What About Osama, Obama?

It is no secret that the lefttards have been highly critical of President George W. Bush over his inability to track down and capture or kill Osama bin Laden, spiritual leader of Al Qaeda.

It was early in his administration that he came under severe fire from leftist and pundits for a comment he made about bin Laden,

Deep in my heart I know the man is on the run, if he's alive at all. Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not; we haven't heard from him in a long time. And the idea of focusing on one person is -- really indicates to me people don't understand the scope of the mission.”

The left came alive with accusations that Bush didn’t care about bin Laden, that he had forgotten him, lost his focus and such drivel, along with the usual calls for arrest, impeachment and resignation.

President Bush had vowed to capture or kill bin Laden right after 9/11 and it appeared that he lost his stomach for that. Never mind that wasn’t the case. He continued,
Terror is bigger than one person. And he's just -- he's a person who's now been marginalized. His network, his host government has been destroyed. He's the ultimate parasite who found weakness, exploited it, and met his match…

Naturally, this did not placate the leftists and other Bush Bashers. They had something to sink their teeth into and haven’t let go since, 6 years later.

Along came the 2008 campaign and the eventual winner of last year’s coup d’etat made some similar promises to get elected. It was in the October 7 debate that B HO stated,
We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority.”

Along with many other promises made by B HO and his subsequent lowering of expectations of him, CNN began letting us all know how “difficult” that task might be for him, not admitting it of President Bush, though.

It is now mere days that the B HO’s will be given the oath and perky little Katie Couric has a pending interview with the most high exalted messiah waiting to be aired at his coronation this January 20th.

Perky little Katie Couric asks B HO about the importance of bin Laden and received the reply,
I think that we have to so weaken his infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function. My preference obviously would be to capture or kill him. But if we have so tightened the noose that he's in a cave somewhere and can't even communicate with his operatives, then we will meet our goal of protecting America.”

I see virtually the same statement made by President Bush back in 2002 that caused such an uproar from the left and other Bush bashers. Yet, googling this comment tonight, I have yet to find any outrage over B HO’s minimizing of bin Laden's importance and calling for keeping him pinned up in a cave somewhere.

Gone is the promise, “I will capture or kill Osama.” Gone is the call, “That has to be our biggest national security priority.”

And yet no outrage. No calls for arrest, impeachment or resignation, as was done for President Bush all during his administration. No worry expressed that letting bin Laden remain alive will bring about more terror.

What a difference having the Socialist Demokratik Politburo in power makes with the left.
