What sort of person writes a letter to his own young daughters and has it printed in an International magazine? Only a narcissistic attention whore would do such a thing.
This weekends Parade Magazine includes such a letter written by such an attention whore, a man so self absorbed that nothing exists outside of himself and his ambitions of power.
The man? Barack Hussein Obama, soon to be coronated the most high-exalted grand messiah of the formerly free world.
The Open Letter, most assuredly intended to convince the world of his caring and concern more so than actually for his daughters Malia and Sasha and most likely written by a professional writer, appears to portray the Junior Senator midway through his first term in the Senate from Illinois in a caring light, but also draws attention away from his selections of one of the most corrupt cabinets being formed in the history of the United States of America.
Some telling excerpts from the “epistle,”
“When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me, about how I’d make my way in the world, become successful and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up my day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn't seem so important anymore.”
Not much has changed, has it? For all of his big plans no longer seeming important, a first term Senator with no experience sure fought long and hard to attain the highest office.
“I realized that my own life wouldn’t count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours.”
Uh, the United States Constitution and those that defend it daily already ensure that. As he and the other Dictatorial Democrats slowly chip away at the liberties granted us by that Constitution, would Malia and Sasha end up the only two children to have that opportunity?
“Push our own human boundaries to reach beyond the divides of race and region, gender and religions, that keep us from seeing the best in each other.”
Would that include the unprecedented bashing and denigration of President George W. Bush and Conservatives in general over the past 6 years?
And what of the vitriolic attacks against Alaska’s Governor, Sarah Palin and her family, perpetrated by your campaign and subordinates within your own party? Her crime? Being White and a Conservative.
“[Y]our grandmother tried to teach me when I was your age, reading me the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence and telling me about the men and women who marched for equality because they believed those words put to paper two centuries ago should mean something.”
Would that be the “typical White person” grandmother?
This is probably one of the stranger musings within his article masquerading as a letter considering that along with this charade of replicating Republican President Abraham Lincoln, B HO calls for a New Declaration of Independence.
B HO says,
“What is required is a new declaration of independence, not just in our nation, but in our own lives -- from ideology and small thinking, prejudice and bigotry…”
Has it escaped Obama that he is the very first Halfrican-American to attain such a seat of power? While bigotry will never be totally wiped out, obviously it isn’t as rampant or he wouldn’t be poised to assume the office he is.
What he now does with it is what scares many, this writer included.
I too have two daughters, both grown and in their mid-thirties now. I too am very proud of them and strived to teach them care about others and do what is right, even if it is harder. I grew up in a very prejudiced environment and rejected that prejudice in my teen years later teaching my own children that gender and race is not a barrier unless you let it be.
My daughters don’t live in a $6.4 Million Mansion in Chicago and never got to enjoy the fun of traveling the countryside helping me dupe the public into believing I could make their lives better.
Then again, my letters and comments to them never appeared in an International magazine, instead being kept between us, as such personal letters should be.
That this “letter to his daughters” garners such International attention lends a lot more credence to a charge made during the campaign. That being his Western Wall Note really was just a campaign stunt after all, just as his letter to his daughters is now.
