Once Again, Kerry Trashes the Troops

October 30, 2006

John Kerry, rumored Viet Nam Veteran, once again fails to place his brain in gear before placing his mouth in motion. In a speech Kerry reportedly gave today on behalf of Phil Angelides on KFI 640AM in L.A. Kerry said, “You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Like others, I have not seen or heard the entire speech to see if somehow he tried to nuance this slam against our Brave Troops, but the words speak for themselves.

Kerry has a history of mispeaking without any regard for how the words may impact those entrusted in the security and defense of America. From his 1971 "testimony" before the Fulbright anti-war commission, later in his speech, he said, "there will be some recrimination but far, far less than the 200,000 a year who are murdered by the United States of America….."

Who were the "murderers?" Only the troops, those of us who spent our youth there, were representing the United States of America. Viet Nam Veterans are the only ones he could mean were "murderers."

Supporting this view is more words he spoke during that "testimony." He also said, "The country doesn't know it yet, but it has created a monster, a monster in the form of millions of men who have been taught to deal and to trade in violence….."

Monsters? We are "monsters" to him? And now, the troops are lazy uneducated hicks?

The thought that this loser came within a hairbreadth's of the Presidency makes my skin crawl.

You may not like George W. Bush, but you will never find any examples of him speaking against our troops in such a cavalier fashion.

Clearly, these people he represents cannot be entrusted running the country while we are facing the terrorist threat before us today.

This man is delusional if he thinks he has a chance getting his party to back him for another run for the presidency. He is a joke. It almost appears as though he has arrested development. He is stuck on his 3 months and 11 days in Vietnam and his career as an anti-war activist later. What positive thing has this man accomplished in the Senate? How many days has he even been in the Capitol this year?

Kerry is and always has been loser. He bashed us back in '71 and continues today.

We all have heard the infamous "Jenjus Kahn" quote from his 71 lies to the Fulbright anti-Viet Nam War speech. But, later on in that same lie filled speech, he also said, "The country doesn't know it yet, but it has created a monster, a monster in the form of millions of men who have been taught to deal and to trade in violence….."

Can't blame that on Bush, he wasn't in office yet.

He also said, addressing what might happen once North Viet Nam won, "there will be some recrimination but far, far less than the 200,000 a year who are murdered by the United States of America….."

First off, the actual "recrimination" reached into the millions of innocent Vietnamese lives.

Secondly, since we troops were representing the United States of America and were armed, we are the only ones he could have been claiming to have murdered over 200,000 a year.

So, we were "monsters" and "murderers" back then and last year, we heard, "And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the – of – the historical customs, religious customs... Iraqis should be doing that."

And now, today, he says, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Clearly, he holds the Military in disdain. He lied about voluntering for Viet Nam, he only enlisted when his won 5th draft deferment was denied. In 1986 he wrote an article within the book "A War Remembered," wherein he said "But volunteering for Swift boats had nothing to do with my curiosity about the war. They attracted me because it was the one thing you could do as a junior officer and have your own command. In fact, when I signed up for the Swift boats they had very little to do with the war. They were engaged in coastal patrolling and that's what I thought I was going to be doing. Although I wanted to go back and see for myself what was going on, I didn't really want to get involved in the war."

He is no war hero with any "moral authority" to be bashing some 250 highly decorated veterans solely because they spoke out against him in 2004. Everyone forgets, every last one of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are highly decorated Viet Nam Veterans who served their full tours, not go shopping for phony Purple Hearts to bug out and get back to protesting the war.
