Congressman Brian Baird has sure been making the news lately, during this recess.
He’s had to apologize for references to “brown-shirts,” “lynch mob tactics,” “Timothy McVeigh” references and do a fast dance on a Ryder Truck comment at the Rotary Club meet, prompting the Columbian’s to run interference for him by penning an article “explaining” the ‘inartful’ comment as referring to a “death threat” he alleges he has received.
I say, “alleges” because no one can confirm such a threat was received or reported to the authorities when contacting those authorities his staff alleges to have reported it to. All that is said is “an investigation in ongoing,” with no explanation of what is being investigated or when it was launched.
Most of this was used by Brian Baird as his excuse for initially denying citizens of Washington States Third Congressional District a face to face town hall meeting, where he obviously feared intense opposition to his expected support of the proposed healthcare reform measures and two highly questionable votes in support of massive spending bills that he could not possible have read first.
We eventually received a town hall meeting in Clark County, where he did indeed receive an earful. We even made National News as a video of Marine Veteran David Hedrick came out forcefully confronting him on some very relevant points.
But, prior to all this, Baird held what he calls a “tele-conference” townhall, where those aware of the call could call in and by dialing ‘*3’ be placed in queue to ask him questions live, on August 7.
One of those calls was from a lady in Pacific County who offered a peaceful meeting with him in her living room; to offset any worries he had about having to face a hostile crowd at a town hall. Baird readily accepted the meeting and scheduling such a meet began.
Nansen Malin, the woman who made the offer told me that almost immediately after the tele-conference ended, members of the national media, desiring to cover the meeting since she identified herself as the Chair of the Pacific County Republican Party, contacted her.
By August 17, Kelly Love, Baird’s district director contacted Ms. Malin and after discussing possible dates, options and scenarios, to include security, press and an invitation list, September 1 was agreed upon for this meeting in her home.
Nansen was told a member of Baird’s staff would be getting back to her “very soon.”
The next day, August 18, Nan opens her newspaper to read that Baird has announced a town hall meeting in Ilwaco on Sept 1.
She fires off an email to Kelly Love inquiring about the conflicting dates, expressing her displeasure at not being contacted and asking if the meeting in her home has been cancelled.
Kelly calls Nan from backstage at the Clark County town hall and tells her the meeting in her home is still on and they now desire to hold it in her garden instead of the living room.
Not hearing from anyone on Baird’s staff, Nan again emails Kelly Love on August 24, receiving an apology from Ms. Love and the explanation, “I was under the understanding that our Chief of Staff was going to call you back. I apologize.”
On August 26, Nan returned a call from Kelly Love where she again apologized for no one calling her back to tell her that they had scheduled an alternate event in Ilwaco and explained that congressman Baird had every intent on honoring the agreed upon meeting in her home, but “after reading your blog posts,” congressman Baird will not be coming to her home.
Kelly did extend an invitation to Nan to attend the Ilwaco town hall.
Did Brian Baird think a Republican would just kiss his butt in blog posts or adopt the Democrat Party mantra and roll over?
Did he even actually intend on making the meeting?
Kelly Love even admitted to Nan, in reference to reports of Republicans “acting badly,” “no, no, the town halls have all been very civil. There have been no problems at all.”
Did he back off because he could not ensure coverage would be favorable to him?
It all sounds to me as if Baird’s slick political manner swung into high gear because he spoke too soon during the tele-conference, but he will never state any such thing.
An August 13 editorial in the Daily Astorian mentioned the scheduled meeting between Ms. Malin and congressman Baird and acknowledged, “Seaview's sane and reasonable county GOP Chairwoman Nan Malin invited Baird to her home for a civil discourse on health care.”
Even they see that Ms. Malin is “sane and reasonable” in an editorial that heavily condemns other GOP pundits, leading me to accept that any meet in her home would be what was offered, “a civil discourse on health care.”
Isn’t that what Brian Baird has been clamoring for all this time?
Is he now afraid to honor his agreement and chooses a flimsy excuse of she writes pro-Republican posts on her blog?
Maybe he is just hallucinating about Ryder Trucks again.

Brianna Lopez, Abused In Life, Caged In Death
July 2002, 5-month old Brianna Lopez, born premature in February of that year in Las Cruces, New Mexico, died a brutal death after suffering some of the most horrific abuse I have ever heard a child having to endure.
In her short 5 months of life, she was pinched, thrown in the air, slammed on the ground, repeatedly bitten and sexually penetrated by her father and uncle.
An autopsy showed her anus and vagina were both injured. She had a significant abrasion on her buttocks, which went all the way into the buttocks, that was consistent with sexual assault. Immediately after she was pronounced dead, a nurse observed that her anus gaped open with no muscle tone. The autopsy revealed her anal opening was dilated to a full inch. Internal examination showed an injury a half-inch to an inch inside the anal opening and vaginal injuries inside the labia minora, including three small injuries to the hymen.
Her small body was literally covered from head to toe in bruises and bite marks. She also had older injuries that included fractures to her skull and legs.
From the Facebook Page dedicated to her, we read, “On the night of her death she had been thrown to the ceiling and hit the floor three times and also sexually penetrated. When authorities found her it shocked them so badly they needed counseling. Her father and uncle had raped her and were also the ones who threw her to the ceiling without catching her during a night of drinking. Her mother caused the many bite marks on different occasions and also pinched Brianna when she became frustrated with her baby. Briannas father, Andy Walters would throw her when he became frustrated. On Friday July 19th at 10:00am Brianas mother Stephanie Lopez, woke to find Brianna not breathing and called 911. On Friday July 19th at 11:10am 5 month old baby Brianna Lopez passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces from the injuries that were a result of this abuse.”
This poor little girl never felt a single second of love or affection in her short 5 months of life.
Brianna’s father and uncle were sentenced to 57 and 51 years in prison, respectively, for raping and killing the girl. Her mother received 27 years for negligence that led to the girl’s death.
In 2006, the convictions of these three monsters were overturned after lawyers for the three filed an Appeal with the New Mexico Supreme Court, claiming that because the three had been tried together and had provided evidence against one another, their right to cross examine their accusers had been violated. The Justices agreed, and overturned all three defendant’s convictions.
In June 2007, the mother’s conviction was reinstated.
In September 2007, the convictions of the father and uncle were reinstated on most counts.
That these three still breathe is a travesty itself, but they are all locked away in prison, for now.
The outrage in Las Cruces was astounding as was the sympathy and guilt the community felt over this poor child.
The only photo of her is one filled will bruises taken after her death just prior to her autopsy. By digitally removing the bruises, a decent photo of this child was made where she appears sleeping.
As if not abused enough in life, no one came forward to claim Brianna’s body, so the community banded together and claimed her, giving her a decent burial. Then, remaining family members came forward and decided to claim this poor child’s grave, erected a cage around her grave to keep community members who would erect a headstone as well as keep flowers on her grave, out.
Even in death this poor child’s memory is to be refused a little caring and affection, if the remaining family continues.
In a rare move for me, I am linking to a petition I would encourage everyone to sign to encourage the New Mexico Courts to legally remove that cage and allow well wishers to pay homage to this poor child, dead now for 7 years.
The family did nothing for this child in life and now, in death they continue in doing nothing for her, not even a few flowers or a decent headstone. Video of the caged grave can be seen HERE.

Hate Crimes Trial Ignored By The Media
After all the press given to the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard and the now infamous rape case of the Duke University La Crosse team members, the noose incident known as the Jena Six and many other examples of ‘hate crimes’ in the country, why the trials of the criminals responsible for the deaths of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom is in near media blackout remains unexplained.
Chris Newsom, 23, was repeatedly raped and then blindfolded, gagged, arms and feet bound and his head covered. Barefoot, he was either led or dragged outside the house to a set of nearby railroad tracks. He was shot in the back of the head, the neck, and the back, and his body then set on fire. Channon Christian, 21 and his girlfriend, endured hours of sexual torture before she too died, suffering horrific injuries to her vagina, anus and mouth. She was not only raped, but also savaged with “an object,” possibly a broken chair leg. She was beaten in the head. Some type of chemical was poured down her throat, and her body, including her bleeding and battered genital area, likely scrubbed with the same solution - all while Christian was alive. She was then "hog-tied," with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered tightly with a small trash bag and her body stashed inside five large trash bags before being placed inside a large trash can and covered with sheets. Christian died slowly, suffocating.
Lemaricus Davidson, Letalvis Cobbins, George Thomas, Eric Boyd, Vanessa Coleman were subsequently arrested and charged in the brutal murders.
The media that couldn’t wait to broadcast about Rodney King or sensationalize Matthew Shephard’s murder seems to have turned a blind eye to this 2007 murder as they have the trials currently ongoing.
So far, Letalvis Cobbins has received life without parole and earlier, Eric Boyd was found guilty in Federal court of being an accessory to a fatal carjacking and for failing to report the location of a known fugitive, sentenced to the maximum of 18 years in Federal prison.
That such an obvious hate crime would face a near complete media blackout when much lesser crimes are national headlines is left unexplained. Racial motivations by the media are denied.

Ted Kennedy, Flawed & Imperfect, Dies of Brain Cancer
Ted Kennedy, youngest brother of John F. Kenney, who was assassinated in 1963, has died of brain Cancer, according to a News Alert issued by Fox News.
Ted Kennedy, Senate Lion and Liberal Champion, Dies
Breaking news last night, as we saw and today, the fawning and gushing over his passing commences. Even the Drudge Report lists his death as “End Of Camelot.”
Most people today do not even realize the “Camelot” description of the Kennedy dynasty was a fabrication of Jacqueline Kennedy, wife of assassinated president John F. Kennedy, after he was killed in Dallas, Texas, November 22, 1963.
How it now encompasses his youngest brother, Ted, escapes me.
The Kennedy clan enjoys near royal status in America, although they are as troubled as any other. The excessive wealth of the family was gained under questionable means, with ties to organized crime during the Great Depression. For all the claims from the left over “rich fat cat Republicans,” somehow this family is not ever included.
I recall how the country literally shut down from the time JFK was cut down that Friday long ago, until his State funeral on Monday. I recall also as news broke in 1968 of his other brother, Robert, being shot in Los Angeles and dying days later.
Regardless of wealth, that has to hurt and leave a lasting impression on surviving family. While not accounting for all troubles that plagued Ted later on, I’m sure it at least somewhat contributed to his many misguided steps.
He was born into incredible wealth and privilege and along the way, misused it. Many credit him for efforts to make up for that by his congressional work, presumably for the less privileged. That he never gave up his own unearned wealth and life of excessive privilege doesn’t figure into that gushing.
Teddy Kennedy today will be described as “iconic,” a “Liberal Lion,” and all sorts of undeserved depictions, ignoring several acts that would have landed you or me in the unemployment line or jail.
Most notable in those acts was the 1969 death of a young 28 year-old Mary Jo Kopechne, left to drown in the upside down Oldsmobile driven by Ted Kennedy after he drove it off of a narrow bridge in the small island of Chappaquiddick on Martha's Vineyard. The subsequent actions of Kennedy, indicating incapacitation from excessive alcohol and the rumor of Mary Jo possibly being pregnant, although never confirmed, forever haunted Kennedy’s quest for higher office.
How it didn’t bring about his expulsion by voters from the Senate remains a mystery to me.
His reputation for heavy drinking and womanizing followed him all of his life, often making public statement nearly indiscernible from slurring. He was often seen stumbling around Palm Beach Florida after a heavy night of partying.
The country saw this in the 1991 trial and acquittal of nephew William Kennedy Smith in Florida. Ted was a material witness as he was out partying with his nephew that night.
In his youth he was expelled from Harvard for cheating on an exam. He then put in a two-year hitch in the U.S. Army, serving in Paris during the Korean War. Somehow, he was readmitted to Harvard after his Army enlistment, graduating in 1956.
Acting against his Catholic faith, he adopted a strong pro-abortion position and had his marriage to Joan annulled by the Catholic Church after divorcing her in 1981. In 2005, Joan was found lying in the street injured.
His vitriol against conservatives was handily seen as he almost single handedly wrecked President Reagan’s 1987 nomination of Robert Bork to the Supreme Court when within 45 minutes of the announcement he stood on the Senate floor and said,
“Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens for whom the judiciary is -- and is often the only -- protector of the individual rights that are the heart of our democracy... President Reagan is still our president. But he should not be able to reach out from the muck of Irangate, reach into the muck of Watergate and impose his reactionary vision of the Constitution on the Supreme Court and the next generation of Americans. No justice would be better than this injustice.”
Of President Bush’s 2003 nomination of minority candidates to Federal Court positions, he referred to them as “Neanderthals” with impunity for such a racist slight.
Of late he is credited for his hard fight to impose Universal Healthcare on the nation. Since his death, proponents are using his death to further promote this flawed notion, slobbering all over Kennedy for his efforts.
Missed, or ignored, is that the final year of his life was spent seeking and taking medical treatment from a health program that regular citizens would not have access to. He did not receive a copy of “Your Life, Your Choices” booklet that is not passed out to Veterans to ascertain if their life is still worth living.
In 2004 he was instrumental in having Massachusetts law changed, preventing the governor from appointing a Senatorial replacement in case the Democrat candidate that year, fellow Democrat John Kerry, won. With a Republican governor, Ted feared a Republican might be appointed. Instead of an appointment by the governor, any replacement would be selected by a special election.
In the days preceding his death, he again was lobbying to change the law back now that a Democrat governor is in office and he fears such a special election could result in a Republican replacement due to the waning popularity of the Democrat led Congress and seeing the poll numbers of Obama sliding downward.
To Ted Kennedy it is “Republicans need not apply.”
Prior to his bother Robert’s murder, Ted jumped on the anti-war bandwagon helping undermine our efforts against communist forces in Viet Nam and was often seen cavorting with the traitorous John ‘F’in Kerry in the lead-up to Kerry’s infamous lies to the Fulbright Commission in 1971.
He seemed to oppose every effort at protecting freedom and liberty around the world, if initiated by a Republican President. Yet, he seemed to readily accept and support when President Clinton set about bombing in Kosovo or launching missiles into Iraq.
Although he supported the removal of Saddam Hussein during the Clinton years, he staunchly opposed it once President Bush undertook the task after September 11, 2001.
And now, as if to add insult to injury, we hear that plans are underway to bury this man amongst the fallen heroes in Arlington National Cemetery. That his efforts at undermining their mission, his votes against funding or approving updated weapons to support them may have resulted in the deaths of many is an affront to those real heroes buried there who fell in service to our country.
DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen has sent out an email today saying, “With the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy, a family lost its patriarch, the U.S. Senate lost its most gifted legislator, and America lost an unparalleled leader.”
Robert Reich, Clinton Labor Secretary, says, “His passing is an inestimable loss.”
As the leftist media tries outdoing each other in their slobbering and gushing reports on this flawed man, I can only recall a portion of Ted’s own words in the eulogy he gave at his bother Robert’s funeral, “[He] need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life.”

A Healthcare Solution for Moveon.org
Just received in email from Moveon.org's Nita Chaudhary, a tearful plea for help in hosting a vigil for "those who are suffering in your city."
Says Nita, "Everybody is talking about health care these days. But they're not talking about what really matters: the people we all know who live in fear, pain or debt under our current health care system."
Vigil's aren't what is needed, Ms. Chaudhary nor is a massive tax increase to take over our healthcare system.
Citizens deserve the same treatment as Veterans, I keep hearing, so forgo the vigil and just issue these citizens "who live in fear, pain or debt under our current health care system" their own copy of the End of Life counseling booklet Obama has reinstated for Veterans, Your Life, Your Choices, also known as The Death Book for Veterans.

Why Baird Was Told "Stay Away From My Kids"
By now I am sure the majority of the nation has viewed the video of a Marine named David telling off Washington State Congressman Brian Baird and his angry comment, “ Stay away from my kids.”
It was my honor to have been present and in the audience of some 2800 citizens to witness David’s confrontation of our congressman.
David was rightfully angered by the recent action of congressman Baird’s, as is seen in his confronting Congressman Baird.
David alluded to an earlier comment on parenting that did not set well with neither him nor a lot of the audience.
Below is what congressman Baird had to say earlier in the town hall to another Veteran named Jeff, who also expressed his displeasure not only with congressman Baird, but with both of our Major Political Parties.
It was Jeff who brought out the provision to fund and set-up “home visitation programs” to educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills. Take note of Baird’s poor attempt at justifying government supplied information on parenting.

Organizing For America Offends Families Of Troops & Veterans
Saturday August 22, 2009. An announcement in the Thursday, August 20 Columbian caught my eye on Organizing For America, a pro-Obama and decidedly left-winged group, planning on traveling through our county to gather ‘horror stories’ from people with private health insurance, figuring they could shock more people into believing the planned Obama take over of our healthcare and insurance system is best for America.
The group announced plans to gather at Esther Short Park to spread out from there.
Curious as to how they would manage this, my wife and I went down to Esther Short Park to witness the assembling, see what booths they may have set up and to wander through the Saturday Farmers Market held there each weekend.
Although we missed the initial gathering of activists who may have volunteered, we did see that there were not one, but two tables set up by Organizing for America activists.
Bearing in mind that even they have the freedom to spread their malicious lies about Republicans and others opposed to this massive takeover of one sixth of our economy, I especially noted that the sites chosen for both of their tables could not have been more inappropriate or offensive.
If it wasn’t a deliberate act of confrontation to set up where they did, it shows their lack of class and how they don’t care whom they offend to get their way.
The one booth was alongside the booth set up by a brand new chapter being organized for Blue Star Mothers, Moms who have Sons or Daughters who volunteered for our Military and are actively serving America at this time.
But, nearly directly across the sidewalk from the Blue Star Mothers was an active table of Organizing For America displaying their signs condemning any and every body who doesn’t roll over and play dead to accept this takeover of our healthcare industry.
Most offensive to the Moms manning the Blue Star Mother booth was that Organizing For America chose to put out a sign directly across from their booth saying, “Trillions for Wars and nothing for healthcare?” Of course, this is a blatant lie as we have poured billions of dollars into healthcare and other social programs. But, that doesn't stop Organizing For America in their effort to subjugate us under the rule of Obama.
Offensive because the Moms manning the Blue Star Mothers booth had to look at that sign, with their sons all serving our country today.
These are women who, whether or not they even agree with the war, have sons who are serving in our Military and whose sons either have been to the war or are in training. One Mom I spoke to said her son is currently in Mosul, a hotspot in Iraq and yes, she worries about him every day, like any Mom would.
The look on these Moms faces speaks volumes as they have to see that sign, knowing there are people directly across from them that could care less about the safety of their sons fighting for America and who would happily abandon them over there, withdraw all funding that supports and feeds them and divert it to wasteful government giveaways to those not entitled to it here.
And the attitude of the people manning the Organizing For Booth? Happy go lucky, without a care for how their hateful rhetoric may offend those they set up across from.
Organizing For America, have you no shame? Have you no heart? Is converting America to socialism so important to you that basic humanity and thoughtfulness no longer exists in your world?
It seems the only “uniting” your messiah in Washington D.C. encourages is to knuckle under to his dictatorial control.
Shame on you, Organizing for America. You encourage violent acts at townhalls to deny us our free speech. You encourage highjacking of public events to ensure our side doesn’t get heard. You encourage lies about citizens and insurance companies, claiming the wages of top executives is “stealing from healthcare.”
And now, you disparage the families of those serving America and who fight to protect your freedom to spread your filthy lies.
How thoughtless you all have become since aligning with the socialists ruining America and the future of our grandchildren.

Obama To Veterans, Your Life May Not Be Worth Living
Shortly after seizing power earlier this year, Obama stood before America’s veterans and wounded soldiers and proclaimed,
“For their service and sacrifice, warm words of thanks from a grateful nation are more than warranted, but they aren't nearly enough. We also owe our veterans the care they were promised and the benefits that they have earned. We have a sacred trust with those who wear the uniform of the United States of America. It's a commitment that begins at enlistment, and it must never end.”
Little did we know that his administration was going to allow the resurrection of a Clinton era program, for all intent and purpose, urging ailing Veterans to just off themselves.
"Last year, bureaucrats at the VA's National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, "Your Life, Your Choices." It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VA's preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. After the Bush White House took a look at how this document was treating complex health and moral issues, the VA suspended its use. Unfortunately, under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated 'Your Life, Your Choices.'"
"Who is the primary author of this workbook? Dr. Robert Pearlman, chief of ethics evaluation for the center, a man who in 1996 advocated for physician-assisted suicide in Vacco v. Quill before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his support of health-care rationing."
"'Your Life, Your Choices' presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political "push poll." For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be 'not worth living.'"

Obama assured the country that reports of his planning “Death Panels” wasn’t true when he stated,
“I guess this arose out of a provision in one of the House bills that allowed Medicare to reimburse people for consultations about end-of-life care, setting up living wills. Somehow it’s gotten spun into this idea of death panels. Um, I am not in favor of that. I want to clear the air.”
Parsing his words carefully, as he always does, Death Panels, selecting who will live or die under this proposed heatlhscare program, doesn’t appear to be in the offering. But, giving people, first to Veterans, booklets to ascertain their life is no longer worth living seems pretty close to me.
Is this what Obama calls a “Sacred Commitment?”
Obama said before the group of Veterans above,
“Too many wounded warriors go without the care that they need. Too many veterans don't receive the support that they've earned. Too many who once wore our nation's uniform now sleep in our nation's streets.”
He then says his VA Healthcare program will
“significantly expand coverage so that 500,000 more veterans who have previously been denied it will receive it.”

Brian Baird Steps On His Tongue Again
Washington States congressman, 3rd District, fresh off of a controversy over referring to constituents as “brown shirts” and “lynch mobs” apparently hasn’t learned anything.
He claims to have apologized for the references in a press release saying, “Frankly, I have had concerns about how we can have constructive dialogue and, unfortunately, in response to some of the things we’ve been seeing across the nation I have said some things myself that I regret.”
Again last evening, at
Baird’s first townhall this recess at the Clark County Amphitheater, he again reiterated to the audience that he “had taken the words back” and “apologized” for them.
The sincerity of that apology is highly in doubt after a comment he made at a Vancouver, Washington Rotary Club luncheon today, August 19, 2009.
The following is a press release from Ryan Hart, Chairman of the Clark County GOP. I was with Ryan at Party headquarters late this afternoon as he received confirmation from others of Baird’s words,

“Congressman Brian Baird reverted back to making the same comparisons and comments today that he apologized for last week. Baird was the guest speaker at the Downtown Rotary Club on Wednesday where he was quoted to say “if there is a Ryder truck parked out front, it has my name on it.”
Clark County Republican Party Chairman Ryan Hart said he received a call from an individual who attended the meeting informing him of the comment. “I called several other people who attended the meeting and they all confirmed that Baird made the remarks.
Baird’s remarks were a reference to domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh. “This is just unbelievable,” Hart said. “You would think he would have learned a lesson or two over the past two weeks,” he added.
Hart said the comparison linking critics of the Democrat’s health care reform proposals to domestic terrorists makes one doubt the sincerity of his Baird’s apology.”
Is Baird that out of touch that we do not know what he is talking about? Is he trying to milk this alleged death threat he says he received?
Congressman Baird, if you really desire to see death threats issued to a politician, look no further than what was thrown towards President Bush during his time in office.
I suspect in the next few days will we hear an exasperated Brian Baird telling us to get a sense of humor, just another “botched joke,” ala John ‘F’in Kerry in 2006 when he disparaged our Troops saying, “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
We didn’t laugh at Kerry’s disparaging comment and congressman Baird, we are not laughing now.
Most people who apologize take steps to not recommit the offense the very next day.

Brian Baird Gets Scolded by Constituents
August 18, 2009, Clark County Amphitheater was the setting for Brian Baird’s first townhall after stating he would not hold any due to alleged death threats. Attendance was about 2800 according to the Columbian article on the event.
In all, the townhall went off with any major distractions, although a comment early on stating that many nations, Cuba included, had a lower infant mortality rate than the U.S. did, brought out the first loud grown and heavy boos from the audience.
Organizing for America sent out an email earlier calling on their followers to show up at 5 PM for the 7 PM event, to “make sure that the most powerful voices in this debate are those calling for real reform, not angrily clamoring for the status quo.”
Unfortunately for them, they were met by between 20 or 30 conservatives who arrived even earlier, yours truly included.
The gates were not to open until 6 PM and the line grew back out into the parking lot. Several Obama followers came with professionally made signs or those printed off of Organizing for America’s email.
A table was set up inside the gates entrance for registering to ask question. A group that had been milling around went in, identified as “volunteers,” although not one Republican was included in that group.
No signs were allowed in the auditorium, causing boxes of signs to be left outside the gate.
While the line was, for the most part, orderly, there were a couple Dem activists there who did try to incite trouble with bullhorns.
One, a Black lady passing out pro-Obamascare literature, tried to provoke confrontations, several times stepping very close to me as I handed out my flyers and eventually, following a man who brushed passed her after she stepped in his way, screaming in her bullhorn, and in his ear, that he shoved her and she wanted Police to arrest him.
Obviously a paid professional activist, if not an ACORN member.
Nothing came of it and seeing my wife starring at her, she began her bullhorn act again, right in my wife’s face.
Organizing for America met an unexpected flop as they set up their gazebo to give out professional signs in support. But with no signs allowed, they wasted their time trying to overpower this townhall.
Too bad, so sad.
Another supporter claiming to be a Viet Nam Veteran, tried to confront me for not supporting VA Healthcare for all and who seemed to be offended that I said he and I earned our VA Healthcare benefit. His wife stepped and got in my face to let me have it, informing me that her husband was alive due to VA Healthcare.
I lowered my head allowing her to see my Viet Nam Veteran hat and even her husband let her know that I was not the run of the mill conservative they could yell down easily.
Not too surprisingly, shortly before 7, I decided to walk through the lot just to see license plates, discovering a couple dozen Oregon Plates in the first 4 rows. I did not check on the 6 or 7 more rows back, but would bet money there was dozens more. No buses, though, that I saw.
Inside, questions were randomly chosen and were not pre-selected, as some have said they were. In all, 37 people were selected to ask their questions.
The first two were fairly softball in nature, but many others weren’t.
Of the first in support, single payer or a public option was mentioned as essential. One Dem woman made more of a speech than a question, exceeding her 3 minute limit and stating it was obscene that a CEO should be paid $6,000 an hour.
Another male complained about $900 a month insurance premiums, but then stated he was in a Union, destroying any credibility he might have had with the claim.
Several Veterans rose up and let Baird know they weren’t too pleased with his conduct of late, especially the ‘brown shirt’ comments. Baird sasid he was wrong and had apologized for it, but others still rose up to scold him over that.
One Marine rose mentioning the parenting skill section of the Pelosi bill and told Baird to “keep your hands off of my kids!” He received a standing ovation from the better than 2 to 1 conservative audience.
Several expressed distrust of the government with one stating he had taken an oath to protect and defend the constitution and was doing just that. He ended asking Baird when would he begin upholding the constitution.
I’d say the bulk of questions Baird was asked were against the Obamascare plan, but give Baird credit for being a slick politician and deflecting some, just not answering others.
The audience was loud at times, but mostly just with disagreement with a claim in an answer, occasionally in agreement. No violence for the 11 O’Clock news, although I saw both KGW 8 and KOIN 6 news crews there and also Eric the Great from KPAM 860 AM radio’s Victoria Taft, who was doing a live feed from the Amphitheater.
KATU also covered the event live.
5 Minutes from the end of the event, one Dem stood up and grabbed the microphone to yell out “single payer for all,” but left right after, the event close to being over anyway.
The audience expressed their anger with the proposed plan and Baird’s poor comments a couple weeks ago, but did not get out of hand. Baird had to face angry constituents, but was not threatened
Many properly scolded him, expressing our anger, frustration and fear of this socialist takeover robbing us of our liberties.
Did he listen and take our words and anger to heart?
Most likely not.
Come November 2010, Baird needs to be put in the unemployment line so we can elect someone who will actually represent our best interests.
CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, my profound apologies. You expected another out of control townhall with confrontations and maybe violence.
Even your paid goons could not incite it.

Conservative Columnist Robert Novak Passes Away at 78
Conservative columnist and former CNN "Crossfire" host Robert Novak passed away today of cancer, his family has announced. He was 78 years old.
Novak was at the center of the Valerie Plame affair for being the columnist who published her name and later revealed, after gaining permission from the source, to reveal that it was Richard Armitage who mentioned her to him.
He stepped down from his position with CNN some time ago due to his being diagnosed with cancer.
May he rest in peace.
I extend sympathies and condolences to his family and loved ones.

A Life Thrown Away
40 years ago America was deeply divided, torn asunder by forces the country didn’t even know it was dealing with. War raged in Viet Nam, American Blacks were still fighting for their Civil Rights won earlier in the 1960’s, struggling for an identity in what many of them perceived as a “White man’s world,” and a hippie sub-culture was growing, along with the drug culture and “free love” attitude associated with it.
The country, much like today, was tearing at the seams as everybody decided they had a better way. Revolution was in the air and many were acting out violently against traditional America.
In the midst of all that, pure evil reared its head in Los Angeles as the Manson Family went on a short but gruesome and brutal murder spree, throwing the city into near panic.
Not all followers of the cult took part in the murders and after the convictions and death sentences were handed down, many scattered to all corners, some still mesmerized by Charles Manson and others realizing how mislead they had been by this purely evil person.
How this purely evil persona could poison the minds of young people as he did, convincing such moldable youth that he was some sort of god and convince them to murder people so brutally, including a pregnant Sharon Tate, then use their own blood to write messages of hate inside their homes, is something that I cannot fathom.
I am the same age as many of those young people and looked upon the same world they did, held many of the same worries and maybe even wanted many of the same things. We all did.
They drifted to drugs, mayhem and a false messiah.
I joined the United States Army.
Those directly involved in the murderous spree were tried, convicted and sentenced to death, which was commuted to life imprisonment after the US Supreme Court ruled death penalties were unconstitutional in 1972.
Various other members of the Manson Family drifted away after the trials, some never heard from again, some still carrying on in other crimes less notable, but one relatively unknown at the time, was to become almost as notorious as those who carried out Manson’s order for murder.
That one, Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme, an innocent looking waif of a girl made headlines for the group in 1975 when she approached President Gerald Ford with a 45 Automatic Pistol in her hand, pointed right at him. Only later was it learned she did not have a round chambered, although it had a 4 bullets in the magazine. Secret Service Agents did their jobs and took her down immediately, understandably assuming an assassination attempt.
Hidden behind that youthful appearance of innocence was the heart of a very disturbed young woman who would fall prey to Charles Manson, posing for nude photo’s that Manson used to entice some members of an Aryan Brotherhood to protect him in prison and who would camp outside the court with others during the trials.
She was a girl my age, just a few weeks younger, who grew up in a home with privileges I could only dream of in my own youth.
In High School, she drifted into drugs and booze, but graduated. She left home, but returned when her father paid her way into a Community College, which didn’t last. Moving out again, she and Manson ‘found’ each other and the family began and grew, ultimately leading to the murders.
I recall seeing of her in the news for the first time right after her arrest for the run-in with President Ford and thought even then, why would such an innocent looking young woman go down that road? Such sad eyes and a peculiar cuteness in her physical appearance than many guys I knew would have warmed to.
It all hid a malicious heart, as her biography today shows.
At 27 years of age, Lynette received a life sentence for her acts. She had a couple run-ins while in prison. She escaped once for two days in 1987, adding to her time before parole. She even turned down opportunities to go before the parole board and was denied parole the last time.
Today, August 14, 2009 she walked out of prison, a drawn 60 year-old woman still drawn to Manson as far as any one knows.
No husband. No children and of course, no grandchildren to greet her and take her home. No fond memories of children growing up, giving birth to their own children, building a life and a home together, just memories of a lifetime of prison walls and before that, life on a decrepit ranch in the California desert with the Manson family, both of which are also gone today.
Could she possibly feel it was worth it? Her involvement with a pure evil person like Charles Manson? Spending her early adulthood in crimes, taking advantage of people who mistook her look of innocence for a sweet person, only to cause them hurt?
A human life, thrown away and wasted.
What now for Lynette?
Only time will tell, but the facade of sweet innocence is forever gone, replaced by the look of a drawn old lady with nothing to show for a life and undeserving of sympathy.
She threw it away before it even had a chance to begin.

Americans Deserve to Know What’s Happening to Their Nation’s Defense

In today’s changing security environment, America faces many different types of threats. Nearby North Korea regularly fires missiles in the direction of our West Coast while our soldiers fight a long fight of inches against insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, we should never become numb to these threats and conflicts, letting down our guard; we should always remember that without a strong national defense, we simply will not survive as a free nation.
It is the duty of every generation – both civilians and those in uniform – to uphold our nation’s liberties and to see to its defense. As a civilian that once proudly served my country in the U.S. Navy, I am constantly reminded of our duty to stay informed, make our voice heard in government, and vote.
With that in mind, I am deeply concerned with what’s happening in Washington with regard to our nation’s defenses. Why? Because President Obama is recklessly cutting our defense budget in a time of war.
The President’s 2010 defense budget request is for $534 billion. And while some might simply look at President Bush’s 2009 budget of $515 billion and conclude that Obama is asking for an increase, they should look more closely. If war supplemental spending for both Presidents are added, we find that the 2010 Obama budget totals $30 billion less than President Bush’s overall 2009 budget of $647 billion. That’s right, a $30 billion cut in a time of war.
And these spending cuts won’t come from government efficiencies or eliminating waste. In fact, President Obama and Democrats in Congress are degrading the current military advantages we enjoy over land, at sea, and in the air by cutting capabilities.
For instance, cuts to the F-18 Super Hornet are endangering the capabilities of our naval forces by creating a dangerous fighter aircraft shortfall. Multi-purpose F-35 fighters have run into significant delays, and won’t be delivered until 2015 at the earliest. Meanwhile, the administration and Democrats in Congress have failed to purchase enough proven F-18 Super Hornets to make a gaping fighter jet shortfall of at least 200 aircraft – four aircraft carriers worth. While the argument is that
the Hornet will be replaced with the carrier version of the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the truth is that the F-35 is not a replacement, but a compliment to the F-18. Democrats could easily solve the problem by purchasing more F-18’s now, but they’ve stubbornly refused.
In addition, the Democratic-dominated Congress has just eliminated the most dominating fighter ever produced, the F-22 Raptor. Again, the excuse for cutting the F-22 is that the Air Force version of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter will be coming online. But again, the F-35 is not a replacement for the far more capable F-22, but a
compliment to it and it is more than two years behind schedule. With Russia and
China taking an adversarial stance against the United States, siding with countries like Iran and the aforementioned North Korea that are threatening American interests, does it make sense to eliminate the one aircraft that is capable of penetrating the most sophisticated air defenses?
Our missile defenses are also on the chopping block, with ground-based anti-ballistic
missile systems being cut just as they are showing the most promise. With North
Korea threatening Hawaii and the West Coast by testing nuclear bombs as well as
ballistic missiles with ranges of 4,000 miles, does this make sense?
From my time in basic training with the Navy I remember well the mission: defeat any threats to the continued free use of the high seas by the United States. This high mission requires constant vigilance, at peace or at war. Staying on the cutting edge of military capability on land, sea and air is the best way to deter our adversaries from aggressive action against America and her allies. Is this not worth our generation’s time and treasure as we fulfill our duty to protect our nation’s freedom?

Constituents Snubbed By Baird, Unions Get Stealth Town Hall

Knowing that the media all over America has been reporting that Congressman Brian Baird had to “cancel” plans to hold Town Hall meetings with constituents over a “death threat” allegedly faxed to Baird, it was a bit perplexing to be notified this morning of a call that went out to selected members of the WA Federation of State Employees Union, urging to show up to a “meeting” to be held in Cowlitz County, Thursday, Aug 13 from 2 PM to 4 PM, that would be a face-to-face with Congressman Baird.
Baird has said in regards to face-to-face town hall meeting with constituents, “What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics,” and “There is this national movement in blogs and on the Internet to go to town hall meetings solely to attack people.” He went on to say, “live meetings will ‘probably resume’ in September or October,” in an interview with the Columbian.
Since Clark County constituents were treated to a hastily set up tele-conference Friday, August 7, with a very last minute notification going out to some, it piqued my interest to read of Union members being invited to meet with in a face-to-face meeting with a couple days notice.
I found it especially curious, as Representative Baird had indicated fear for his life due to the death threat allegedly faxed to him, but so far, it has been only Union thugs that have physically attacked and beaten people at town halls.
Searching for any announcement of the meeting, I was directed to the August 11 edition of the Longview Daily News and the article, Federal lawmakers to get report from Mount St. Helens panel which announces,
“Swanson said Friday he didn’t believe public comment would be taken at Thursday’s event, but it is open to the public. The meeting is only scheduled for one hour, making a public comment session unlikely.”
“Thursday’s meeting is at 2 p.m. in the Cowlitz County Expo and Conference Center, 1900 Seventh Ave., Longview.”
That certainly doesn’t sound like much of a meeting to stack it with supporters, especially with the email notifying those selected members saying,
“Spread the word & come if you can.... btw, this is NOT a health-care event (though it wouldn't surprise me if there was protesting going on). Come out in your green shirt & hear what your Congressman & Senators have to say!”
Looking around the WA Federation of State Employees web site I found,
A number of town hall meetings are scheduled in coming weeks. While Congress is home on vacation, make sure they hear from you about health care reform. Attend an event in your area with your Members of Congress to show that we need health care reform and we need it now. It would be very good to counter the anti-health care reform rhetoric at these Town Halls. To see the schedule in your area and to download resources you can use, go to www.wfse.org > Action Center.
You’ve seen the news reports showing the shouting matches at these town hall meetings, some from legitimate frustration, but a lot orchestrated by big business and the big insurance companies. You need to make your voice heard so the call for affordable health insurance isn’t drowned out by the greed of the insurance companies.
One important town hall meeting is set this Thursday in Longview.
Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell and Representative Baird are scheduled to be in Longview on Thursday to speak on local issues. This was not scheduled as a health care event, but opponents of health care reform are targeting this meeting as a platform for their message.
We need AFSCME health care reform ADVOCATES in the house. Please try to attend!

This is the same location, same day and same time the Daily Times tells us the three will be in Cowlitz to receive a simple report, in a one-hour meeting. Surely they cannot be in more than one place at one time, so it appears the public announcement went out in the very bottom of a article filled with deflective words, possibly to discourage public attendance, seeing just another boring meeting over nothing too important.
Yet, OAF and WFSE are sending out invites to stack a town hall type event that all 3 will be at, showing any media invited how the citizens of southwest Washington support this healthcare reform when they televise it later on.
Baird champions himself as an advocate of his constituents, yet we are snubbed when it comes to meeting with him face-to-face to discuss such an important matter as totally revamping our healthcare industry under near complete government control. We that were lucky enough to get through last Friday were entitled to ask a question over the phone and only those fortunate enough to be listening in were able to hear the answers given.
And now we see that Baird, along with Murray, Cantwell, OAF and WFSE seem to be conspiring to hold a stealth townhall on healthcare that will most assuredly will be shown afterwards as a big win for Democrats, when voices of opposition will not be present, not knowing what was really going on.
If this is not a deliberate attempt to set-up a favorable town hall for display, then these people are inept and should not be trusted running out healthcare system.
This is not an “advocate of the people,” but a career politician ponying up to special interest money for support
I can’t really say I’m shocked, but clearly, Brian Baird needs to be replaced in November 2010.
With the challengers running, to replace Baird, he has shown a complete lack of regard for voters in Washington’s Third Congressional District with favoring special interests.

Brian Baird Hiding Out From Death Threats, You Say?
Now that we have seen the fax in poor taste that keeps Washington State 3rd District Congressman Brian Baird from standing before his constituents, and has the leftosphere in a tizzy, smelling blood in the water, one wonders how it is the following were mostly looked upon as not serious and no real threat.
Then of course, there is also Kill Bush Game,and
George Bush Hatred with one flash showing Bush with a noose around his neck.
A search of YouTube for "Kill Bush" brought back several videos and audios with very strong language unsuitable for this blog.
Odd thing is, I don't recall George W. Bush ever using any of the above to hide out from constituents.
Congressman Baird, as a fellow Democrat is so often quoted, "if you can't stand, the heat then get out of the kitchen."
More Leftist Lies, From SEIU
We've all seen the video of Kenneth Gladney, the Black man selling 'Don't Tread On Me' flags outside the town hall in St. Louis and the beating he endured by members of the SEIU, resulting in the arrests of some Union goons.
Unbelievably, the SEIU on the blog site posted a heavily doctored video, showing them being "peaceful" and opposers to Obamacare "out of control." What is remarkable and a bald faced lie, is in that video, they include footage of their members beating Gladney and claiming he is a "Reverend at a local Baptist Church and a member of SEIU local 2000."
Unfortunately for them, those assaulting Mr. Gladney can clearly been seen wearing SEIU T-shirts.
If any doubt about Mr. Gladney's position, he was on Fox News explaining what happened to him and later appeared at a St. Louis protest, speaking through his attorney.
SEIU Lies
Lie after lie after lie. If they have to resort to beating people, lying through their teeth and manipulating citizens, can this "reform" really be any good for us?
Don't forget, Andy Stern of the SEIU said in response to a question on “organizing philosophy,” “We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn’t work we use the persuasion of power.”
Democrats Just Won’t Stop Lying
For 8 years we all saw how the Democratic Cartel in power today lied about, fearmongered and totally misrepresented Republicans and the Bush administration. Since seizing dictatorial control of the government this has increased, not decreased.
In two previous posts, Democrats, STOP THE LIES! and Who Is Really Orchestrating?, I mentioned some examples and showed how organized efforts in this healthcare reform fiasco is them, not the ones they accuse.
It was shown on a national level how they misrepresented and blew a memo from a small Connecticut Libertarian group of less than 20 people into a major Republican coordinated effort. And still, the coordinated Democrat lies keep coming.
In last few days I have received numerous emails claiming how it is Republicans disrupting town halls and perpetrating violence, when in actuality it is the Union thugs sent by Democrats doing such. Inciting comments in those emails are as follows,
Received from Paul Begala on July 27, “The Republican attacks on health care are getting downright scary. And I mean literally.
One Republican says that now is the time to "go for the kill" on health insurance reform and even "drive a stake through its heart." Another one talks about making it President Obama's "Waterloo" and adding that "it will break him." Jeez. These guys sound like they're living inside a bad horror movie.”
From Mitch Stewart of Organizing for America, received on July 29, “You've probably seen the headlines: Opponents of change are doing everything they can to delay health insurance reform. As a Republican strategy memo concluded, "If we slow this sausage-making process down, we can defeat it,"” referring to the now infamous Libertarian memo to 10 people.
On July 29, the DCCC’s John Vogel said, “Today the Republicans launched an early assault to try and stop President Obama's progress on health care reform. It's also bigger than we were expecting. Republicans are now spending $1 million of special interest money on campaign activities attacking Democrats who support President Obama on health care reform.
Their rhetoric is also reaching absurd new levels. One House Republican said that health care reform will cause seniors to be "put to death by their government."”
August 3 brought from Bill Clinton, through the DCCC, “But, just as I did in 1993, President Obama has run into a buzz saw of special interest opposition to his top domestic policy priority -- health care reform. He is facing off against some of the most powerful special interests in Washington who've launched a furious campaign to preserve the status quo.”
On August 5, signed by Barack Obama, “There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we've got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.
That's why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act.
But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support.”
Again from John Vogel and received August 6, “Republicans wanted a fight on health insurance reform this summer? Thanks to you, they're about to get more than they bargained for.
It's getting hard to keep track of all the truth-twisting attacks by the Republicans in their drive to preserve the status quo for big health insurance companies. That's why the DCCC has launched HealthCareFactCheck.com, to expose these false attacks.”
Also on August 6, Vogel sent out, “At a time when families are looking for solutions to rebuild the economy and make health care more affordable, Rush Limbaugh is attempting to sidetrack the important debate through his use of symbols that are synonymous with murder, intolerance and genocide.”
August 10 saw Mitch Stewart send out, “Members of Congress have been home for just a few days, and they're already facing increased pressure from insurance companies, special interests, and partisan attack organizations that are spending millions to block health insurance reform.
These groups are using scare tactics and spreading smears about the President's plan for reform, trying to incite constituents into lashing out at their representatives and disrupting their events.
The goal of these disruptions is for a few people to get a lot of media attention and hijack the entire public discourse.”
August 10, David Axelrod of the White House staff sent, “Anyone that's watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic - and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it's time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.”
August 10 also saw Moveon.org’s Nita Chaudary email, “Right-wing extremists have been crashing tons of events and trying to dominate the national debate. But MoveOn members won't let them succeed-we're pushing back with Real Voices for Change, an ambitious campaign to show that the overwhelming majority of Americans continue to support President Obama's plans for change.”
Uh, if they really had the support they claim, would they have to resort to such cries for support?
You’ll note too, there is no mention of Nancy Pelosi calling those of us concerned Nazi’s, un-American and no mention of just last week, Washington State’s Brian Baird referring to us “Brown shirt’s” with a “lynch mob mentality.”
The Obama administration and is Democratic cartel have publicly called upon the SEIU, the Service Employees International Union, to appear at town halls to “counter” concerned citizens who question the proposed healthcare changes being shoved down our throats.
Andy Stern of the SEIU, in response to their “organizing philosophy” says,
“We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn’t work we use the persuasion of power.”
Just ask Kenneth Gladney, the Black man in St. Louis who members of the SEIU viciously attacked and beat last week about the effectiveness of the SEIU’s “organizing philosophy.”
Those that either oppose or speak of legitimate concerns on this proposed legislation that would grab one sixth of our economy have gone over the parts of the bill that have been made public. They have picked out troubling aspects and presented their arguments and concerns by quoting the actual bill by page and paragraph number.
The Democratic cartel sends in the goons and emails false claims to let you know you are too dumb to read.
If this bill is as good as they claim and will do as much to better people as they say, two points come to mind.
1. Why don’t they do as the concerned citizens do and counter concerns by quoting page and paragraph number as well, showing us the actual benefit or lay to rest concerns we have?
2. Why are they unwilling to place their families and selves on it first?
Perhaps those opposed to it, middle class Americans, not the special interest corporations the neo-coms claim, are on to something.
Perhaps individuals showing up en masse at town halls and who angrily speak up really are angry at how we are treated and disrespected as the Democratic cabal manipulates us into surrendering our liberties and freedoms to them?
Perhaps we need to speak up louder and tell these Democrats where to put their socialist agenda!

Who Is Really Orchestrating?
I was a little less than surprised to receive from Obama's Organizing for America the following,

say that reform matters to you.
We'll provide everything you need: the address, phone number, and open hours for the office, information about how the health care crisis affects your state for you to drop off (with the option of adding your personal story), and a step-by-step guide for your visit.

As you've probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it's getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can't let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.
Office Visits for Health Reform are our chance to show that the vast majority of American voters know that the cost of inaction is too high to bear, and strongly support passing health reform in 2009.
Don't worry if you've never done anything like this before. The congressional staff is there to listen, and your opinion as a constituent matters a lot. And if you bring a friend, you'll have more fun and make an even greater impact.

Wherever you live, these visits matter: Many representatives are pushing hard toward reform, and they are taking a lot of heat from special interests. They deserve our thanks and need our support to continue the fight. But those who are still putting insurance companies and partisan point-scoring ahead of their constituents must know that voters are watching -- and that we expect better.
Earlier this week, the President wrote that "this is the moment our movement was built for" and asked us all to commit to join at least one event this month. This is the way to answer that call, and rise to the challenge of this moment together.

I am really left wondering, just what is this "movement" in the statement, "this is the moment our movement was built for."
Are we not all American citizens now? Just what is this "movement" designed to do to our beloved country? Did he not take an oath to "faithfully protect and defend the constitution fo the United States" for all, not just his "movement?"
Mostly out of curiosity, I visited Organizing for America to see just how they were orchestrating visits to congresscritters. The two pages below are what I found there. Bear in mind, it is something un-American now to draw people to your point of view if a Republican.

Note on page 1 that they will give you step by step instruction on your visit with your congresscritter and supply you with needed information to make their view, oops, sorry, your view, known.
On page 2 next to the block to enter your phone number, you read (so that an organizer can follow up with you.)
Don't they trust that you would conduct the visit in the proper manner, as per their instructions?
And what if you didn't? Do you get scolded? Told to repeat the visit and do it right this time? Will you be expected to rat out the congresscritter he/she doesn't jump on board? Wouldn't reporting him to flag@whitehouse.gov accomplish that as well?
I am left wondering if their position is so weak that they must resort to leading people around by the nose and putting words and thoughts in their mouth to drum up support for this.
I have to tell you, Obama gets scarier and scarier all the time and, we are only a little over 200 days into this regime.
