From Rubberstamp Republicans to Roadblock Republicans

May 2, 2007

In the never ending push by our Socialist Democrat party to retreat and surrender in War on Terror, we now hear from that well known Communist Sympathizer and failed Democrat party candidate for President, John ‘F’in Kerry (who served in Viet Nam).

Following in Speakerette Pelosi’s heels in email, ‘ol Lurch sent his out today. As I did with Pelosi’s email yesterday, I will present some excerpts along with my personal assessment. The email will be posted in comments in its entirety.

“When I first introduced legislation with Russ Feingold to set a deadline to end the open-ended policy of massive military presence in Iraq and bring our heroes home, I knew it would take a lot of work to get us to that point.”

The most obvious load of codswallop above would be to see a traitor and advocate of our enemies like Kerry have the audacity to mention our Troops as “heroes.” We know that they are all heroes. But to see that word uttered from his mouth after he has invested a lifetime of undermining the Troops, beginning with his treacherous 1971 Testimony, through his Anti-War Activities down to his ”Botched Joke,” last year is just too much to swallow.

When has he ever advocated Winning anything but his next taxpayer-funded salary?

“But the Republicans are putting up a roadblock to our efforts, succumbing to White House pressure to back the President on this. And the President vetoed our efforts.”

And right that they and the President should. This Bill was packed with billions of dollars of extra pork, non-emergency spending totally unrelated to the War on Terror. It also contained a date certain for our Troops to surrender and retreat from the mission they are winning and during a time they are Petitioning Congress, all but begging for support for them and their mission.

I also find it quite odd that, if as the Democrats say, they are doing “the will of the American people,” why did Speakerette Pelosi have to travel through the ranks of her own party, stuffing the House version of the bill with so much unnecessary spending, bribing Congresscritters, just to garner enough votes for it to pass the House? It leads this blogger to believe they don’t have all the support and backing of “the People” they claim.

As a side note, President Bush signed the veto with a standard run of the mill Ball Point Pen presented to him by Robert Derga, of Uniontown, Ohio, whose son, Dustin was killed in Iraq on May 8, 2005. Mr. Derga requested, “Mr. President, if this Iraq supplemental comes down to a veto I want you to use my pen to do it.” True to his word, President Bush did.

“It's time for that to change. It's time to put the pressure on these Roadblock Republicans.”

And all we ever heard before was that it was “Rubberstamp Republicans.” ‘Lurch’ always did have a way with words.

NO, Kerry, it’s time for Americans to get behind this War and give full support to our Troops. To see they receive whatever they need to protect us and defeat terror wherever it is. There is no substitute for Victory, Kerry.

The only change the Democrat party is offering is another defeat for our country and this time around, to a vicious enemy wishing to dominate the world. We cannot afford their “change.”

“The Republicans are already showing signs of cracking. Many are running away from this President's disastrous policy. But that's not enough; we need to splinter the GOP on this one.”

A couple of RINO’s is hardly what I would call ‘many.’ Somehow, though, he seems to have missed Democrats voted against the Surrender and Retreat funding bill. If they really had the ‘mandate’ to ‘end the war,’ as they claim, they should have easily had enough votes to Override the Veto, which they fell well short of.

“The other Senators are already top targets in 2008, but they hope the power of incumbency and fundraising can save them. We can show them that the power of Washington won't stand against the power of the people.”

Well, ‘Lurch,’ I do believe you saw the “power of the people’ back in November 2004. All your glib talk, ‘botched jokes’ and unmerciful bashing of President Bush and Viet Nam Veterans came back to ‘bite you in your ass.’

“Let's clear the way for a new direction in Iraq -- let's insist on a policy that lives up to the sacrifice of our incredible troops.”

In spite of all the calls for “a New Direction,” “change of course,” and “end the war,” the unmistakable goal of the Socialist Democrat party is to see America defeated in battle.

Our Troops are doing an incredible job in this War, but you would never know if from listening to ‘Defeatocrats’ like Kerry, Murtha, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, and the rest. They can make all the speeches and send out as many donation begging emails as they can, it won’t change the fact that they do not support our Troops.

Kerry’s efforts helped make a mockery out of the fight in Viet Nam as well as the sacrifice of over 58,000 American lives. For a medal seeking glory hound like Kerry to mention the sacrifice of our incredible Troops, after he has worked so many years undermining them, slashing funds to them and denying them the tools they needed in this War, makes me feel like slapping him silly.

It was the grassroots efforts of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and the vast majority of Viet Nam Veterans that stopped this charlatan from winning the highest office in the land.

Likewise, it will be grassroots efforts from Veterans and True American Patriots that will stop this sham of a political party from once again, snatching defeat from Victory for our Troops and our nation.

Hi Lew,

When I first introduced legislation with Russ Feingold to set a deadline to end the open-ended policy of massive military presence in Iraq and bring our heroes home, I knew it would take a lot of work to get us to that point. And, as I've said to all of you before, we've made tremendous progress. Thanks to all of your work, we have a Democratic Congress that has passed legislation to challenge President Bush's failed policy in Iraq and put us on a new course.

But the Republicans are putting up a roadblock to our efforts, succumbing to White House pressure to back the President on this. And the President vetoed our efforts.

It's time for that to change. It's time to put the pressure on these Roadblock Republicans.

The Republicans are already showing signs of cracking. Many are running away from this President's disastrous policy. But that's not enough; we need to splinter the GOP on this one. To do that, we need to speak to them in a voice loud enough that they can't help but hear it, and we need to speak in the language any politician understands: grassroots pressure.

So we're launching a unique campaign to pressure the critical points in the GOP caucus. We are targeting a few key Senators for this message: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senators Sununu, Collins, and Coleman. The last three are already top races for 2008, and Senator McConnell is the bulwark of the GOP leadership on this.

So go here to contribute to a fund run by our friends at ActBlue that will go to the eventual Democratic nominee in those states and then write an email message to those Senators explaining why you did this.

This is an extraordinary campaign; to my knowledge, nothing quite like this has ever been done. But this money can make all the difference in each of these races, and these Senators will know it. Senator McConnell is secure in his belief that no one will be able to raise the money to challenge him. We can show that he's wrong. The other Senators are already top targets in 2008, but they hope the power of incumbency and fundraising can save them. We can show them that the power of Washington won't stand against the power of the people.

We can raise the stakes for them and make the pressure they feel from the people greater than the pressure they feel from the White House. And when that happens, they just might help tell this President that his policy is a disaster and we must change course.

Let's clear the way for a new direction in Iraq -- let's insist on a policy that lives up to the sacrifice of our incredible troops.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

Of all of them, Snooper, Kerry ranks as near the top as one can get. He has made a career out of opposing America and somehow got into the Senate where he continues to undermine America.

From his phony medals to his failed campaign, he is a first class opportunist that would sell out America in a heartbeat for political gain.

Murtha and the otheer ilk are pretty much johnny come latelies. Kerry has been badmouthing America since College.

This is nothing more than posturing for the base. It's unfortunate that this posturing - for personal political gain - comes at the expense of our troops.
