The Camel’s Nose Is Inside The Tent

In November 1987, two Gay Activists penned an article published in a Gay Magazine titled THE OVERHAULING OF STRAIGHT AMERICA, which was essentially the outline of “a propaganda campaign to confuse and deceive the American people about their objectives.”

Tactics mentioned include “intimidation, lies, and fear to silence opposition.”

Nowhere is then seen any better than in California after passage of their Proposition 8, overturning the legislative action allowing same-sex marriage in that state.

It can also be seen quite vividly today in Washington State as a measure allowing Domestic Partnerships legal standing, laughably referred to as “Everything but marriage,” faces a challenge from Washington States Citizens.

Almost immediately after the bill was signed into law by Liberal Democrat Governor Christine Gregoire, efforts to launch a citizen initiative against the law was launched as Referendum 71, a petition drive to place a measure on the November 2009 ballot to overturn Washington’s legislatively passed Domestic Partnership Bill.

In spite of a campaign by pro-gay activists in opposition to the petition drive, enough signatures were gathered to have the initiative placed on the ballot, angering those same Gay Activists who have launched their own effort at voter intimidation by demanding they be given the names and addresses of all who signed the petition for public dissemination on a searchable site they would place on the internet. They do this under Washington States Public Disclosure Law and would be on web sites known as Knowtheyneighbor.org and Whosigned.org.

Their intent is an obvious call for harassment and intimidation of more influential people or business owners who signed the petition even though they attempt to mask their effort as a means to “Provide Washington State Voters with a way to check that the public record of their advocacy is correct.”

Can’t we already do that through the Secretary of State?

Their tactic is very reminiscent of what we saw in 2006 when a pro-gay blogger ‘outed’ former Republican Representative from Florida, Mark Foley, vowing to target more who “support anti-gay activities.” In other words, Gays who do not walk lock step with the Gay Activists.

Yesterday, November 29, a Federal Judge in Tacoma granted the request for a temporary restraining order against such release of the signature names and addresses, further angering Gay Activists, as can be seen by many comments left at the article and by a Bellingham resident’s call of “It Is Time to use Violence Against Property .”

Signers are referred to as “bigots,” “KKK members,” “cowards” and you name it. As can be expected, as soon as reference is made to their tactic possibly resulting in a “Krystallnacht” type event against citizens, cries of homophobia and “whoever first mentions Nazi’s in an argument automatically loses the argument” is heard from the heterophobic Gay Activists.

One is left to ponder, should the measure pass muster and be approved in the ballot, will these same heterophobes demand they be given the names and addresses of who voted for its passage, also to be placed on an internet searchable site? Have we come this close to denying citizens their right to anonymity under the secret ballot, thereby guaranteeing voters the freedom to vote their conscience without fear of intimidation or retribution?

Are the heterophobes so afraid of due process that they cannot launch a campaign to try and convince voters to vote down R-71 and instead encourage intimidation and harassment?

Can you imagine the outrage from Gay Activists should backers of California’s Proposition 8 demand the names and addresses of all who sign the petition against Proposition 8 to be made available for public scrutiny on a searchable internet site?

The authors of “The Overhauling of Straight America” said in their article,

First let the camel get his nose inside the tent—only later his unsightly derriere!

Not only is the camels nose inside our tent, we are now seeing its “unsightly derriere.”

Veterans, It Is Time We Became Offended Too!

Fellow Veterans and supporters, we are under attack again. Unlike when we faced battle, these attacks are not from foreign enemies, but citizens within our country and groups claiming they “protect the constitution” we swore an oath to “protect and defend.”

Coming under attack by the very citizens we fought to defend isn’t new to Viet Nam Veterans as we still feel the sting of the disparagement leveled against us.

These latest attacks aren’t against us personally, but against long ago built Memorials to Honor the fallen of past wars.

It wasn’t enough that in recent years dozens of our Memorials were vandalized around the country or that leftist media is again focusing on a half dozen malcontents to paint Veterans as troubled victims again, the ACLU is using the Separation of Church and State issue to fight our Memorials, even in out of the way places.

One such is the Mojave Desert Veterans Memorial, built in 1934 and that the very liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled is a violation of the US Constitution.

The case is going to appear before the Supreme Court for a final decision.

Rees Lloyd, former ACLU attorney, civil rights attorney and Vietnam-era veteran, is one of the attorney’s supporting the American Legion in their arguing to allow the cross-shaped Memorial to remain at Mt. Soledad, 11 miles out of sight of any major roadways.

Mr. Lloyd has submitted several posts to the blogsite of local radio host, Victoria Taft, heard on KPAM 860 AM weekdays from 5 PM to 8 PM. Rees Lloyd says in part,

“This case, Salazar vs. Buono, also known as the "Mojave Desert Veterans Memorial Case," will be a constitutional landmark. The decision will determine whether 300,000,000 Americans may continue to choose how they honor American war dead and other veterans in their varied states, counties, cities, and communities --including by inclusion of the Cross and other symbols of a religious aspect --or whether the ACLU, the Taliban of American liberal secularism, and atheists, agnostics, or others "offended" by the sight of the Cross, or other religious symbol, shall have a veto power over those decisions heretofore exercised as a matter of tradition by heretofore free Americans.”

“The nationwide impact of the case cannot be overstated. The importance of the case is presented in a short video produced by Liberty Legal Institute, a pro bono law firm that is fighting for veterans and against the ACLU. I am advised that some 700,000 Americans have now viewed that video, entitled "Mojave Veterans Memorial Video," which I urge you to take a very few minutes to view. It can be viewed at www.libertylegal.org, or www.DontTearMeDown.com.”

In a more recent posting, we see that the one claiming to be “offended” is
“Frank Buono of Oregon. He was the Assistant Superintendent of the Mojave Desert Preserve when former President Bill Clinton incorporated the Veterans Memorial into the federal Preserve. Although he did nothing as Assistant Superintendent to stop the inclusion of the memorial into the Preserve, nor made any complaint to his superiors about it, Buono waited until he collected his generous federal pension, moved to Oregon, then sued through the ACLU to destroy the veterans memorial over a thousand miles away in California. He says he would be offended if he drove back on vacation and had to endure the sight of the Cross.”

As a Veteran, it offends me that our Memorials have come under attacks as this.

Memorials are to all who have fallen and are not political in nature.

That many may contain crosses is just a reflection that we were founded on Christian principles, principles shared by many other religions.

Our enemies do not ask what religion we are; they just see the uniform and try to kill us.

It is utterly reprehensible to see our Memorials being politicized as this to 'putsch' a minority view and most often, by ones who never faced battle in defense of the nation.

If our Memorials offend you, feel free to erect one of your own in any manner that honors our fallen you so choose.

But, leave ours the hell alone!

Something to Think About

Some days it seems difficult to hear words of wisdom above the babble of banality, the murmur of moroseness, the chatter and carping and incessant whining about whatever the subject of the day happens to be.

Yet, if you truly listen, you will hear these words; and the more you focus upon them, the clearer they become until they ring aloud as a church bell across the countryside.

Obamacare Doublespeak

The doublespeak coming out of the White House regarding the healthcare nonsense that our "leaders" in Washington are attempting to foist off on us is certainly confounding, but truly breathtaking in its depth and breadth of.... well.... audacity.

From this CNNMoney report today, we are treated to the following: (emphasis added)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House has criticized the Congressional Budget Office's findings that the Obama administration's proposal to control Medicare costs would yield a moderate savings of $2 billion over the next decade.

White House Budget Director Peter Orszag said the CBO's analysis -- which it relayed to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer on Saturday -- could feed a perception of the office's bias toward "exaggerating costs and underestimating savings."

"The point of the proposal ... was never to generate savings over the next decade," Orszag said in a letter posted on Saturday.

"Instead the goal is to provide a mechanism for improving quality of care for beneficiaries and reducing costs over the long term."

Is not a reduction in cost the same thing as a savings? Why.... Yes! Yes, it is!

This is but one example of the doublespeak coming out of our current Administration. The frightening part comes in this little tidbit: (emphasis added)
Achieving Obama's goal, say Orszag and other experts, requires covering every American, digitizing records, encouraging healthy behaviors and, perhaps most important, rewarding medical teams that deliver evidence-based care rather than those with the highest volume. It means focusing on chronic illnesses, reducing costly hospital and specialist visits, and nudging doctors to work in teams.
Backed up by this even bigger one: (emphasis added)
The grants [to organizations like ACORN] are designed to fund groups that will "measure" people's health-related behavior on the community level, including whether they are gaining or losing weight, eating the right foods, getting exercise, using tobacco, or engaging in other personal behaviors targeted for federal monitoring by the secretary of health and human services.
Federal monitoring of personal behaviors? Crazy, since I thought this was still America (for a little while, anyhow).

Why must we have yet more legislation rammed through both chambers of Congress and rushed across the President's desk without being read (or even being written before being passed, like Cap and Trade was passed in the House) now, now, now, even though a majority of Americans are against "reform" plans being flung about? What is the dire urgency? Well, according to President Obama, the urgency is because:

This is not just about the 47 million Americans who have no health insurance. Reform is about every American who has ever feared that they may lose their coverage if they become too sick, or lose their job, or change their job. It’s about every small business that has been forced to lay off employees or cut back on their coverage because it became too expensive. And it’s about the fact that the biggest driving force behind our federal deficit is the skyrocketing cost of Medicare and Medicaid.

So let me be clear: if we do not control these costs, we will not be able to control our deficit. If we do not reform health care, your premiums and out-of-pocket costs will continue to skyrocket. If we do not act, 14,000 Americans will continue to lose their health insurance every single day. These are the consequences of inaction. These are the stakes of the debate we’re having right now.

Our national economy is at stake (in Obama's opinion), but so is our personal financial status - all because of health insurance. Not health care, mind you, as has been promoted for ages as the catch phrase of the day, but health insurance. There IS a difference.

Each and every American (and illegal aliens who find themselves upon our soil) are entitled by law to health care. This fact cannot and should not ever be disputed.
  • If you are a pregnant woman with no insurance and you show up in the local emergency room in labor, you and your newborn will receive care - by law - regardless of your ability or inability to pay.
  • If you are a drunk teenager having just become intimate with a telephone pole at 92 miles per hour and show up in the local emergency room, you will receive care - by law - regardless of your ability or inability to pay.
  • If you are a homeless man suffering a heart attack or stroke and show up in the local emergency room, you will receive care - by law - regardless of your ability or inability to pay.
  • If you are an American citizen, legal immigrant, or illegal immigrant with a sniffle and show up in the local emergency room, you will receive care - by law - regardless of your ability or inability to pay - or even your citizenship status.
Health insurance, on the other hand is an entirely different story. Some have it and some do not. Some have better coverage than others. Some people have deductibles and copays and others do not. Some policies are provided by an employer, some are provided by the individual, and many are provided by both.

Obviously, there is a limit on the care provided in an emergency room. For example, showing up (with or without insurance) will not get you infertility treatments, cosmetic surgery, or a sex-change operation. However, if you are seeking those types of treatments, would it not seem fair and reasonable to expect you to seek those services out at your own expense anyhow? On the other hand, does it not seem fair and reasonable that there should be limits placed on what health insurance covers, as well?

But Barack Obama is going to make sure this healthcare utopia is realized, even if it means exerting "pressure" on those representatives we send to Washington, DC, to represent our interests:
Obama’s political operation has dispensed with its post-inauguration cocktails for Republicans – or more often, ignoring them outright — in favor of the old politics of engage, attack and cajole. Obama’s even engaging in a little Democrat-on-Democrat politics, as his ex-campaign arm is beaming TV ads into the home states of moderate fence-sitters on health care.
* * * * *

What is the premise behind insurance, anyway?
Insurance, in law and economics, is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent loss. Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another, in exchange for a premium, and can be thought of as a guaranteed small loss to prevent a large, possibly devastating loss.
A protection against a loss that may occur in the future, secured by payment to the party expected to reimburse against that loss, in an "equitable" (fair) manner.

For example: I buy a car and secure a loan to make the purchase. The bank requires me to carry insurance to protect against risk of loss, protecting not only the bank but me, as well. I do not want to pay for something I no longer own that was lost in an accident, and the bank does not want to lose their investment, so I pay Company X a fee to insure against that risk of loss. The case may well be that I never file a claim over the life of that loan and the insurance company gets to keep that money, having paid out nothing on my behalf. Is it a waste? Certainly not, since it bought peace of mind and protected me (and my bank) - just in case. I may even choose to continue that policy even after the bank releases the lien, if the value of the car is significant enough to warrant, to continue that peace of mind "just in case."

The same principle applies to homeowner's insurance. Short- and long-term disability insurance. Life insurance. Countless other types of coverage, to cover countless kinds of losses.

Then we get to health insurance. Goy has a great analysis on this, so I will let you read his insights on the monster health insurance has become - and solutions: (excerpt - please read the entire article, well worth it)

There was a time – not so long ago, for some of us – when people payed out-of-pocket for all of their health care. They either wrote a check at the time of service or they paid a bill that arrived in the mail. If they needed an expensive operation, they took out a loan, or worked out a payment plan with the vendor.

One day, some entrepreneur got the bright idea that if one could purchase insurance against such huge expenses, one wouldn’t need a loan. And the big selling point to the potential customer was this: by paying a nominal premium, one could get expensive health care at far less than what it would cost out-of-pocket, because others in the plan were helping to pay for it. Early plans, therefore, were the equivalent in many respects to today’s catastrophic health care plans – plans which cover medical expenses after they’ve reached a specific – usually fairly high – total (or “deductible” to use the insurance term).

In the meantime, we deal with double-talk, half-truths, and outright lies coming out of the White House. We are facing the potential loss of liberties and the pursuit of happiness, but also our very lives or the lives of loved ones. We will be burdened further with a complex and unnavigable system that costs more than it should and returns less than "equitable," appropriate, or even moral and ethical.

This is it, folks. THIS is the end of the line.

Obama: Speaking “Stupidly,” Not About Cop, But Afghanistan

Barack Obama, the nations fearless leader in training, stepped in it last evening, even overshadowing his pitch to convince us we need to accept his plunging the nation further in debt by accepting his socialist healthcare plan, when he chimed in about the arrest of prominent Black Harvard Professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Everybody and their brother is discussing his poor choice of words and He stands by his words, ignoring that the arresting officer is actually the one who teaches the Departments Racial Profiling course, or that he once tried desperately to save a Black basketball player who collapsed on the court. No, he doesn’t even consider his own prejudice towards the Cambridge PD over 15 unpaid parking tickets that he hurriedly paid just before launching his campaign for president.

No, this isn’t just another post addressing the “stupidly” made comment by Obama. This is about yet another “Stupidly” made comment, the second in 24 hours.

In an ABC Nightline interview that was to be broadcast Thursday, July 23, Obama was asked to define victory in Afghanistan.

As we all know, victory in the greater war on terror will not be a conventional victory as we are neither at war with a conventional enemy nor against a nation. We are fighting an elusive shadowing enemy that terrorizes civilians in order to oppress them under their distorted view of Islam’s Qu’Ran.

Basically, Obama chose to further inject Political Correctness into the war, just as they did when they decided we would not describe terrorist attacks as such, but call them “man-caused disasters.”

Although he claims to be putting securing Afghanistan near the top of his foreign policy agenda, he now indicates that victory in Afghanistan isn't necessarily the United States' goal.

Obama replied,

I'm always worried about using the word ‘victory’ because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur.”

No, you imbecile, in this war it means terrorists are so minimized that neither Americans nor inhabitants of those Muslim countries Al Qaeda has been attacking, excuse me, creating “man-caused disasters,” feel secure to live freely without fear of being blown to bits by radical Jihadists.

Obama, who was mid-way through his first term as a U.S. Senator, who has never served a day in the Military and who has few ex-Military members in top positions in his cabinet, shows the folly we continually see when liberal Democrats are placed in charge of the Military.

Lyndon Johnson micro-managed Viet Nam from the Oval Office, creating a disaster there for the Military, who never lost a battle, but was eventually forced to abandon the country, allowing the Communist North Vietnamese to attain their “Victory.”

Jimmy Carter launched a disastrous campaign designed to rescue hostages in Iran, even though he was told it wouldn’t work.

Bill Clinton turned a humanitarian mission in Somalia into a limited fight that resulted in the infamous Black Bird Down incident, where our fallen Troops dead bodies were drug through the streets of Mogadishu and showing Al Qaeda’s Osama bin Laden that Americans would not fight a sustained battle against him if he could just prolong it, as did the North Vietnamese.

And now, still relying on training wheels, Obama isn’t “comfortable with ‘victory.’ ”

But, he does say, “our goal is to make sure they can't attack the United States.”

How does he plan to accomplish that?

He continues,
But with respect to Afghanistan, what that means is -- or Pakistan, for that matter. What that means is that they cannot set up permanent bases and train people from which to launch attacks. And we are confident that if we are assisting the Afghan people and improving their security situation, stabilizing their government, providing help on economic development so they have alternatives to the heroin trade that is now flourishing.”

Trillions of dollars in debt and growing and we are to conduct “Peace Corps” missions in regards to terrorists?

It’s little wonder the violence is increasing since President Bush left office and this poseur; this scofflaw who wouldn’t even pay parking tickets was made America’s first Affirmative Action president.

It’s no surprise that his approval rating has dipped slightly lower than that of President Bush for the same period in his first term.

If we survive to 2012, we must make this Obama’s ONLY term!

UPDATE: July 15, 2008. Candidate Obama says, "Afghanistan is a war that we have to win"

BOOM

I'm kinda curious, myself. Like Rep. Miller said, unemployment here in Michigan has reached 15.2% and we see no signs of it letting up any time soon.

Suppressed Global Warming Report Submitted To Office of Science and Technology Policy

The Competitive Enterprise Institute has announced the report they compiled and previously submitted to the EPA, only to see it suppressed prior to the House vote on the Cap & Trade Bill, is resubmitting the report, but to the US Office of Science and Technology Policy this time.

Investors Business Daily revealed the suppression of the report in June and that it brings into serious question some of the claims used to justify ramming through the Waxman/Markey Bill, labeled by many as the greatest tax increase in our nations history.

Of importance in the study is that the earth’s temperatures have been declining since 1998, not warming.

CEI released their own announcement of the suppression and a series of emails “indicating the report was kept under wraps and its author silenced because of pressure to support the [Obama] Administration’s agenda of regulating carbon dioxide.”

With Democrats sweeping into complete dictatorial power in the 2006 and 2008 elections, American citizens were promised “the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history” by House Speaker Pelosi and an “unprecedented level of transparency” by Barack Obama.

Instead, we got a massive tax increase bill rammed through the House with no one having the opportunity to fully read or study the bill and suppression of material that brings honest questions into the discussion.

In injecting the suppressed report to the Office of Science and Technology Policy, CEI Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis says,

OSTP should be especially concerned about the possibility that other agencies and institutions may be so committed to certain points of view on these issues, that their procedures and assessments fail to fairly reflect new and contrary findings.”

Lewis also says,
In assessing these implications, OSTP should be especially concerned about the possibility that other agencies and institutions may be so committed to certain points of view on these issues, that their procedures and assessments fail to fairly reflect new and contrary findings.”

While everyone shares some concern over our environment, jumping off the deep end and bankrupting families by faulty claims of excessive warming and suppression of legitimate counter concerns is not in the best interests of the nation or our citizens.

I recall during the Bush years all the claims of his “fearmongering” by rightfully telling us we faced a continuing terrorist threat. I recall misguided claims of a “rush to war” without fully considering alternatives or all information available prior to any invasion.

Now, with those same ones holding dictatorial powers over the nation, they are the ones “fearmongering” and “rushing to bankruptcy” as well as suppressing any claims that may counter that agenda.

We deserve better. We deserve a full and open debate and unbiased studies, not reports that begin with a conclusion first.

Download and read Comments on "Charting the Course for Ocean Science" submitted to the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

The American Petroleum Institute also sees this “rush to bankruptcy” as they report on protests against this massive tax increase as seen recently in Richmond, Virginia.

CEI is asking OSTP to do an honest job assessing New Climate Research where the EPA did not.

We must stand up also and demand our elected officials stop this rush to socialism and keep their promises of “the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history” and the “unprecedented level of transparency.”

Suppressing legitimate evidence and reports while rushing ahead with a foregone conclusion is not what the promise of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is all about.

Funeral Services in Detroit For Michael Jackson Stuffed Animals

I have tried to avoid adding to the nuttiness we have seen engulf the nation after the untimely death of Pop singer, Michael Jackson late last month. But, seeing this one and how ridiculous fans have been just has to be mentioned.

Fans and mourners had left a number of stuffed animals and toys outside of the Motown Historical Museum located in Detroit, Michigan. Someone apparently decided that it would only be fitting to memorialize those stuffed animals with a burial in Woodland park cemetery, who donated two plots for the burial.

A headstone was donated and the stuffed animals were driven to the cemetery in two open hearses, filling both.

Unbelievable is that the hearses received a Police escort, at taxpayer expense!

Detroit is city that currently has some of the worst economic downturn in the nation and highest crime rates. So, instead of protecting the cities citizens, two Police cars were diverted to escort two hearses filled with stuffed animals!

Stuffed animals! Toys!

Debbie Schlussel has 3 news videos up on her site covering the burial and procession.

The Detroit News ran an article criticizing the use of taxpayer paid Police vehicles Saturday, July 18.

Seeing and hearing the gushiness of fans who felt this to be the most appropriate way to handle those stuffed animals left outside of the Motown Historical Museum leaves me wondering about the sanity of some people in the country.

Not only was Michael Jackson just another entertainer, although a popular one, our Soldiers, Sailor, Marines and Airmen sacrificing their lives to protect America barely rate scant mention in the media, where Jackson’s death received weeks of coverage.

What really makes me wonder, though, is that since fans claim Jackson cared so much for children, wouldn’t it have been more fitting to have donated the stuffed animals to abused children, orphans and children’s hospitals to bring a smile to their faces instead of burying them in the ground?

When The Inept Lead The Country

For the entire 8 years of the Bush administration, all we heard was how inept he was, how bad the economy was and how he took us into an unnecessary and illegal war.

The country believed the rhetoric and in 2006, rewarded those who cried out for a “New Direction” by sweeping Democrats into Congressional Power.

In 2008, further Democrat rhetoric swept the current administration into the White House on the promise of “Change you can believe in.” So many Americans felt their prayers were answered and everything was now as it should be.

Six months into this “Change we can believe in,” we are trillions of dollars deeper in debt, unemployment is skyrocketing and all we hear are promises of more the same to come.

The relentless assault on President Bush lessened for a while after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and Democrats agreed overwhelmingly to take the fight back to the terrorists in Afghanistan and also in Iraq in 2003.

By 2004, with the candidacy of John ‘F’in Kerry on his tired old anti-war theme, that support faded and stronger rhetoric than ever returned to the political field. Kerry lost to President Bush, but the rhetoric remained and even grew.

The 2006 congressional campaign saw Nancy Pelosi’s call for ‘A New Direction’ that included the promise of, “REAL SECURITY - AT HOME AND OVERSEAS.”

Speaker Pelosi’s pamphlet says under that title,

Reclaim American leadership with a tough, smart plan to transform failed Bush Administration policies in Iraq, the Middle East and around the world. Require the Iraqis to take responsibility for their country and begin the phased redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq in 2006. Double the size of Special Forces to destroy Osama Bin Laden and terrorist networks like al Qaeda. Rebuild a state-of-the-art military capable of projecting power wherever necessary. Implement the bipartisan 9/11 Commission proposal to secure America’s borders and ports and screen 100% of containers. Fully man, train, and equip our National Guard and our police, firefighters and other first responders. Honor our commitments to our veterans.”

Obama campaigned on promises of, “removing our troops from Iraq immediately, shutting down Guantánamo, rebuilding the Military for 21st century tasks and fully equipping the Troops for the missions they face,” among several other promises.

Once in power, reality set in and the immediate removal of Troops from Iraq grew into a 19-month gradual withdrawal that may even go longer.

Orders to close Guantánamo within a year left the new administration pondering just what to do with the internees and the eventual retention of Bush policies of holding certain one indefinitely.

Rebuilding and reequipping the Troops became propositions of Defense budget cuts and cancellations of Defense weapons contracts.

During President Bush’s last term, anti-war rhetoric grew with the likes of Cindy Sheehan and Medea Benjamin’s Code Pink staging protests and blockage of Recruitment Office’s, with many Democrats agreeing and letting young people who thought about enlisting in one of the Armed Services what fools they would be.

Our Troops were called “cold-blooded murderers,” compared to Nazi’s and Soviet Gulags and told if they didn’t study hard to stay in college, they would end up in Iraq, insinuating again how dumb they would be if they enlisted in the Military.

Threats of defunding our Troops in the field were a constant drone, as Democrats demanded firm withdrawal dates they never received under George W. Bush.

The constant drone of ineptness overshadowed all of this and more and anti-war fervor whipped up Democrats and they took complete dictatorial control of the country in the 2008 elections.

Only now, they are in the driver’s seat and fumbling along trying to figure out what to do.

Even though plunging the country into a debt higher than in all of our history and gradually withdrawing Troops from Iraq, a build-up and more intense fighting is in store for Afghanistan. It now seems that their calls years ago for increased NATO involvement in Afghanistan proved to be less than desirable as Taliban forces strengthened their numbers and again threaten to retake the country.

After years of undermining efforts to fight terrorists, now they must lead the fight.

Repeating much of the failed leadership observed during the Viet Nam War by Democrat Lyndon Johnson and his administration, our troops have been given ridiculous Rules of engagement that if they are fired upon from a home where civilians “might” still be, they are not to return fire but to withdraw.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal says,
if there is a compound they’re taking fire from and they can remove themselves from the area safely, without any undue danger to the forces, then that’s the option they should take, because in these compounds we know there are often civilians kept captive by the Taliban.”

Great, broadcast to our enemies where they may safely hold up and kill our Troops from while tying the hands of the Troops at the same time.

We see VP Biden now telling Iraqi leaders that “if Iraq fell into a period of sectarian violence or engaged in ethnic fighting, such a step would change the nature of U.S. engagement,” insinuating a sped up withdrawal and abandonment, as Democrats forced on to South Viet Nam in the early 1970’s, again invalidating the sacrifices of many American Troops.

Just this weekend, we saw Defense Secretary Robert Gates come out saying,
After the Iraq (war) experience, nobody is prepared to have a long slog where it is not apparent we are making headway. The troops are tired. The American people are pretty tired.”

Did Secretary Gates forget he has been over seeing that theater of the War on Terror for over two years now?

Now, after many years of relentless pounding into the American youth’s heads that they were foolish to enlist in the Military and years of Democrats playing down President Bush’s warnings of an ongoing terrorist threat, Secretary Gates is now ordering the US Army to add 22,000 Troops.

Amazingly, Gates also says he
will not seek additional money for the extra troops in the 2009 and 2010 fiscal year budgets.”

We still await Speaker Pelosi’s 2006 promise of “Double the size of our Special Forces, increase our human intelligence capabilities, and ensure our intelligence is free from political pressure,” while at the same time she is accusing the CIA of regularly lying to congress as she tries to distance herself from complicity in the enhanced interrogation techniques she once approved of.

We wait for Obama to untie the hands of our Troops and let them fight as they were trained to end this war they do not wish to see drug out.

We wait to see them actually receive the tools they need to win this fight instead of squandering funds bailing out failing businesses and funding illegal aliens entitlements programs.

We wait to see them counter the anti-war rhetoric they whipped up when Bush was president.

We wait for this “change we can believe in,” seeing that the promised “New Direction” is nothing more than a bankrupt nation and socialism under inept leadership.

We wait for the next election in hopes the nation wakes up and returns some strength and sanity to our leadership.

Looney Ron Paul; Jealous of Sarah Palin Too?

Ron Paul, the looney Libertarian who has twice ran for president and never even came close to the Oval Office, other than a visit, has come out attacking Alaska’s soon to be former governor, Sarah Palin.

Although I consider Paul to be a whiny nutcase, primarily on his foreign policies and advocacy of stripping America of sound security measures, he was the last one I thought would become infected with Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Sarah Plain stands straight and speaks forcefully, compared to Paul’s whiny performances in the debates last year. Still they share some similarities in independence from the party, both being somewhat mavericks.

Shortly after being selected as John McCain’s Vice Presidential choice, Mrs. Palin was asked about Paul in an MTV interview. She said of him,

He's a good guy. He’s so independent. He’s independent of the party machine. I’m like, ‘Right on, so am I.’ ”

In return, Paul is quoted in a Politico article dismissing Mrs. Palin’s supporters as
more establishment, conventional Country-Club type of Republicans.”

On Mrs. Palin herself, he states,
I wonder whether she’s energizing the 15-20 year olds. That would be a question I would have. Because she doesn’t talk about the Federal Reserve and some of these issues. She doesn’t talk too much about personal liberties, civil liberties, getting rid of drug laws, attacking the war on drugs, punishing people who torture.”

No, she instead addresses real issues facing the nation. In her announcement speech on her resignation from the governor’s office of Alaska, she spoke of Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have being her priorities and that they will remain her priorities.

Country Club Republican is a derogatory expression used towards Republicans considered to have higher than average income or wealth, lack of sympathy with lower income citizens, and liberal views on abortion, gay rights, and other social issues.

Asked by John Stossel in December 2007, “Should gays be allowed to marry?” Paul answered, “sure.”

Sarah Palin says marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Paul advocate legalizing drugs, Sarah Palin does not.

By definition, Paul is more of a “Country Club Republican” than any Palin supporter I know, my wife and I included.

Ron Paul made a lot of noise in the 2008 campaigns. He raised a lot of money and misled a lot of people. But he could only gather some 35 delegates. He did even poorer when he ran as a Libertarian candidate in 1988.

For him to now come out attacking Sarah Palin, who isn’t even running a campaign currently, tells me he is as jealous as can be of her success and fame while he fades away into the morass of political irrelevancy, regardless of what his glassy eyed, brainwashed supporters might think.

Sarah Palin energized conservatives in America like few other people have. She faced unprecedented attacks against her family and herself, all because she is a woman of strength and character who would shake up the “good old boy” network Ron Paul slinks around in.

Paul rails against earmarks in bills, but then inserted 22 earmarks worth $96.1 million into an Omnibus bill earlier this year, making him the number one Republican to receive earmarks.

It is little wonder the country rejected a candidate who is as much of a hypocrite as Paul or one who is passing into obscurity and decides he must trash a woman who is twice the man he will ever be.

Sometimes I don’t know who is the bigger loon, Paul or that relatively small number of starry-eyed, in your face, bloviators who worship his ever word and think they will be able to sell their rejected ideology by high jacking the Republican Party.

Attacking Sarah Palin and alienating conservatives will only appeal to that very Country Club Republican sect Paul accuses us of being. It sure won’t gain him any support amongst rank and file Republicans.

If it isn’t jealousy, it’s fear. Fear that she will clean his clock should both decide to run in 2012, when Paul will be a feeble 76 year old and Sarah a spry 48 year old.

Stay Strong Honduras, You May Be Freedoms Last Stand

Falsely labeled as a coup d'état, the Honduran government, through their Military, deposed their president, Manuel Zelaya in June due to his illegal conduct in efforts to bypass the tiny country’s constitution.

Ever since they have been under assault from outside forces, including the United States current Obama administration to reseat Zelaya and in opposition to Honduras’s constitution and the wishes of the majority of its citizens.

Left-leaning media and supporters of worldwide Socialism have spared no effort in obscuring the legal maneuver of the Honduran government and ignore the deposed leaders call for insurrection, civil war, to return him to power for a scant 3 months, the scheduled termination of his constitutionally limited one term in November, 2009.

Costa Rican President Oscar Arias, mediating talks between the deposed leader and the interim government of Roberto Micheletti continues calling for Zelaya’s return and proposed a “unity government.”

Hidden within the proposal is the proposition to “grant amnesty for all political crimes committed before and after the June 28 coup.”

That proposal would negate Honduras’s charging Zelaya with the very crimes against “the economy, the citizenry and against the constitution” that brought about his ouster and could also allow him to reinstate the massive planned voter fraud to change the Honduran constitution to allow him to serve more than one term, that has been uncovered since his ouster.

Zelaya continues his threats to slink back into Honduras and set up a parallel government, undoubtedly to lead revolutionaries from other Latin American countries from which he will “lead the final battle against coup leaders.”

Initially, Zelaya accepted the terms of the proposed “unity government,” but has since said he “would not accept any form of power-sharing government,” claiming it would “unjustly reward coup leaders.”

In effect, should he win reinstatement, the entire Honduran government that unanimously voted for his ouster would have to be replaced, ostensibly with supporters of Zelaya who would then be free to allow Zelaya to impose his de facto dictatorship he was trying to set up.

On the other hand, interim President Roberto Micheletti has said that he is willing to step down only if Zelaya is not allowed to resume office and to move the date of the election up to allow the Honduran people to elect a new president.

Zelaya calls for Civil War.

Which man really has the best interests of the Hondurans at heart over his own personal ambition?

The Hondurans acted within the legal parameters of their constitution and are now attempting to uphold the rule of law.

Unlike bloody coups and revolutions of the past where deposed leaders were killed and Military Dictators seized power, there was no bloodshed in ousting Zelaya and the Military swiftly turned the presidency over to the Honduran Congress, who swore in Roberto Micheletti as interim president.

Instead of being praised for a peaceful ousting of a criminal leader, they have been ostracized by world leaders who demand the criminal be returned to power in such a deceptive manner that he would be free to oppress the Honduran people as he chooses.

While the world is focused on battling radical Jihadists in the Middle East, the age-old scourge of communism, masquerading as socialism or progressiveness, is attacking on the flanks of freedom lovers in Latin America.

Honduras must be supported.

Zelaya must not be returned to power. His call for civil war alone should wake up the masses to his real intent.

As more and more Latin Americans lose their freedoms to Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez’s socialism he is spreading across the hemisphere, tiny Honduras may represent freedoms last stand.

Walter Cronkite: Only The Good Die Young

Walter Cronkite, long-time news reporter and anchorman for CBS News has died at the age of 92.

Labeled by many as “iconic” and “the most trusted man in America,” I cannot share that view of this man. Like Debbie Schlussel, I have no tears to shed for a man who held the responsibility of responsibly and honestly reporting the news to America, deliberately gave a false view of our involvement in the nation of Viet Nam during the 1960’s.

Much of America listened every evening to the man they trusted and never suspected that he was beginning the very biased news against America that helped lead America down the path of the communist nation we are now becoming.

In the Viet Nam War, many seemed to be surprised by the sudden attacks across the nation in the Tet of 68 offensive. Even though our intelligence was at best sketchy, American and South Vietnamese were not caught totally off guard and the offensive launched by the North Vietnamese Communist ended up a huge failure for the Communist North Militarily. Their numbers were decimated and it took many years for them to recover and launch the final drive South, defeating the South Vietnamese who no longer received any aid from America due to Democrat congressional policies.

In many regards the Tet of 68 Offensive was very similar to Germany’s Battle of the Bulge in World War Two, a desperate attempt.

It is ironic that Cronkite reported on both battles of desperation, accurately reporting the Bravery and steadfastness of World War Troops who pushed back the Nazi’s, but labeling our decisive victory in Tet as a “stalemate” and “unwinnable” in a broadcast aired on February 27, 1968 upon his return to America from Viet Nam and ending that broadcast with,

it is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out then will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could.”

Abandoning a struggling ally is hardly “the best they could do,” as millions of Asians in Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos paid with their lives as Communism spread across Southeast Asia and untold thousands more lost their lives as they desperately tried escaping the throes of Communism in rickety boats across the South China Sea in what was labeled the Boat People.

In an October 2000 speech, retired General Fredrick Weyand, who commanded II Field Force during the Tet of 68 offensive said in part,
After Tet, General Westmoreland sent Walter Cronkite out to interview me. I was in Command of the Forces in the South around Saigon and below and I was proud of what we'd done. We had done a good job there. So, Walter came down and he spent about an hour and a half interviewing me. And when we got done, he said, “well you've got a fine story. But I'm not going to use any of it because I've been up to Hue. I've seen the thousands of bodies up there in mass graves and I'm determined to do all in my power to bring this war to an end as soon as possible.”

It didn't seem to matter that those thousands of bodies were of South Vietnamese citizens who had been killed by the Hanoi soldiers and Walter wasn't alone in this because I think many in the media mirrored his view…”

When I was in Paris at the Peace Talks, it was the most frustrating assignment I think I ever had. Sitting in that conference, week after week listening to the Hanoi negotiators, Le Duc Tho and his friends lecture us. Reading from the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Herald Tribune, the Atlanta Constitution, NBC, CBS, you name it. Their message was always the same. “Hey, read your newspapers, listen to your TV. The American people want you out of Vietnam. Now, why don't you just go ahead and get out?” So finally a Peace Agreement was signed that everyone knew would be violated and with no recourse or hope of enforcement on our part.”

General Weyand went on to say he doesn’t blame the media entirely for the outcome of the war, but Cronkite’s words expressing how he had no intention of reporting the Battle truthfully evidence how the media spearheaded the anti-war effort at turning public opinion against the effort to keep the South Vietnamese free and towards supporting the Communist Forces of the North.

In short, he sold out America and our Troops as well as millions of Southeast Asians.

In the days ahead many will label Cronkite as “iconic,” “legendary,” and heap accolades upon him I feel are undeserved. Cronkite himself called what he said on Vietnam as his “proudest achievement.”

It escapes me how having the blood of millions of people, over 40,000 of which are American Soldiers on your hands could be seen as his “proudest achievement.”

Uncle Walt, as he was affectionately known, is gone. Dead at the age of 92 and who lived much longer than many of my brothers whose blood is on his hands that he sold out. His death at this ripe old age reinforces the old adage, “only the good die young.”

I have no tears for the man but offer condolences to his family and loved ones.

Others who sold out the Vietnamese and American Troops will join him one day. Jane Fonda, John Kerry, Ramsey Clark, Bill Ayers and so many others who today lavish themselves with the very luxuries they called for others to scorn as they spoke out against a free Viet Nam will also face the grim reaper in time.

Just as I hope and pray for Walter Cronkite, they too should face every single one of those well more than 40,000 American Troops their anti-American conduct helped kill on their descent to hell!

Congress Tries To Save Auto Dealers. Too Little, Too Late?

During the recent bankruptcies of both Chrysler Corporation and General Motors, much of America and Congress stood by as both passed judgment on hundreds of Auto Dealers around the country, pulling their franchises, effectively putting them out of business and handing the franchises to other dealerships, free of charge.

Ignored by all as the White House manipulated these closings and handed down directives to receive his socialist help is that the very proceedings by-stepped and ignored individual state laws on franchises.

Over a month later news is coming out that both Houses of Congress, seeing how many they threw into the unemployment lines, are taking steps now to “protect and reinstate dealers” that so unceremoniously lost their franchises.

With Obama announcing his opposition to such measures, I feel these moves are just another smoke screen thrown up to convince voters they tried and not to be held accountable for all the newly unemployed laid off from so many dealerships.

Should, by some fluke, the auto dealers regain their lost franchises, it will most likely be too little too late.

For example, the auto dealership I was employed at for 19 ½ years as a technician is one of those that lost their franchise in Chryslers closing of 789 dealers. Locally, we were known as Vancouver Mazda Dodge owned by Allen Webb since October 2005.

Webb has retained his Mazda franchise and has renamed the Dodge portion to “Used Car City.” Webb recently finished and moved the dealership from it former location in Hazel Dell to a new $11 Million facility, just weeks before losing the franchise.

Many bloggers discovered a disproportionate number of dealers losing their franchises that supported Republican candidates over those who supported Democrat candidates, fueling much speculation on the closing having a political payback motive.

Nothing has ever been proven in that regard.

It is doubtful that played any part in Webb’s case, as he is a Democrat.

In my estimation, Webb brought on his own problems as from the time he purchased the dealership, adding it to others in his Auto Group, a series of mismanagement and bad calls coupled with poor customer service in the last year doomed the dealership as the long time customer ship present when he purchased it just walked away.

The day he took over the dealership the entire sales crew walked out, with only one returning right away and just for a short time.

When he purchased the dealership, we were known as Clark County’s Dodge Truck store, selling and servicing an awful lot of Dodge Trucks, especially the Cummins Diesel models. We had a contingent of factory-trained technicians that had been employed with the previous owner 20 years or more, the newest technician being employed with the dealership 4 or 5 years.

Dealership Service Departments with that many long term technicians is nearly unheard of in the trade, giving us an advantage over other dealers as customers new us by name and felt comfortable bring their vehicles to a shop with such stability. Many would drop their cars or truck off and step into the Service Managers Office to chat with “John,” as they knew him well and trusted us.

We weathered previous recessions due to such trust and familiarity with customers who knew they would receive the best service possible.

None of this was good enough for Webb as he first trusted the newly acquired dealership to a General Manager who decided to put Dodge on the back burner and build up the inventory of Mazda Vehicles. That began losing sales as buyers began looking elsewhere for the trucks or cars they desired while Mazda sales rose only slightly.

Adding to the demise of the dealership was to pressure the Service Manager to leave and bring in more of a “yes-man” who was recently fired from another dealer, a Jeep Dealer that today, remains in business.

“John” realized that in order to keep well-trained and knowledgeable technicians, we must have an opportunity to make up lost pay from when we spent much time on difficult warranty diagnosis and repairs. Webb had decided that the “soup” work should go to lesser-paid lube techs so that service jobs would make him more profit personally.

“Floyd,” the new Service Manager, began right away alienating long term technicians as he brought with him other techs, not trained explicitly in Dodge, including his own son. Within a few months, as better paying jobs went to the new people “Floyd” brought with him and long term techs saw their paychecks dry up, those who had carried the dealer through rough financial times in the past began leaving, 4 in one day alone in September 2008.

Undeterred and leading many to think that was “Floyd” and Webb’s intent, more from the Jeep dealer were brought over as that one began recovering. More long-term customers began going elsewhere as they began discovering the trust they were used to enjoying was no longer there, as the new crew began their “shake them down” attitude towards customers.

Hours were changed to 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM 3 days a week per split crews, further leaving owners at the whims of the new “shake them down” crew who would at times leave a car set the 4 days they were off until they worked again.

New and confusing computer systems were instituted that managed dispatching of jobs and even time keeping for technicians.

In all it rapidly deteriorated into a very stressful workplace leaving older employees exhausted and with much lower paychecks to show for their years of loyalty.

The last long term Dodge technician was terminated June 16, 2009 just days after the franchise was pulled. The remaining technicians are all of the “shake them down” attitude and struggling to survive on used cars or those customers who may think there are still factory trained Dodge technicians there.

What they really receive are recommendations for unnecessary services and even unneeded repairs as the “shake them down” techs fumble through diagnoses.

In the final end, Allen Webb has no one to blame for losing his franchise but himself and his business decisions.

I find it unlikely that any of the franchises would be restored, given Obama’s strong opposition to the plan, but the off chance Webb were to regain his franchise, would it do him any good?

I’m sure that given time, a new customer base would be built and new technicians could be properly trained and hired, but he would never be able to rebuild what he threw away, either in technicians or the same customers who steadily purchased vehicles and returned for service and repairs.

It took the previous owner as well as “John” and every one of us techs years to build up that loyalty. It took just months to lose it.

I imagine other dealers around America have lost similar business base and technicians and also face the poor likelihood of regaining them in their employ.

While I still think the proposal is more of a smoke screen than anything, to negate an obvious vote loser for them, if Obama signed it into law, it will do little good over all as it will be just too little too late.

Perhaps everyone should thought the matter out better instead of jumping headlong into such a bad decision in order to nationalize the auto industry and alienate the customer base.

Man Up Obama, Recognize The Honduran Government

As we all know, the Honduran government deposed sitting president, Manuel Zelaya some weeks ago.

Falsely labeled a coup d'état, the move was in accord with the Honduran constitution and widely supported by the Honduran people.

No world leader will now recognize the newly installed Honduran government and demand the return of the deposed Zelaya, including Barack Obama.

Roberto Micheletti, current Honduran president installed by the Honduran Congress after deposing Zelaya, has offered to hold early elections and step aside while refusing to allow Manuel Zelaya to return to power.

Talks have been held in Costa Rica with no success in settling what Zelaya calls a dispute, but in actuality is his desire to continue ruining tiny Honduras.

There has been one death to date in the Zelaya called for protests, backed by Venezuela’s Socialist leader, Hugo Chavez.

In what I can only see as complete irony, the deposed Zelaya has now issued a call for citizen insurrection within Honduras.

Other words for “insurrection” would include, “coup d'‚tat, insurgency, revolution, rebellion, and mutiny.” In short, Zelaya calls for the country to plunge itself into a Civil War.

The irony is in Zelaya’s words of,

The Honduran people have the right to insurrection,” and “Insurrection is a legitimate democratic right when faced with a usurping government and a coup-supporting military,” as he urges his supporters in Honduras to “strike, march and engage in civil disobedience because that is a necessary process when the democratic order of a country is disrupted.

I hate to be the one to point out the obvious to the deposed Manuel Zelaya, but isn’t that what the Honduran people have done, through their duly elected officials and in accord with their constitution?

The difference is, they deposed Zelaya without bloodshed. Perhaps not in the most appropriate or dignified manner, but bloodshed and bloody insurrection was avoided and the country’s constitution and Democratic spirit remains intact.

In true Socialist fashion, Zelaya sits outside the country issuing ultimatums for his immediate return knowing he has the backing of Obama, the Organization of American States and the U.N. General Assembly, in spite of the vast majority of Hondurans agreeing with his ouster.

Honduras is functioning within the boundaries of their constitution and should be recognized. Zelaya’s call for plunging the country into a bloody Civil War shows he is not fit to lead Honduras and should not be returned to the presidency.

In a related matter, we now read of a formerly wealthy entrepreneur, Allen Anderrson, who spent his fortune not only on building libraries for poor communities in Honduras, but by his own admission, played presidential kingmaker in Honduras . . . and won.

Anderrson proudly describes what he calls "shenanigans" that he orchestrated in the final days of the 2005 presidential election that propelled Zelaya into power. Anderrson calls it a
saga sprinkled with heaps of cash, private detectives, sting operations, attack ads, internecine squabbles and Anderrson's own epic grudge against the opposition candidate, wealthy, Pepe Lobo.”

In Anderrson’s own words,
I just had a taste of blood in my mouth. My mission was not to avoid poverty or bankruptcy or disgrace; my mission was to beat Pepe Lobo.”

Anderrson, a self-described “imperfectly socialized person” with the appearance of an “aging-hippie-who-made-it” look is indicative of many leftists stuck in their draft dodging anti-Vietnam attitudes from long ago. Anderrson says he was “a very, very serious draft dodger, devoting years to the study and practice of draft dodging to avoid the Vietnam War.”

Yet, he also says of his own wealth,
I decided that if I could make a couple billion dollars, I could do truly revolutionary things in Central America.”

Somehow, it escapes these draft-dodging long hairs that they are engaging in the very “horrible, pointless and wicked exercise” they describe Viet Nam as being when they decide they can manipulate what goes inside of a sovereign nation like Honduras.

Mr. Obama, it is past time for you to be a real leader. Man-up and recognize the Honduran government currently governing a nation desiring only peace and to remain free.

Man-up and extradite Allen Anderrson for prosecution for his “meddling” into Honduran internal affairs and manipulating an election, denying free Hondurans a proper voice in their own elections.

Man-up, Obama. Stop being a wuss being led around by the nose by the likes of the Cuba’s Castro brothers and Venezuela’s Chavez.

Man-up, Obama! Recognize the Hondurans right to create their own “Hope and Change” as Yes, they did!

Are Democrats Intentionally Wrecking The Economy?

In 2007, Democrats swept into congressional power on a promise of increasing the minimum wage. They carried out their promise and the increase in minimum wage began in July 2007.

At the time they swept into power, also telling the country just how bad everything under Bush was, unemployment hovered between 4.4% to 4.6%

As the minimum wage increase took effect in July, unemployment began a steady trend of climbing to its current rate of 9.5%

Unemployment rates:

2007: January, 4.6; February, 4.5; March, 4.4; April, 4.5; May, 4.5; June, 4.6; July, 4.7; August, 4.7; September, 4.7; October, 4.8; November, 4.7; December, 4.9;

2008: January, 4.9; February, 4.8; March, 5.1; April, 5.0; May, 5.5; June, 5.6; July, 5.8; August, 6.2; September, 6.2; October, 6.6; November, 6.8; December, 7.2;

2009: January, 7.6; February, 8.1; March, 8.5; April, 8.9; May, 9.4; June, 9.5.

Of course, increasing the minimum wage is not solely responsible for the ever-increasing unemployment, but it must share and accept its portion of the blame.

The meltdown of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, triggering massive mortgage failures.

Calling for more and more taxes upon all, but being hidden by calling it only a tax on the wealthy.

Borrowing trillions of dollars from China and Saudi Arabia, while refusing to create jobs and end our dependence on foreign oil.

All and more have contributed to the current economic troubles we face and blaming Bush, while just pushing through more and more Democrat Socialist ideology, just keeps unemployment climbing and shoves the worth of our money further down.

It seems as if this is Obama and his Democrat cabal’s intent.

Obama now says, “The hard truth is that some of the jobs that have been lost in the auto industry and elsewhere won’t be coming back. They are the casualties of a changing economy.”

As one of those “casualties of the changing economy,” I can only say, “go to hell, Obama.”

You and your Democrat cabal continue to wreck the country with your socialism and you look upon us, the hard working Americans, as just “casualties of a changing economy?”

No, we are real flesh and blood people who have worked all of our lives, played by the rules, raised families and some of us fought for our country.

All we have asked in return is the ability of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

Under you neo-coms, we no longer have that, but we are just faceless numbers to you.

You are an embarrassment to hard-working Blacks who also work hard and just try to raise their families. You are an embarrassment to the country as the first Black president.

Most of all, you are an embarrassment to yourself as you stumble along without a clue of what you are doing.

America, why do you continue to return these democrat idiots to office?

Are you all just lazy? Or gluttons for punishment?

Boy, do I ever miss George W. Bush.

Move Over Ehren Watada

Ehren Watada, anti-war Lieutenant who became the sweetheart of the left and Bush haters across the nation in 2006 has company.

Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook has refused to deploy to Afghanistan now citing reasons of conscience.

His reason of conscience? Since Obama has never released an actual birth certificate to clear up his party’s and families claim that he was born in Kenya, not America, Obama is not the president and cannot legally send any Military on deployment.

I will be watching with great curiosity to see if the anti-war left will side with a refusal of an Army office to deploy under Obama as they did under President Bush.

Of course, Obama could just show his actual birth certificate, but we are still waiting on failed Democrat candidate from 2004, John Kerry, to open his Military records, as promised, to the public.

It’s Time To Be America Again

A little over two centuries ago, a young and energetic country was born out of the wilderness of North America. In less than two centuries she grew into a major super power and gave the world that begs for freedom and liberty a beacon of hope.

It never was a perfect country, but one that sought to be the very best that it could be. She had spirit and believed in the innate desire of humans to be free to grow and build on their dreams.

Poor from all over flocked to her shores to take part in the dream of freedom and liberty for all. When she lost direction and denied those freedoms to some, it was corrected and locked doors were opened.

From the cast-offs of every other nation, the non-elite, even the uneducated that thrived on common sense, the mightiest nation the world has ever seen was born. Her might did not come about solely from arms and munitions, but from the heart of the people who settled her. It came as a result of their freedom to build on her and to thrive where so many others before her held their people back, to retain the power in the hands of the elite ruler class.

In fact, the real power of this new nation came from the people to the government, not from the government to the people.

Along the way, though, something happened. Dreams, self determination, reliance on self and looking out for your neighbors took a back seat to easy dependency from the government and not wanting to get involved.

Where dominant political parties came together for the betterment of the country, they now seek only the power of the party over the other.

Where we used to watch movies and our favorite actors and actresses for entertainment, we now look to them to testify before our government and to tell us how to make our lives better, even though they as a class are steeped heavily in divorces, drug abuse, dysfunctional families and most every debauchery known.

Not to mention their livelihood depends on selling fantasy to the public.

I have a big problem with listening to wealthy elitist snobs out of Hollywood complaining about someone else having “more than their fair share.”

We used to not tolerate public officials who violated the public trust or were found to engage in extramarital trysts. Nor did we tolerate those that stole from the people or didn’t pay their share of taxes, while demanding we do.

Today we see elected officials taking extended vacations anywhere in the world and charging us for their pleasures, even though we pay them no less than $175,000 a year and bestow them with generous benefits.

Our Presidents children were considered ‘off-limits’ when it came to political jabs at each other, as was shown in 1950 when President Truman let a critic of his only daughter, Margaret know that he would receive a sound punch in the nose if they ever met.

Today, as we saw during the 2008 campaign season, one candidate’s family was heavily drug through the mud with every mean-spirited nasty utterance her critics could come up with, true or not.

Where the media would exercise self-restraint and avoided such offensive gossip, today they run it as headlines, provided it is against the party they despise. If of the party they support, they oppress negative news.

While humorous jabs and criticisms of politicians has always been our norm, we did not subject them or their families to vitriolic slurs or slanders and would not tolerate “jokes” about one of their teenaged daughters being raped and write it off as “they need to get a thick skin, it was just a joke.”

We did not look upon our Military Service members as ‘cold blooded murderers’ or ‘baby killers,’ but paid them respect and due honors for sacrificing for our freedom and liberty.

That is the America I grew up in. That is the America that led the world towards freedom and liberty for all. That is the America that stood up to tyranny and fought with all she had to help the world end it twice before.

That is the America that today, seems to have been just a dream, unless you lived during those times.

Today, we have a political party that preaches dependency upon them, instead of teaching self-reliance. A party that hands out pittances to minorities in ghettoes instead of encouraging them to take advantage of a free education, to study hard and make something of themselves.

Americans, those who migrated from all over the globe and built this country to her greatness did not rely on government handouts to achieve greatness, they built it with their own two hands.

They planted the farms, built the corporations, did the research and achieved the highest living standard in the history of the world.

None were a success because of handouts from a government.

We now have citizens and officials alike who will tell us what we achieved was wrong and how we took more than our fair share. But, who are they to decide what someone’s “fair share” is?

In the case of politicians, they seem to feel their “fair share” is as much as they can manage to take from us, leaving us with little to provide for our families.

America is on a path of self-destruction and is at risk of being taken over by our former enemies as we continue to borrow trillions of dollars to bailout failing corporations and oppressive labor unions.

As a nation of free and independent people we thrived. We grew strong and prosperous. We opened doors for people that had never been opened before. We set out to win and did not give up or surrender.

We had pride in ourselves without the arrogance seen in our government today.

We can be that people again. We can be a strong beacon of hope for the world again. We can unite and stop the rapid slide into government dependency that is destroying us from within.

We did not get where we used to be by dependence on government handouts, but by our own stubborn self-reliance and determination.

We can stop the hateful words of those that can’t tolerate the greatness we had before or that would stifle dissent and only allow their view to be spoken.

We can demand our paychecks come to us and not go to more government giveaways.

We can elect politicians who will stand up for America’s freedom and our people first.

We can stand up with each other and demand our true constitutional rights be respected and restored.

It can and must be done if we are to retain our freedoms and liberties.

On this 233rd Birthday of our nation, it is time to stand together for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It is time to be America again!

Sarah Palin To Step Down As Alaska’s Governor

Liberals are surely delighted, thinking they won and have forced her out of office, but they will surely be in for a surprise.

Palin Quits as Alaska Governor

After stunning the world and being subjected to a before unheard of vitriolic assault on her person and members of her family, Mrs. Palin announced today that she will step down as governor of Alaska at the end of July, handing the state over to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell.

Seeing how she energized the conservatives in the country, detractors set out on a course of mean-spirited vitriol to destroy the woman, politically if not personally.

In a telephone interview with Fox News, her brother stated that due to an excess of frivolous complaints against her and at great expense, she felt she could not devote the time necessary to properly govern Alaska.

15 ethics complaints have been dismissed, but enemies of Patriotic America will not cease their onslaught of a decent person.

This is the America you voted for, politics of personal destruction on steroids.

Liberals, don’t think for a minute you have won, you haven’t. You have only fired the first volley and we intend to fire back like you have never seen.

Mrs. Palin places her constituents above her goals and places her family’s interests first.

The phony you placed in the White House is ripping he country apart and faces scorn now too.

No more nice stuff!

Like General Yamamoto was credited with saying after the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, you are awakening a sleeping giant, decent hard working Americans who believe in fairness and America, not the socialist hand-outs.

Mrs. Palin may be setting up for a run for President in 2012 and believe you me, she will be a formidable candidate if that is her intent.

Regardless of what RINO’s say, many in America love this lady and even some not so mean hearted liberals see the underhanded destruction wrought against this woman and her family, for no legitimate reason other than the left’s fear of her.

Rejoice if you please, liberals, but don’t be surprised to find her sitting in the White House come January 20, 2013.

America won’t forget your vitriol and as often happens, what goes around, comes around.

Palin announces resignation

Lt. Gov. Response to Palin’s Announcement

My Deepest Apologies

Following a complicated course from conception resulting from acts of brutality....
To traumatic birth in the midst of a long and bloody labor resulting in tremendous loss of life....

Emerging from the womb a vulnerable infant - yet lying deep within, the potential to realize great deeds and even greater hope for the future: The dream of a father as he holds his newborn son and imagines the possibilities of where this child could lead his family, his community, his nation.

The United States of America is just such a child.

Conceived by the Founding Fathers in an act of sedition - retribution for acts of violence and injuries committed against a people - and birthed on a battlefield stained with the blood of tens of thousands of men willing to sacrifice their honor, their wealth - their very lives - to give that needed breath of life to the newborn child unable to take it on its own.

These men dreamed of freedom, not only for themselves but for their children and their children's children, for anyone who felt that visceral tug to partake of the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Throughout the generations, countless others have sacrificed all they had to ensure that this child, the United States - their brother - continued to breathe.

This was their legacy.

The republic is still in its infancy, a mere 233 years old. Sadly, we face the possibility that it may never reach adolescence, let alone maturity. Too many have stopped the actions needed to keep breath flowing in and out. Some have decided to steal that breath, rather than to give it.

Resuscitative efforts have stopped, the Code Blue called to an end, the coroner notified to retrieve the remains. We have not two pennies to place upon your eyes.

What would an autopsy reveal?

Cancer, undiagnosed and untreated, metastatic and allowed to spread until all vital organs have become overwhelmed and shut down, one by one.
Bedsores, ignored and allowed to suppurate and grow, septicemia spreading through the entire system via its very own blood flow, the infection too burdensome to treat.
Edema, unrelieved during illness, weeping from the skin, bloating the body until features are unrecognizable.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, stifling the flow of blood from the heart, the great muscle working harder to meet the body's needs until finally collapsing.
Perhaps worst of all, cerebral atrophy, the cerebrum the center of thought and function, learning and memory, and most significantly, communication.

* * * * *

My deepest apologies to this infant who, if conceived under similar circumstances today, would have been ripped from the womb before birth without second thought based on the very nature of that brutal conception, let alone the "inconvenience" of providing care or even comfort, your having been "unwanted" by so many in the first place.

You deserved so much more, so much better, yet you were denied what you needed by the very same brothers and sisters responsible for your care, the same ones who would have been unable to refuse that care had it not been for the sacrifices of the fathers and those of your siblings throughout your life willing to place your needs and wants above their own, providing the right to protest against your very existence.

Jesus wept for Lazarus, as we do now for you, those of your brothers and sisters unwilling to allow you to pass quietly into the night.

Recession wipes out 9 years of job gains

Interesting article from the Seattle Times.

Interesting in that after hearing nothing but "doom and gloom" over the last 8 years, they now admit there actually were "job gains" under Bush?

But, what I find most intriguing is a sentence buried in the middle of the article.

"The nation now has the same number of jobs as in 2000 — but 12.5 million more workers."

Isn't that right about the estimated number of ILLEGAL immigrants in the country?

I'm sure more tax increases on the middle class with cure everything, right?

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, it's all getting better, the stimulus is working!

Democrats Applaud 26 Year High In Unemployment

Throughout the Bush administration, Democrats and the state owned media blasted President Bush for unemployment numbers during his entire time in office. A July 3, 2003 AP dispatch began with, “The nation's unemployment rate shot up to 6.4 percent in June.”

Sen. Jon Corzine, D-N.J, then chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee said, “The verdict is in: The Republicans’ multi-trillion dollar failed economic policy is one the greatest disasters for working Americans in a decade.”

In spite of the cries of “failed this and failed that,” Tax receipts were reaching near record highs in 2005 as unemployment dropped as low as 4.8%. Regardless, Democrats began and continue down to this day the outright lie that the Bush Tax Cuts only benefited the wealthy.

In the final days of his administration, the Washington Post ran an article titled Economy Made Few Gains in Bush Years Eight-Year Period Is Weakest in Decades.

Needless to say, every chance available, President Bush was lambasted over the economy and unemployment. Democrats built a façade to present to America outlining how bad off we all were.

One would think, then, that even higher numbers would cause them alarm and we would be told how bad off we still are, right?

If you think so, you don’t know Democrats very well.

The latest numbers are out and unemployment hit 9.5%, in spite of being told it would level off at 8% if we approved Obama’s massive “stimulus bill” earlier in the year.

Instead of more alarm, Speaker Pelosi released a statement saying in part, “Today’s unemployment numbers are another reminder of the years of failure to invest in making Americans the most highly educated and innovative workforce in the world—and years of delay on affordable health care and the clean energy jobs and industries that will sustain our economy for years to come.”

She continues by telling us how much worse it would be without the so called stimulus package, that they first said would prevent this from happening. Then she boasts about passage of the Crap and Tax energy bill that promises massive tax increases and utility increases on the middle class, who was supposed to get a tax break, remember?

We are at a 26-year high in unemployment and what do they want to do to us? Raise our taxes!!!!

Robert Gibbs, Obama’s Propaganda Minister said of the increase in unemployment, “There’s a sense that beginnings of stabilization are taking hold, and hopefully the worst job loss is behind us.” He continued with, “the stimulus plan is working.”

Recall, Democrats cried about a 4.8% unemployment rate and even called any economic recovery during the Bush administration “a jobless recovery.

But now, 9.5% with a promise that it will keep increasing shows their “stimulus plan is working?”

Remember too, when President Bush sent out stimulus checks, they went to us, the middle class, to spend as we saw fit and circulate in the economy.

Where did Democrats stimulus money go? To large corporations, those same large corporations they claim Republicans favor and they abhor.

When the Democrats seized control of both Houses of Congress in January 2007, unemployment was at 4.6% and remained somewhat steady throughout the year. They pushed through their minimum wage increase by May when President Bush signed it into law.

The next month, unemployment numbers began creeping up, reaching 6.8% when Obama won the election and cresting at 7.2% when he assumed control of the government.

And now that it has hit 9.5% and expected to rise above 10% through 2010, we hear how their policies are working and we should pay even more taxes?

With Democrats holding complete dictatorial power over the country now, they can no longer point fingers or blame Republicans. It’s all on them and in such a short time; they are failing to produce anything but more dependency and failure.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little tired of the Democrats and their double speak while they push me out of a job and reach deeper into my wallet.
