I’m sure older readers will recognize the title from the mid 1960’s recording by Lesley Gore, so with apologies to Ms. Gore, isn’t that basically what we have been promised and told we would get when Obama and his minions ruling America?
Looking at the lyrics I see a definite resemblance to how Obamorons carry on already,
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Everything that’s wonderful is what I feel
When we're together.
Brighter than a lucky penny.
When you're here the raindrops disappears
Dear and I feel so fine.
Even with the demonic hatred still shown President George W. Bush, those same people mesmerized by Obama appear to fall into cult like worship towards his hominess.
In a Wall Street Journal article, Peter Berkowitz tells us Bush Hatred and Obama Euphoria Are Two Sides of the Same Coin.
With that in mind, what little Obama has actually done since his ascension to power shows little resemblance to Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows, regardless of how the cult of Obama tries to portray it.
A major ice storm has hit back east, particularly in Kentucky, leaving one million people freezing in sub freezing temperatures and without electrical power to cook, sterilize water or stay warm.
Dozens of people have already died, FEMA has not been sent in and Obama has not made any visit to the area to assess what is needed, as was demanded of President Bush by liberals after Hurricane Katrina. Obama did declare a state of emergency for Missouri, but what about Kentucky, where so many have already died and are without?
No trailers, no space heaters, no extra fuel, nothing coming from Obama’s FEMA!
While he did inherit an ongoing war on two fronts, how does one declare himself a “leader” of those Troops in harm’s way while at the same time asking for budget cuts in defense? And that is only “to start.”
Obama has publicly condemned CEO Bonuses, but I have yet to hear of him withdrawing the bonuses he gave out to staffers upon the successful completion of the coup d’etat.
He has yet to issue any condemnation of six fellow democrats enjoying a Caribbean junket hosted by Citigroup after Congress had approved the $700 billion bailout of financial services firms this past October.
Instead, we see more bashing of President Bush over Hurricane Katrina and not a word about the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans or the Democrat Governor of Louisiana, who both totally failed their constituents with their non-action.
It seems that even his choice of cabinet members is suspect, as one by one they seem to have committed “honest errors in judgment” by not having paid taxes that we lesser people are required to pay. He stands by each one.
He did keep his promise of extending an olive branch to Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and giving his first televised interview on Al Arabiya TV, basically apologizing for America defending ourselves from extremist Jihadists.
The reply from Iran is to demand an apology for some unspecified crimes and to get our Troops out of neighboring Iraq, even though Iraq’s government desires some Troops to remain a while longer.
Sensing weakness, Cuba’s aging dictator, Fidel Castro has now demanded Guantánamo Bay be given back to Communist Cuba, even though the site has been leased indefinitely to America since 1903 and lease checks have been sent every year, even though Castro now says he has never cashed any.
Obama has kept another promise by issuing an executive order that our base in Guantánamo be closed within a year, but he gave no thought on what to do with the detainees there, since their home countries do not wish their return and so far, American prisons do not want them either.
Most notable in that would be Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who also advocates closing Guantánamo, rejecting suggestions of upgrading and placing them in her district in Alcatraz Prison.
Obama did receive a stinging rebuke from Navy Cmdr. Kurt Lippold (ret.), Commander of the USS Cole when it was attacked by suicide bombers in late 2000.
Personally troubling to me was B HO’s snubbing of the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball, an event that honors recipients of the Medal of Honor, America’s highest award for bravery, making him the first president to do so in the Ball’s 56 year history.
Fox News has an ongoing grading of Obama’s performance in office. Cal Thomas gives him a D- while far leftist Leonard Jacobs gives him an A-. Respondents to the online poll overwhelmingly give him between a D and an F.
Less than two weeks in and even though leftists and others desiring America become a Socialist State rate him so well, it is obvious that the Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows of Obama Rule is a dream, a pipe dream only.
To truly freedom loving Americans, it is more like a nightmare that we have nearly 4 more years to live through.

Fascinating. I see Ms. Kilpatrick was a beneficiary of the Caribbean junket... one of those who scoffed at Dave Camp's amendment to the latest House raping of the American people... and mother of infamous Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree - wormy and rotten to the core.... Like mother, like son.
Well,,,, they are all Democrats ;-)
I'm not a far leftist, my friend. I'm a centrist. Unless you believe that anyone who does not agree with you is a leftist. In which case, I'm correct.
Funny thing, Leonard ol' buddy, I read through my post several times, even did a word search a couple times, and can't find anywhere I mentioned you. A little paranoid, are we?
You can call yourself anything you wish, no matter to me. But the proof is in the puddin, ol' bud. Why not tell us of all the times you supported President Bush and the Republican party on issues?
Semi-specific will do just fine, old pal.
You see, Leonard, what most on your side of the aisle ignore is that the parameters of left vs right have shifted so far to the left over the years, a "centrist" position is now solidly on the left.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't get Leonard's comment.
Actually, Angie, neither did I. Just seems a bit paranoid as if I were writing about him.
Come to think about it, I don't recall ever speaking with him before either ;-)
Gotta love the left.
OK, as long as it's not just me! LOL
You know sometimes I have difficulty muddling through stuff that may seem common sense to most, but my brain doesn't always cooperate and it can take me a while....
It's all good, though.
Sometimes, Angie, I just have to mess with some people. I figure it's a right of passage for making it to old fart status, LOL
Do I get a pass on old fart status since I'll never make it that far and want those benefits NOW? LOL (Barry gets a pass all the time for nothing more than being "half honky, all donkey," so I should get something, too! Did you catch that picture in the sidebar on my site? ROFL)
Ah, ya know I love ya, Lew....
As for political position, I roll around in my own little weird bit of existence, neither truly left nor right, no "center of balance" whatsoever. BUT: I know in my gut and in my heart what is right and what is not, where I need to be (argumentative neurons aside), but I usually swing more to the right on most stuff.

So how the heck are ya? Going OK here, in the midst of about 4-some inches of global warming, 2 pairs of socks and 2 sweaters, a space heater in the nook under my desk where my feet go, blankets (I knew I would find a use for all those 400 million baby blankets I kept!) on my lap and shoulders....
I just love global warming. Gotta find my camera to document for posterity how I've suffered as a result of AGW.
Right now, Angie, we are enjoying a brisk 33 degrees and wet (rain, not snow). Over Christmas we had a good foot of global warming, which is rare for this region. Some winters we get no snow and others maybe an inch or two.
Our new Service manager decided to change our hours at work, so now I only work monday through wednesday, 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM. I spend most of the 4 days off recuperating.
As for the space heater, I have one under my desk too and long johns on, with thick socks. Hot coffee all day helps some too.
Don't fret about old fart status. I've known many who were told or thought they wouldn't see it and fooled everybody. I've even outlived my own Dad now by 6 years. He died of a massive heart attack at 54.
Since you are a Mom, feel free to play old fart anytime, though. That alone gives you a pass, LOL
Lew,
there is one small mistake in the posting. The US-Cuba deal about Gitmo was negotiated with the first post colonial administration of Predeint Estrada Palma for 99 years not for an indefinite period;however, it should not be given back to a Cuba under a Communist tyrannical regime. When a democratic regime is finally in place on the island, then it should be given back as agreed in the original protocol of the lease. The Gitmo base was built as a place to project US naval power and quickly assist in the defense of the Panama Canal with our Navy ships and since the Canal is now obsolete, it has been given back to Panama, and we have an Air Force that can do the same job much better and in minutes, it has lost its strategical worth now. A US Navy Admiral in a recent interview stated exactly the same thing but he said the base should be kept as a thorn on the side of the Castro Communist regime. I agree with him.
