Seemingly tired of being upstaged by reports of the deaths a major celebrity, an ex-President and despotic ex-dictator, self styled mom of the anti-liberty protestors has come out swinging.
Prior to the 2004 elections her name was on everyone’s mind as she camped out comfortably in a nearby motel, received massages and was catered to make up artists working for a P.R. firm before she was interviewed by major news networks that had nothing better to do during a slow news month. Writing a book, Cindy Sheehan was last seen sitting alone in her tent waiting for someone to stop by and request a signed copy. I heard a couple sympathetic people did show up, finally.
Believing she was actually a spokesman with some slight modicum of intelligence, Sheehan kept up with her protesting, being too young to have been a protester during the Viet Nam era and has been egged on by the far left and Democrats salivating to embarrass President Bush any way they can.
It has been reported that it was Senator John ‘F’in Kerry (who is rumored to have served in Viet Nam at one time) and his campaign (See post # 700) that contacted Sheehan and got her stirred up, during his failed campaign. Apparently seeing she was not going to be any help, or believing that perhaps she too was just a “botched joke,” the Kerry campaign distanced themselves from her prior to the elections. Kerry lost and Sheehan became enamored with herself at the cost of her marriage.
Little did the left realize that Sheehan’s delusions of grandeur would eventually bite them in their derrieres, but it did.
As incoming House Democrats appeared on Capital Hill for a press conference announcing their lobbying reform package, they were deluged with chants of "De-escalate, investigate, troops home now," from Sheehan her band of merry and misguided leftists.
Democrat Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, simply gave up trying to speak and walked away, maybe unable to deal with the heckling they have encouraged for Republicans for many years now. Sheehan said, "We wanted the Democrats to know they're back in power because of the grass roots.” She also said, “They are not including the peace movement’s voice.” She continued with, "There is already enough money in their killing budget to bring the troops home."
In an unparalleled act of audacity, Sheehan stated, "We didn't put you in power to work with the people that have been murdering hundreds of thousands of people since they have been in power. We put you in power to be opposition to them finally and we're the ones who put them in power."
I don’t think the Democrats counted on her attacking them, thinking she was just a useful fool they used to embarrass President Bush. But, when you delude someone into thinking they are actually important like this, you better expect them to think they own you, as does Sheehan.
As everyone knows by now, her adult son reenlisted and was on his second tour in Iraq when he volunteered for a dangerous mission when he lost his life. Instead of holding her son up as the remarkable hero he is, she jumped on top of his grave and started her moonbat dance. By her own admissions, he reenlisted and returned to Iraq against her wishes, when he was killed. In an act of obvious motherly love, she offered to run him down with her car to prevent him from carrying out his free choice.
Democrats pretty much supported her or joined in with her, before they were returned to power. Now that they are back in power, she intends to hold them accountable. Democrats created a monster I think they will have a hard time controlling without looking like the two faced politicians we know them to be.
Next on her agenda of deluded aspirations, she plans a trip to Cuba to protest the US base at Guantanamo.
You helped create her, Democrats, now you can deal with her as well.

UPDATE: Now in Cuba protesting our prison in Guantanamo, Sheehan was asked to visit Cuban prisons and protest despicable treatment of dissident Cubans imprisoned for disagreeing with and opposing the Castro regime. Apparently, when it comes to protesting a dictatorial despotic regime such as Castro's, Sheehan can’t be bothered

Liberals have never had much luck trying to use those to their Left -- in the 1930s, they ended up getting used by their Communist allies.
Now the Far Left is mainly a loose mix of loonie sects and loony people -- the collapse of Communism has disoriented them, and its replacement as the world's main problem, Islamic fundamentalism, is somehow not very attractive them (with a few exceptions, like Lynn Stewart in New York).
And yet the Far Left, unlike liberals, do have a more or less coherent theory of the world where it counts: they know that the Main Enemy is capitalism, and that the lynchpin of the capitalist system is the United States. And thus they often supply energy and organization to those liberals and liberal causes whose objective end will be the weakening of that lynchpin.
Cindy and her friends, if they are smart, will keep pushing the liberals towards the Left, without alienating them too much. True, it's hard, pushing on a mass of jelly, but it can be done.
Unfortunately, the loony left doesn't believe there is a terrorist threat or that we are in any danger. They have either fogotten 911 or fallen for the lie that it was an inside job orchestrated by Bush.
Cindy Sheehan is a complete fool. Don't forget she also called for withdrawal of all our troops from Occupied New Orleans at a time when Bush was under fire for not sending in troops fast enough after Hurricane Katrina.
And now, she has made good on her threat to Protest Guantanamo along with about 17 or so other protesters. She claims, in regards to the travel ban on Cuba, “Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not afraid of anything. What is more important is the inhumanity that my government is perpetrating at Guantanamo.”
Of course, knowing full well the spineless leaders we have still, it's an easy claim to make.
I was pretty much glued to the news during the New Orleans fiasco.
I could just not see how any ONE level of government was the MOST to blame. I saw incompetence at all levels at some point or another.
The mayor did not use the available resources to get as many people out as could have been done. He set up a shelter in an area where the Red Cross would not go due the hazard level. The citizens who did EXACTLY AS TOLD, still ended up stranded in the mess.
The Govenor (probably for political reasons) would NOT work with the Feds, based on some idea that she was handing power over to them, and politics were more important to her than the safety of the citizens.
The President did not have a realistic picture of the problem until a few days into the crisis (based on his own comments on the news).
FEMA had their trucks lined up, right outside the area, ready to go in, but would not due to the safety hazard. (They might get shot at?).
I could go on, but I know I saw the same news everyone else saw.
Cindy has no kind of expertise making her credible in anything. She needs to be ignored (I know some feel that way about me also).
I know that I personally tune her out, anything she says does not even register.
Some people I only tune out based on specific key words, with her, just the mention of her name and I am usually tuned out.
The media and the left created this 'monster' who now feels she is above reproach and given the spinelessness of our leaders, she pretty much is.
She is under a court order to stay out of trouble or spend her suspended sentence in jail, from a New York Court. Since then, she was once again arrested and now breaks the law to travel to Cuba. No bets this same court will just ignore it.
She has become a legend in her own mind.
Maybe we can not admit her back to the US, and after living in Cuba a while she realize how good she has had it all her life.
