Why Baird Was Told "Stay Away From My Kids"

By now I am sure the majority of the nation has viewed the video of a Marine named David telling off Washington State Congressman Brian Baird and his angry comment, “ Stay away from my kids.

It was my honor to have been present and in the audience of some 2800 citizens to witness David’s confrontation of our congressman.

David was rightfully angered by the recent action of congressman Baird’s, as is seen in his confronting Congressman Baird.

David alluded to an earlier comment on parenting that did not set well with neither him nor a lot of the audience.

Below is what congressman Baird had to say earlier in the town hall to another Veteran named Jeff, who also expressed his displeasure not only with congressman Baird, but with both of our Major Political Parties.

It was Jeff who brought out the provision to fund and set-up “home visitation programs” to educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills. Take note of Baird’s poor attempt at justifying government supplied information on parenting.

Please note, I have edited out portions of Jeff's question and congressman Baird's reply unrelated to the question on "home visitation programs."

As parents-to-be, we are inundated by "information" when we schedule visits with the obstetrician (whose waiting room is filled with dozens of parenting magazines, as well) given by the staff. We are given more bags full of stuff at the hospital when we deliver.

When my oldest was born 18 years ago, I left the hospital with bags of stuff weighing more than my child - and again when my second was born nearly 15 years ago and 5 years ago when my third was born.

When my fourth child arrived 4 years ago, I was literally stalked by the hospital social worker and not allowed to check my child out until I spoke with her - I was told because he was "special needs" (6 weeks premature and profoundly Deaf), although my daughter born 11 months before him was ALSO "special needs," with hearing impairment as well. It mattered not that I was close with our pediatrician and she authorized discharge, we were NOT leaving that hospital with that child until we were properly "vetted" by the social worker.

And this was all BEFORE Obamacare. What's going to happen in 2 or 3 weeks when I enter the hospital again for my 5th delivery? A Waco-like (or maybe FDLS) attack on my person?

Brian Baird...isn't he the one that sort of went along with the Iraq War?

Anyway, the guy's a slug.

Angie, I'm just glad my kids were raised before this amount of state interference began. It was bad enough as it was.

SR, yes, Baird came out in support of the surge, after voting against every other portion of the Iraqi Theater in the War.

I think the thing that irritated me and my husband most was.... we KNOW our child is Deaf, kind of expected and not surprised by that fact, we have OTHER Deaf children, *HE* is Deaf and so is his entire family and they have been for generations.... but they felt the need to hold us hostage to make sure we knew we needed to follow up with the ENT? DUH.... it was a guy I worked for and the appt. was set up before my son was even released from the hospital (having been a preemie, he obviously didn't leave right away anyhow). She couldn't be bothered to ask about that, though, or about the fact that we already had him enrolled in Birth-to-3 with the same gal who was ALREADY seeing us for our other "broken" children - all set up before he was even a week old!

Yeah, she had to make sure she got that in there, whether we knew about cochlear implants (cuz Deaf are BROKEN and need to be fixed, ya know?).
