culture, to peaceful Muslims, to the worlds citizens, by this small percentage before they stand up too?

Democrat “Putsch”

March 17, 2007

In what is looking more and more like the ‘putsch’ that ended up propelling Germany’s NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party) into power in the early 1930’s, the equivalent American Socialist Democrat party is wasting no time positioning themselves for a power takeover that seems designed to be a permanent hold on power in Washington D.C.

Since winning the Congressional mid-term elections in 2006, with a promise of an Array of Investigations. In power barely over two months, they are keeping that promise, in effect, undermining the President as he wages war on terror. Of course, undermining the President’s ability to properly execute the war also undermines our Troops, as they are in Harm’s Way.

After two years investigating charges of CIA analyst, Valerie Plame, being “outed” in revenge for her husbands mysterious ‘mission’ to Niger in search of whether or not Saddam Hussein’s government was actually seeking nuclear material, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, who knew from the start who actually released Plame’s name, filed no charges against anyone for this “outing,” as the release of her name broke no laws. Instead, we had a kangaroo trial against ‘Scooter’ Libby because he had a faulty memory in subsequent testimony before the Grand Jury. In the end, a guilty verdict was returned for his ‘perjury.’ Fitzgerald said the CIA leak investigation was now inactive, "I do not expect to file any additional charges," adding "We're all going back to our day jobs."

Apparently, the Socialist Democrats in power in Washington D.C. didn’t receive that memo. Convening fresh new hearings on this bogus “CIA Leak” case, they now indicate they desire to expand the congressional probe of CIA leak.

Claiming this “investigation” is “fundamentally different” to Fitzgerald’s criminal investigation into the leak, Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Ca.) said, “It is not our job to determine criminal culpability. But it is our job to understand what went wrong, to insist on accountability and to make recommendations to prevent future abuses.” Dishonest as Democrats usually are, he hides the real purpose of this “hearing,” to distract President Bush, to paint his administration and the Republican party as corrupt, untrustworthy and needing to be removed from leadership.

Upon announcement of the guilty verdict against Libby, for perjury, not for any “outing” of a CIA analyst, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, "It's about time someone in the Bush administration has been held accountable for the campaign to manipulate intelligence and discredit war critics."

Senator Reid, that isn’t what the Kangaroo trail was about! But, for undermining the current administration while fighting a war, it will do.

Since voting overwhelmingly to authorize the use of force in Iraq, Democrats have waged an unprecedented campaign undermining every step bush has taken. Since the beginning they have complained of not enough Troops. Once Bush said he was ending more Troops, they balked at that.

In a near unanimous vote to accept General Petraeus as Commander in Iraq, who told all of them he needed more troops, they now don’t wish him to have the Troops he needs. Proposing a timetable for withdrawal of our Troops, the Senate Republicans, in a rare display of backbone, turned back the Iraq pullout plan. That won’t stop the Socialist Democrats!

Instead of working together to fix whatever problems they complain were suddenly discovered at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Democrats exploit our Troops for their power grab.

Is there anybody in the administration they haven’t called for to resign? The administration fired 7 U.S. Attorneys over their lack of aggressively pursuing charges of voter fraud, something the Democrats cry every time they lose, and it is turned into a major scandal, even though previous administrations have let all 93 U.S. Federal Attorneys go at one time. Even though it is perfectly legal for any Presidents administration to fire any of them at any time, somehow when bush does it, it is a major scandal with charges of “political reasons.”

In all stated above and much more not mentioned, Socialist Democrats absolve themselves of any responsibility and drive a wedge between the American people, just like they did during the Viet Nam days. Then, they blame Bush for being “divisive.”

Spineless Republicans just lie down and take it, some even jumping on the bandwagon, appearing more liberal than the few Democrats that can see the dangers we face from radical Islamic terrorists.

As the German Nazi party blamed all the woes of post World War One Germany on the Jews in the early 1930’s, today’s Socialist Democrats blame all the countries woes President Bush and the Republican Party, even though it was Democrats themselves that allowed much of the dangers we face today to fester so long. It was they who blocked previous administrations from taking strong measures against terror for so long. It was they who snatched our Troops away from battles were either winning or could have been. It has historically been they who drastically cut our Defense Budget and reduced the size of the Military, even though the last Democrat administration deployed these reduced numbers of Troops worldwide more than any other previous administration. It was they who demanded Bush attack someone quickly after the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, prompting him to reply "When I take action, I'm not gonna fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt.”

Democrats turned a blind eye after secret after secret concerning our execution of the War on Terror and methods of discovering who was aligning themselves against us were printed in the New York Times. No need for “hearings” there, but an urgent need for who and why was a commonly known CIA analyst made known?

Rosie O’Donnell, boorish co-host on ABC’s ‘The View” humanizes those that are attempting to destroy our culture and us and no one on the left is outraged. Yet, Democrats can openly accuse our Troops of “cold blooded murder” and equate them to Nazis, Soviet gulag operators and genocidal maniac Pol Pot and again, no outrage. Yet, they all claim, “We support the Troops.”

We are a nation bitterly divided, again, thanks in a large part to the antics of the Socialist Democrat party and their ‘putsch’ for permanent control of our country, a rebirth of the failed Soviet Union under them.

I can only quote a line from the movie “The Path To 911,” “are there any “men” left in Washington?”

Surge Working, Democrats Want To Pull The Plug

March 14, 2007

Reportedly, President Bush’s Troop Surge (read reinforcement) to Iraq is already producing remarkable results. Cited from the article, “Bomb deaths have gone down 30 percent in Baghdad since the U.S.-led security crackdown began a month ago. Execution-style slayings are down by nearly half. The once frequent sound of weapons has been reduced to episodic. There are signs of progress in the campaign to restore order in Iraq.”

After a unanimous vote appointing General Petraeus Commander in Iraq, results are being shown, at long last.

Since the beginning of this War, Democrats and other leftists have been whining and crying about “lack of results,” “quagmire,” “being bogged down” and other such nonsense. Granted, as in every war, mistakes have been made. Change of Command has been implemented and steps are taken to achieve the results, Victory in Iraq against the terrorists in this War on Terror.

One would think that the Democrat party, being the patriots they claim, would be jubilant and supportive. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Instead of celebrating or asking what additional support our Troops could use, the Democrat party is holding debates in Congress on how to “withdraw from Iraq” before the expected results are ever reached.

Ted Kennedy, Democrat from Massachusetts and infamous for the Chappaquiddick tragedy, said, “The American people are far ahead of the administration. We have an obligation to stand up for our troops and stand up to our president when he stubbornly refuses to change course in Iraq.” Senator Kennedy, what course other than Victory is acceptable to you? Defeat?

Your efforts helped bring about the fall and conquering of South Viet Nam by Communism before. Is that your desire now? While you were “debating” Viet Nam, partying, driving off of bridges and leaving a young woman alone and defenseless in an overturned car, many of us were in Viet Nam wondering if we would be abandoned by the left. We were fighting for America and South Viet Nam, Senator. We were stopping the ebbing flow of Communism, until you and your Congressional cronies pulled the plug, stopped our support and withdrew us. Later, you stopped all support to Viet Nam and allowed them to be easily overrun by the Communist North.

Is that the plan again? Waste more American lives? Abandon the fledgling Democracy in Iraq and allow radical Islamofascists to conquer them? Let them set up more terrorists training camps much closer to America and Europe than they were in Afghanistan?

What then, Senator?

All along, the Democrats have been crying about “open ended commitment” in the War. They want a definite date to end it, an exit strategy or whatever else they can muster to hasten our defeat. Odd though, they never demanded any of that in former President Clinton’s bombing campaign and occupation of Bosnia/Kosovo.

While President Bush has repeatedly stated our commitment there isn’t “open-ended,” is it prudent to announce that date to the enemy? Would that not just broadcast to them to wait and let us leave so they can rush in and takeover, as did the Communist North Vietnamese?

Newly crowned Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who ran a campaign in part on “doubling the Special Forces,” and “Rebuild[ing] a state-of-the-art military by making the needed investments in equipment and manpower so that we can project power to protect America wherever and whenever necessary,” is finding out it’s much easier to bellyache in a campaign than to actually be a leader.

In the Houses “debate” on ‘snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory,’ her and California’s mouthy Maxine Waters (no relation, thankfully) are said to have gotten into somewhat of a cat fight in closed hearings. At stake is the $100 Billion Bush requests to fund the Troops efforts that are beginning to give the asked for results that frighten the left. The House wants to attach wording to the bill requiring a troop withdrawal by 2008, before the next Presidential election. Of course, making Iraq a failure would fit into the plan of crying how inept Bush and Republicans are with the expected result of ushering in Democrats for decades more power.

Congress has the legal right to fund or de-fund this or any war, by our constitution. Of course, stopping funding outright would stop the war, which they want, but it also would show it is they who caused the horrific outcome that surely will follow.

History shows that Congress indeed plays a significant role in fighting or surrendering in war. Many longingly look back to Viet Nam and along with the willing accomplices in the media, are eager to relive those days when they felt they accomplished something. All they accomplished was defeat, surrender and the murder of millions of South Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians. They totally demoralized the Military and it took years to recover.

By not supporting our ally in South Viet Nam, we became the laughing stock of the planet, a “paper tiger” which any third-rate country could back down. Today and after some 15 terrorist attacks against our interests (since 1979), 2 within the borders of our country, the Democrat party and their willing accomplices in the media are repeating the same mistakes that resulted in the fiasco of April 1975.

Never forget, Democrats were calling for actions against Iraq long before Bush was elected. They had been viewing intelligence years before Bush got to see it and when the call came to finally enforce the cease-fire signed after the First Gulf War, most voted for that action. Almost immediately, they started politicizing it, bitterly dividing the country once more and blaming it all on Bush.

In the meantime, our Troops are fighting a war wondering if they are supported by the American Public, wondering if Congress will abandon them as they did us in Viet Nam and wondering why their hands are being tied instead of letting them win this War.

Supporting the Troops, but not the War is just a leftist feel good stance designed to relieve the left of their guilt over the way we Viet Nam Veterans were done for so long. In reality, the only Troops they support are the small handful that speaks out against the War and President Bush. The rest, the vast majority, mean nothing to them.

In all of this “debating,” the only thing you will not hear from the Democrat party is any idea of achieving Victory. According to them, Victory in Iraq cannot be achieved because we can’t define it. Sorry, lefties, but I have a clear definition as does our Troops and President Bush. If you don’t, that’s your problem, not mine.

Victory can and will be achieved as long as we can stop the Democrat party’s “defeat from within” policy.

Portland, Or. March 9, 2007.

Retired Army Cpl. Howard V. Ramsey, the last known American World War One Combat Veteran, who died in his sleep at the age of 108 in February, was laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park.

Rest in Peace, Cpl. Ramsey, secure in the knowledge that today's young men and women are carrying on your brave and selfless acts in the fight for freedom.

‘Vast Right Wing Conspiracy’ Redux

March 13, 2007

Here we go again. Hillary Clinton, aka “Her Thighness,” is slipping in polls in her quest of becoming the first woman President. In true Clintonian fashion, she returns to the decades old Clinton Playbook, rehashing what they think worked years ago.

In this case, in New Hampshire and before Democrat municipal officials, she dusted off all the cobwebs and reused the tired old phrase she used when her husband, B.J. Clinton, was accused of having an affair with then White House intern Monica Lewinsky. As history shows, as well as an open confession in court and before Congress, B.J. Clinon and Ms. Lewinsky were indeed having a sexual affair and over time, I also believe B.J. may have actually learned what the meaning of “is” is.”

There was no conspiracy, vast or otherwise, from the right, just a lecherous President, her husband. Although ridiculed, she has never recanted her declaration of this “vast right winged conspiracy” and now seems to feel is the right time to resurrect it.

According to Clinton, “proof [is] the Election Day 2002 case of phone jamming in New Hampshire, a case in which two Republican operatives pleaded guilty to criminal charges, and a third was convicted.” Also offered as “proof,” “a number of other anti-voter actions, including intimidating phone calls during the contentious 2006 congressional elections.”

Perhaps she missed the DNC memo that the Democrat party won the elections? And, according to them, “WON BIG?”

Maybe that is why she also seemed to miss the extraordinary effort at disqualifying absentee ballots of our Troops overseas in the 2000 election by Gore?

Did she neglect to remember tires being slashed on 25 GOP vehicles in Wisconsin in 2004?

Did she not know that in 2004, the heavily Democrat city of Milwaukee reported 7,000 more votes than voters?

Or, the 2004 recounts in the Governors race in Washington State where heavily Democrat King County miraculously discovered lost ballots every time Governess Christine Fraudaire lost a recount, until she finally won?

Perhaps it is we that should be shouting out about a "Vast Left-Winged Conspiracy."

Wounded Troops: Is There Anything the Democrats Won’t Exploit?

March 11, 2007

Hearing and reading the latest comments coming from the Democrat party leadership, one would think that our wounded Troops sent to Walter Reed Army Hospital are all receiving grossly substandard and unsanitary medical care. Democrat leaders are wasting no time capitalizing on the Washington Post articles that seem to have initiated this latest scandal.

To listen to the Democrats, they have no share in any responsibility for the poor conditions found at building 18, a former hotel located outside the grounds of the Walter Reed Army Hospital compound.

While I won’t debate that conditions within building 18 are indeed poor, as evidenced by the relief of command of General George W. Weightman and forced resignation of Secretary of the Army Fran Harvey, the Democrats themselves do not have clean hands in this matter.

Recently, Don Imus, a radio host I don’t particularly care for, did a fantastic job at revealing the ineptness of the Democrats portion of blame when he cornered NY Senator Chuck Schumer into an admission that he hadn’t even visited Walter Reed to visit with the wounded Troops since before our invasion of Iraq.

I applaud Imus for showing that the grandstanding currently underway doesn’t help our wounded Troops and that Democrats have done little or nothing either to correct anything there for some time now.

President Bush and the Republican Party can’t say they are clean either. With all the visits by members of the administration, celebrities, Senators and Congresscritters, sports figures and others, surely someone should have noticed the deplorable conditions found in building 18. But, they didn’t.

Nor has NY Senator Hillary Clinton in her November 2003 visit she claimed to have made. Her effort seemed to be pointing out suffering caused by the war, but no mention of any poor conditions.

Rep. John Murtha (D. Pa), one of the more vocal critics of President Bush and the War on Terror in Iraq released the following in a statement on his website: “The recent stories detailing the dilapidated conditions at Building 18 at Walter Reed are disturbing. It is a disservice to those who have bravely sacrificed and it is a dishonor to their brave service to expose them to these conditions. Those who are responsible must be held accountable and immediate rectification must be aggressively pursued.” That is immediately followed by, “I routinely visit our military hospitals, as does Congressman Bill Young and his wife, Beverly, and I am always inspired by those who have sacrificed so much.

Well, Mr. Murtha, where is your responsibility? You admit to “several personal visits,” but haven’t ever uttered a word about the “squalor,” yet you call it “disturbing.” Do you not also share in the “accountability?”

During the 2004 campaign, failed candidate John F. Kerry (who did serve in Viet Nam, I’ve heard), while using everything he could to bash Bush and paint his administration as extremely poor, also visited Walter Reed for a “personal” visit with the wounded. No mention of such conditions was issued by his campaign. Surely we are not expected to believe that building 18 degraded that fast, are we?

Hasn’t Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid, Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator John McCain and others currently complaining so loud about the “deplorable conditions” visited the Troops either? I would say they have. None of them ever had anything to say until after the news story.

Yet, today they have the temerity to call for Congressional investigations, hearings and aggrandizing to absolve themselves of accountability and responsibility, while blaming the other guys.

Congress has it share of blame, both party’s. This did not happen overnight or only since George W. Bush was elected.

Blaming it on “outsourcing” and “privatization,” as Rep. Henry Waxman (D. Ca) is trying to do, doesn’t solve anything. As was pointed out in a recent Army Times article, buried in the middle of the article, “…the Defense Department “systemically” tried to replace federal workers at Walter Reed with private companies for facilities management, patient care and guard duty – a process that began in 2000.” You can’t blame only Bush when it started before he was even in office.

As anyone who has used the Military Medical System or the Veterans Healthcare system knows, there are problems there. It is a socialized medical system, a massive bureaucracy with tons of red tape. While I haven’t received any substandard care in my use of the VA Medical system, I have seen others very upset. We deserve better.

What I propose for Congress, especially Democrats, since they are in power currently, STOP WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS ON USELESS HEARINGS! GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASSES AND DO THE JOB THE COUNTRY ELECTED YOU TO DO! Use the money saved on useless hearings to fully fund the repairs needed at Walter Reed, to fund any additional care needed for our brave Troops and visit the entire Hospital compound, not just the lobby for your photo ops. Republicans, this goes for you too!

But, most of all, STOP THE DAMNED FINGER-POINTING AND EXPLOITING THE TROOPS to gain votes. Democrats, you are as much to blame as Republicans.

FIX THE DAMNED PROBLEM!!!

Nevada Democrats Cave to Far Left Kooks

March 9, 2007

After it was announced that the Nevada State Democrat party was to hold a debate hosted by Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio, the Nevada State Democratic Party and the Western Majority Project, the far left kooks went livid, citing their hatred of Fox News Channel, the only broadcast news channel that actually gives airing to both sides of political issues.

The far left web site MoveOn.org placed a call for petition on their site;

It's time to take on Fox
The Democratic Party of Nevada just announced plans to team up with Fox News for a presidential primary debate. But Fox isn't a legitimate news channel. It's a right-wing mouthpiece like Rush Limbaugh and the Drudge Report—repeating false Republican talking points to smear Democrats. Sign this petition to ask the Democratic Party of Nevada to drop Fox from the debate.
"Fox is a mouthpiece for the Republican Party, not a legitimate news channel. The Democratic Party of Nevada should drop Fox as its partner for the presidential primary debate."
(emphasis at original site)

Living up to their claim made in December 2004, We “Bought” the Democratic Party, these far left Stalinists claim, “more than 265,000 people signed a petition sent to the Nevada State Democratic Party.”

These are some of the very same far left kooks who were crying foul when individuals and radio stations decided to stop buying or playing music by the Dixie Chicks, crying “censorship.”

Neither President Bush or the Republican Party called for citizens to stop buying their CDs or concert tickets, individuals did that on their own because they were ticked off at the message one of the “Chicks” said to a British Audience. Up to that time, their majority fans were mostly Right Winged Country folk, the true backbone of America.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) initially said, “This is more great news for Nevada. I'm happy FOX News will be a partner for the August presidential debate.” Nevada State Democratic party chairman Tom Collins now has posted on the party’s website “Because FOX has such an editorial bias against Democrats, some of our allies [read the far left Stalinists] believe that we should have chosen another media partner. Senator Reid shares some of these concerns and has asked us to take another look at the parameters of this debate in order to ensure that all Democrats are comfortable as we move forward.”

This is a blatant move by the Stalinists of Moveon.org to control the media as was done when the Bolshevik Revolution conquered Russia in 1917 and formed the Soviet Union. Said Vladimir Lenin, leader of the revolution, ““socialism without the postal service, the telegraph[…][is] nothing but empty words.” Naturally, he didn’t have the media outlets we do today, not even radio, but his implication is clear, as noted by Socialist Noam Chomsky when he said, [media control] “when supported by the educated classes and when no deviation is permitted from it, can have a big effect. It was a lesson learned by Hitler and many others, and it has been pursued to this day.”

Apparently learned quite well by the Stalinist Kooks at Moveon.org as well.

Anyone familiar with the moonbats at Moveon.org, Daily KOS, Democratic Underground and other such notable far leftist forums knows this only too well. If you doubt it, please drop by their sites, register free and post something favorable about Bush, Republicans or the War on Terror in Iraq. See how long you remain.

Unlike most Right Winged Blogs and forums, Right In A Left World included as well as FreeRepublic, BlogsforBush and others, you and your comments will remain, if they are made reasonably respectful. We welcome serious discussion. They, on the other hand, fear it and must control the reports and views of what is said.

State Democrats, in an attempt to cover their real reason, tried to divert it to Roger Ailes, founder and president of Fox News, claiming a joke he told Thursday evening at a private function, "went too far." In a letter received by Fox from State Party Chairman, Tom Collins, read in part, "We cannot, as good Democrats, put our party in a position to defend such comments," the letter said. "In light of his comments, we have concluded that it is not possible to hold a presidential debate that will focus on our candidates and are therefore cancelling our August debate. We take no pleasure in this, but it is the only course of action."

The offending joke they claim is the root of their decision, actually is against President Bush, not Illinois Senator Barack Obama, as claimed. Mr. Ailes said, "And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called (Pakistani President Pervez) Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?' "

Their “selective offense” is very noticeable since even CNN once ran an on-line graphic of "Where's Obama?"

Senator Ted Kennedy in 2005 even got tongue-tied in reply to a question concerning Senator Obama when he said, "There you go. Why don't we just ask Osama bin Laden? Uh, Osama Obama! (giggles) Obama what is – since he won by such a big amount."

While I can see confusion easily happening, Mr. Ailes joke is clearly against President Bush, not Senator Obama. But, it is apparently a good enough smokescreen for Nevada State Democrats to use to cave in to the far left Stalinists of Moveon.org.

To Roger Ailes credit, he is taking this very seriously, as should all of our media. Said Ailes,
"Recently pressure groups are forcing candidates to conclude that the best strategy for journalists is divide and conquer, to only appear on those networks and venues that give them favorable coverage.

There's a long tradition of news organizations, national and local, sometimes together, sponsoring presidential and other candidate debates. The organizations and the panelists have been the objects of a lot of advice and even pressure as to how these debates should be conducted and what questions should be asked. This pressure has been successfully resisted, but it's being tried again this year with the added wrinkle that candidates are being asked to boycott debates because certain groups wants to approve the sponsoring organizations.

This pressure must be resisted as it has been in the past. Any candidate for high office of either party who believes he can blacklist any news organization is making a terrible mistake about journalists. And any candidate of either party who cannot answer direct, simple, even tough questions from any journalist runs a real risk of losing the voters.

The public knows if a journalist's question is unfair. They also know if a candidate is impeding freedom of speech and free press. If you are afraid of journalists, how will you face the real dangers in the world?"

Fox Vice President David Rhodes said:
"News organizations will want to think twice before getting involved in the Nevada Democratic Caucus, which appears to be controlled by radical fringe, out-of-state in interest groups, not the Nevada Democratic Party. In the past, MoveOn.org has said they 'own' the Democratic party. While most Democrats don't agree with that, it's clearly the case in Nevada."

America needs to wake up before these far left Stalinists gain more control over political parties and we lose “land of the free, home of the brave.”

Impeach Bush “Evidence?”

March 8, 2007

I ran across these at the website, Impeach For Peace where the site authors make the claim “Nonpartisan efforts to Impeach Bush & Cheney.” While they are making their case for impeachment, ‘nonpartisan’ they are not.

Looking at the “evidence” we see hearsay quotes from some of the more prominent leftwing biased sources in the country. Let’s look through them.

ILLEGAL WAR

“The memorial goes on to set forth that, George W. Bush has intentionally misled the Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify a war against Iraq…”

As I showed in the post Impeach Bush Over the War on Terror in Iraq?, President Bush made claims as did several prominent Democrats long before he took office. How is it possible that he could have “lied to” or “misled” Congress when what he said was the same thing they were saying years earlier?

President Bush went before both Houses and the United Nations, which had issued 17 resolutions against the regime of Saddam Hussein in the previous 12 years that were completely ignored.

The 1992 Gulf War ended a “cease fire,” not surrender. Conditions mandated in that “cease fire” were also ignored and not complied with. That alone constitutes legal grounds for resumption of hostilities as the Saddam Hussein regime thumbed his nose at the entire world and blocked UN efforts at ensuring he disposed of his WMD programs.

Saddam was given a chance to step down or allow inspectors back in prior to the invasion in May 2003, which he also ignored and puffed out his chest. When it was too late, he tried to say he would comply, but the die was cast and Troops were on their way in.

NOTHING ILLEGAL there.

ILLEGAL SPYING
*Update - Recently Found Guilty by District Court

“The memorial goes on to set forth that, George W. Bush has admitted to ordering the National Security Agency to conduct electronic surveillance of American civilians without seeking warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review…”

Yes, an admission of some electronic surveillance was made, but not in the fashion the left thinks. It wasn’t “wiretapping” or eavesdropping of domestic calls. See 'Warrantless' searches not unprecedented, On the Legality of the NSA Electronic Intercept Program and Case for spying.

The “recently found guilty by District Court” is most laughable. Even the very left leaning New York Times cited legal experts, who agreed with the ruling, but saw serious problems in it. The article Amatuer Hour shows even more problems with her ruling, as does the revelation of a conflicts of interest on the part of the Judge, Anna Diggs Taylor.

See also the Washington Posts A Judicial Misfire.

GENEVA CONVENTION VIOLATIONS
*Update -Found Guilty by the Federal Supreme Court

“The memorial goes on to set forth that, George W. Bush has conspired to commit the torture of prisoners in violation of the "Federal Torture Act" Title 18 United States Code, Section 113C, the UN Torture convention and the Geneva Convention…”

More than anything else, this Supreme Court Decision has brought a big smile to the faces of the anti-Bush crowd. That it grants legal considerations to those non-citizens who have shown they desire to behead our culture and destroy our country matters little to those afflicted with the dreaded BDS.

Did they forget that the handful of Troops who supposedly mistreated prisoners in Abu Ghraib were prosecuted for what amounted to little more than college pranks? Of course, the prosecution didn’t include Bush or Cheney, so they weren’t far enough.

The “found guilty by the Federal Supreme Court” addresses Military Tribunals and detainees, not torture. Of that SCOTUS decision, a 5 to 3 split between liberal and conservative Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito strongly dissenting. Justice Thomas said the majority "openly flouts our well-established duty to respect the Executive's judgment in matters of military operations and foreign affairs."

See also Scalia’s Dissent

Another point IBP misses is that in this decision, the Court declared that it was not questioning the government’s power to hold Hamdan “for the duration of active hostilities” to prevent harm to innocent civilians. But, “in undertaking to try Hamdan and subject him to criminal punishment, the Executive is bound to comply with the Rule of Law that prevails in this jurisdiction.”

Which is basically declaring if they try him, they have to take him to federal court, but they don’t have to try him.

The rest is memos and nonsense written to Bush and nothing showing that he approved any of it, better luck next time.

ILLEGAL DETENTION
*Update - Found Guilty by District Court

“The memorial goes on to set forth that, George W. Bush has acted to strip Americans of their constitutional rights by ordering indefinite detention of citizens, without access to legal counsel, without charge and without opportunity to appear before a civil judicial officer to challenge the detention, based solely on the discretionary designation by the President of a U.S. citizen as an "enemy combatant."

Here I have to really fight the urge to request that those signing on to IBP please take as many of the more misguided terrorist detainees into their homes to show us how to do it. But, this is about Jose Padilla, aka Abdullah al-Muhajir, a Puerto Rican born US Citizen with a long criminal history and convert to Islam with known ties to Al Qaeda and accused dirty bomber.

Something is terribly wrong when a criminally inclined person like Padilla is agonized over while those feeling sorry for him couldn’t care less that US Citizens who own businesses may not allow patrons to use a legal product within their business, should they so decide.
Padilla has been declared fit to stand trial, but lawyers are still trying to have him freed because of claims of “torture,” right out of the Al Qaeda Training Manual.

Yes, let’s hurry and impeach Bush for trying to prevent another 9/11-type attack in the country.

ILLEGAL RELEASE OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

“The memorial goes on to set forth that, George W. Bush authorized the leaking classified national secrets to further a political agenda, exposing an unknown number of covert U. S. intelligence agents to potential harm and retribution while simultaneously refusing to investigate the matter…”

Even though nothing in Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald’s papers filed suggest Bush or Cheney did anything illegal, and that presidents have wide latitude to declassify material, that doesn’t stop the BDS afflicted from their cries of IMPEACH NOW for Bush “leaking” already declassified material.

Likewise, I Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby's recent conviction of lying about a non-crime has given the IBP crowd more hope and fodder for a fresh push for impeachment, even though the trial was not about Iraq, Bush, Cheney or “outing” a non-covert CIA analyst.

Already, a House Oversight Committee hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 16 due to “questions about whether senior White House officials… complied with the requirements governing the handling of classified information” and “whether the White House took appropriate remedial action following the leak,” even though no real leak occurred and it was known to Special Counsel Fitzgerald even before he was appointed to the investigation.

I have no doubt that the IBP crowd will be standing with IMPEACH BUSH signs as he hands over power to whoever the next president will be on January 20, 2009. If they could accomplish it retroactively, they will push for that as well.

In the meantime, we have Troops facing an emboldened enemy seeing how Democrats, Syria and Iran Ally Against Victory In War On Terror while protestors try desperately to block shipments of needed medical equipment to the troops from the Port of Tacoma.

Impeach Bush Over the War on Terror in Iraq?

March 7, 2007

If this war requires impeachment, then we need to include these fine people as well:

"We must recognize that there is no indication that Saddam Hussein has any intention of relenting. So we have an obligation of enormous consequence, an obligation to guarantee that Saddam Hussein cannot ignore the United Nations. He cannot be permitted to go unobserved and unimpeded toward his horrific objective of amassing a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction..."

"This should not be a strike consisting only of a handful of cruise missiles hitting isolated targets primarily of presumed symbolic value. But how long this military action might continue and how it may escalate should Saddam remain intransigent and how extensive would be its reach are for the Security Council and our allies to know and for Saddam Hussein ultimately to find out."

"Should the resolve of our allies wane to pursue this matter until an acceptable inspection process has been reinstituted--which I hope will not occur and which I am pleased to say at this moment does not seem to have even begun--the United States must not lose its resolve to take action." Senator John F. Kerry, Senate speech given November 9, 1997

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998

"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." Madeline Albright, 1998

"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." Bill Clinton in 1998

"Iraq is not the only nation in the world to possess weapons of mass destruction, but it is the only nation with a leader who has used them against his own people." Tom Daschle in 1998

"As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." Nancy Pelosi, December 16, 1998

"Imagine the consequences if Saddam fails to comply and we fail to act. Saddam will be emboldened, believing the international community has lost its will. He will rebuild his arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. And some day, some way, I am certain, he will use that arsenal again, as he has ten times since 1983." Sandy Berger, President Clinton's National Security Advisor, February 18, 1998

Addressing the lack of WMD's found, ""The consensus was the same, from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration. It was the same intelligence belief that our allies and friends around the world shared." Senator Hillary Clinton, Larry King Live, April 21, 2004

Please note, all but one of these was made long before George W. Bush was elected to office. How does anyone claim they were lied to when they were saying the same thing a few years before Bush was even elected?

Our enemies watch every step we make and they are emboldened as they see us fractured. Since 1979, when they invaded our embassy in Tehran and held hostages for over 400 days, there have been some 15 terrorist attacks against U.S. interests, twice on our own soil. These aren't petty crimes, they are acts of war that must be addressed and defeated.

Instead of all the infighting, we need to come together and defeat this enemy before they defeat us. Left or right, liberal or conservative won't mean anything should they win.

Investing In Defeat

March 7, 2007

Read any newspaper, watch any of the news reports on TV or review many of the leftwing blogs online and you are inundated with cries of “stop the war,” “bring the troops home,” and even “free the troops.” The anti-war left, along with Democrat party leaders, have pulled out most all of the stops to run interference and bring America another defeat in this War on Terror, especially in Iraq.

Once such example of this would be the recent protest held at the Port of Tacoma in Washington state. Protesters opposed to the war assembled and tried to block the shipment of Stryker ICVs to the Troops in Iraq. A video filmed from the protesters side is available at Taunting The Troops In Tacoma on Michelle Malkins website. Pay particular attention to the chants, taunts and especially, the one with the bullhorn saying the Sergeants are “douchebags.”

One of their chants, “free the troops,” is very noticeable. During Viet Nam, we had a draft and were given no choice in avoiding the Military. Today, it is an ALL VOLUNTEER Military; they are not there against their will. What is it they need “freed” from?

On a blog site of the protesters, one protester going by the name of Molly Gibbs (I assumer her real name), posted under the entry of Mantra for Port Protests “5 reasons they protest.” Amongst the list is “We have a democratic [and] legal obligation to resist.”

Ms. Gibbs, may I ask, just what are you “resisting?” There is no draft, people are not forced into the Military, and you face no conscription or coercion into joining the Military. Is your life so shallow you feel the best way you can “support the Troops” is by attempting to block much needed supplies to keep them safe and alive?

Perhaps in their eagerness to live up to the history of the 60’s protests, Ms Gibbs failed to ascertain that this particular shipment of Stryker ICVs were equipped with medical intervention equipment, medical supplies that our soldiers need desperately and the very equipment that keeps our Troops alive. That is what you were protesting being shipped to our Troops, Ms. Gibb.

She also states, “We have an economic obligation to resist,” citing “our state and local governments lack sufficient funds to address basic human needs and maintain essential public infrastructure.”

I find this one particularly humorous as these are among the same people who voted down a latte tax in 2003 in nearby Seattle, which was designed to pay for child care and preschool programs.

She concludes with, “We have developed and intend to pursue a continuum of actions designed to achieve our goal. Non-violent civil disobedience is part of that continuum.”

Non-violent is only “part” of their continuum? Makes me wonder what else they may have in store.

We also saw yesterday the conviction of Lewis “Scooter” Libby of lying to a grand jury in the bogus investigation of who “outed” the name of Valerie Plame, leftist analyst in the CIA who sent her husband to Niger to do a hit piece on Bush’s pre-war intelligence. That she wasn’t covert, wasn’t “outed,” since her husband, Joe Wilson, former Ambassador, had made her name known, and the real person who “leaked” her name to the media, Colin Powell’s assistant, Richard Armitage, was known to investigator Patrick J. Fitzgerald very early on in this “investigation.”

That this supposed trial had nothing to do with the War on Terror did nothing slowing down anti-war Democrats as they wasted little time in trying to tie the two together, along with their willing accomplices in defeat in the media.

Add to this the recent “revelation” of such poor care for our Troops at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Again, that the deplorable condition is in one building does nothing to stop the Democrat party from their quest at bring America to its defeat, again.

A former employee at Walter Reed sees this “scandal” for what it is on her blog at Walter Reed Primer and Walter Wonderful. I also refer you to the March 2007 edition of Readers Digest magazine, pages 126 to 133.

No, I am not saying there are no problems. There are some and they do need to be resolved and corrected. But, Army hospitals and VA Hospitals have been being complained about since they were first opened. Congress receives many letters about them, some warranted, some not. Complaints are not new and the Democrat party held Congressional power for 40 years prior to 1994. And, they act like they just heard of this?

Why did they not fully fund the Army health system and VA hospitals long ago? Why wait until just now and create a scandal, absolving them selves, but pointing fingers at Republicans and President Bush?

I’ll leave that to you readers to figure out. Don’t forget, when they regained power last year, Democrats Pledge Array of Investigations in nearly everything except how to defeat terrorists around the globe.

That is the one thing we never hear from the Democrat party or the anti-war left, VICTORY, how to pull together and win against terror. After unanimously approving the selection of General Petraeus as Commander in Iraq and calling for more troops in Iraq, when President Bush announced he was sending more, what did the Democrats do? Did they applaud? No. Did they say “about time?” No. Did they even approve? No, they all of sudden opposed any reinforcement of our Troops.

We have two options in this war, win or lose. I hear no one from the left or the Democrat party giving any suggestions on winning. If asked, they reply with something nonsensical like “no one knows what win or victory means.” When asked, they don’t try to answer, they just repeat their mantras of “Bush lied,” “war for oil,” “Free the troops,” or whatever.

Our Troops seem to understand Victory. We supporters of the troops and their mission have an understanding of Victory. The Iraqis have an understanding of Victory. Even the Terrorists understand Victory. Only the Democrat party and their supporters can’t seem to find any room for Victory in this war.

Every step they take, they just invest deeper into the defeat of America.

Down Home Hillary

March 5, 2007

I reckon getting hitched to and living with good ‘ol boy, B.J. Clinton all them years in Arkansas got Hillary all fired up yesterday down in Selma, Alabama, where she and Obama visited Black Churches to pander votes and pretend as if they really cared anything about the bloody march held there on March 7, 1965, known as ‘Bloody Sunday.’

Kentucky Fried Hillary

No, she didn’t talk like that through her entire speech. She was quoting a part of James Cleveland's Hymn, “I Don't Feel Noways Tired.”

Still, the sudden molasses in her voice was quite noticeable and not her regular manner of speech, even when not quoting from the hymn.

Her and Barrack Obama both appeared in Selma yesterday, both speaking in churches commemorating ‘Bloody Sunday.’ Neither can have any feel for what happened that day. Obama was 3 years old and is not a descendant of slaves in America. His father came from Kenya in the late 1950s, his mother a white woman from Kansas.

Likewise, Hillary, a white teenager that Sunday in March 1965, came from somewhat of a privileged family in the Chicago suburbs, quite removed from the unrest all over the south during those days of struggle for equality for Blacks.

Clearly they are vying and pandering for the Black vote.

Something that continues to go unmentioned by both candidates and even some Blacks today is that those who attacked and beat Black Civil Rights Marchers in Selma were predominately Democrats. Don’t forget, this was back in the days of the old Solid Democrat South.

It was Southern Democrats that fought the Civil Rights Bill tooth and nail, being led by current Senator and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Kleagle, Robert Byrd, W. Va.

Once was the time people Down South, White or Black, would have seen right through this charade and turned their backs on both of these candidates.
