Yes Mr. Obama, We Can Wait

There is a story circulating of two little girls running to be elected president of their 3rd Grade Class. One girl speaks before the class with several good ideas on how class time could be improved and how she could lead the class to learn more. The second little girl stands up and promises all of the kids’ free ice cream, with no regard for who will deliver it, who will pay for it, what flavors or anything. The second little girl wins by a landslide when votes are counted.

In a nutshell, that is how many incumbents from Washington D.C. campaign and end up being reelected, promising things that no one questions the how, why or where it comes from, especially when their polls numbers indicate the likelihood of losing office after one term.

Currently we see Barack Obama nearing the end of his first term and not enjoying a significant lead in the polls, often trailing slightly as in the August 20, 2012 Rasmussen Daily Tracking poll, promising ice cream all over the country. Be it an executive order to stop deportations of some illegal aliens, promises of a special African-American education office and any myriad of promises if only the people reelect him, the promise of free ice cream for votes is flowing from his campaign.

Even locally, Obama has now signed an executive order adding the Columbia River Crossing as “one of several transportation projects to be expedited by his ‘We Can’t Wait’ initiative.”

As could be expected, local media is all a twitter at the news as they now think the very controversial boondoggle will now be fast tracked, forgetting that in 2008, then President George W. Bush signed a similar executive order with big promises that also amounted to nothing as in spite of over $140 Million being drained down the dark hole of the CRC, other than stack of official looking papers, there is nothing to show for it.

The Coast Guard still has not approved the design that remains far too low to accommodate river traffic. Neither Oregon nor Washington state legislature has approved a dime for construction. There has been no funding for light rail operations & maintenance approved and there is a good chance the planned sale tax increase to be voted on this November may be defeated.

But Obama is promising supporters of the CRC endless ice cream with no concept of where it will come from, who pays for it or even who delivers it.

Both Oregon and Washington are strong Blue States and unlikely to change any time soon. So why he would feel the need to make such empty promises to gain votes in the Pacific Northwest remain unclear. Perhaps he feels the need to solidify votes amongst supporters here.

Regardless of reason, he has promised the ice cream and supporters are ecstatic, forgetting this is just another pandering moment unlikely to make any difference at all in a star for construction.

“We Can’t Wait” must rank right up there with “Too Big to Fail” and likely will end with the same results, $Trillions more in debt, a few union jobs created at most, taxpayers and future generations on the hook paying for it indefinitely and powerful special interest groups awash in taxpayer money.

Along with this will likely come more government control over our everyday lives as the only way any of it can work is by government intervention in Americans lives.

Elected office holders continue to ignore past votes where light rail was overwhelmingly defeated by voters and have stated that the funding will come somewhere if that happens this November, but have not explained from where.

Even in Oregon, Clackamas County to be more specific, taxpayers are fighting Portland’s financially failing light rail just as we in Clark County are. They too have a measure on their coming ballot to force voter approval of funding “before officials can spend money to finance, design, construct or operate any rail lines in the county.”

Clackamas County Commissioners now say if the measure passes, they will add an emergency amendment to fund it anyway, declaring the measure applies only to future light rail plans.

Politicians who have decided they may ignore the wishes of the governed need to go and be replaced by elected representatives who will actually listen to the people and not the special interests that stand to collect a lot of taxpayer money forcing what we do not want to pay for on us.

Incumbents like Clark County Commissioner Marc Boldt and 49th Legislative District’s Sharon Wylie and Jim Moeller in this year’s election and Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt in next year’s election must be voted out.

Incumbents that have shown themselves receptive to constituents, such as Clark County Commissioner Tom Mielke and 17th Legislative District Senator Don Benton are in tight races against well funded supporters of the CRC ‘Big Mess’ and need your support to continue working on our behalf.

Challengers like Joe Tanner, running against Commissioner Mielke, promise more ignoring constituents wishes to force CRC and light rail on us, whether we approve of it or not.

Jim Moeller is being challenged by Carolyn Crain while Ms. Wylie is being challenged by Debbie Peterson, both challenger well versed on what this boondoggle will cost and prepared to actually get answers long hidden from the public.

In the seat held now by Marc Boldt, successful businessman David Madore is more that up for the job of replacing Boldt who has forgotten his conservative base to join in with those who don’t care what we think.

Don Benton is being challenged by Tim Probst, another strong supporter who is well funded by special interests.

Also in the 49th, Senator Craig Pridemore who also was a strong voice in support of CRC is calling it quits with Democrat Annette Cleveland, well funded by special interests and unions in support of the ‘Big Mess” an Republican Eileen Qutub, a former legislator from Oregon who believes in listening to her constituents over special interests.

These people and more will need to be elected before we can begin to unravel just where our tax dollars continue to disappear too.

And it goes without saying that Barack Obama with all of his free ice cream for all promises must not see a second term.

We have our work cut out for us, but if Newsweek can wake up and run a cover story of “Hit the Road Barack,” surely others can wake up to how we are being dictated to and plunged deeper and deeper into debt.

If anything merits “we can’t wait,” it would be the November election that will hopefully see Barack Obama and some local incumbents heading for the unemployment line.

Veterans: Standing Up For the Troops and America

The 2004 elections saw what can happen when retired Veterans band together to expose one of their own standing on a false image as a hero when they are anything but. We know them as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, later changed to the Swift boat Veterans and POWs for truth as a group of dedicated former Prisoners of war joined them to expose Massachusetts then junior Senator, John F’in Kerry, noted for bugging out of Vietnam after a brief time in country, fabricating as much as he could for a chest full of unearned medals to stand on for future political causes.

In spite of continual criticisms, attacks and demeaning coverage from the Jurassic Media and false allegations of being a Republican front group, the guys prevailed in exposing Kerry for the poseur he is and for his anti-military antics in the early 1970’s, including a lengthy so-called testimony before the Fulbright Commission where he lied through his teeth about our efforts in Vietnam, throwing Vietnam Veterans under the bus. Vietnam Veterans who returned the favor in 2004 by opposing his candidacy by as high as 80% of us.

Shortly after Kerry’s defeat, the Jurassic Media did coin the phrase “swift boating” as a pejorative, but it is anything but to an honest person meaning “To reveal the essence of a defective person. To reveal an inconvenient truth a politician desires to keep hidden.”

Once again, aging Veterans, fed up with seeing the leakage of sensitive material crucial to the safety and well-being of our Troops deployed overseas engaging terrorists, have come together to speak out and expose the leaker in chief, Barack Obama, who seems to have no convictions on protecting our deployed troops as long as he can build a false image of being a strong war-time leader, even though he last campaigned on ending the wars and took credit for following the Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq and withdrawing the Troops in December 2011, as was negotiated between President George W. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

This latest group, Special Operations Speaks or SOS for short, is founded by Larry Bailey, CAPT (SEAL), USN (Ret.) founder of Vietnam Veterans for Truth, Colonel Richard F. (“Dick”) Brauer Jr. USAF, (Ret) and with Brigadier General Joseph S. Stringham, US Army (Ret.) serving currently as the Chief Executive Officer.

Their intent is listed as

“We, as veterans, legatees, and supporters of the Special Operations communities of all the Armed Forces, have noted with dismay and deep alarm the recent stream of highly damaging leaks of information about various aspects of America’s shadow war in the overall War on Terror. Our principles are the same as when we were in active service — Duty, Honor, Country.”

This is not the Swift boat Vets returning as they stood down shortly after the 2004 defeat of Kerry and once seeing Kerry was not to run again in 2008, disbanded their group.

But, this is a group of Veterans who also stood opposed to Kerry becoming President due to his post Vietnam actions against Veterans.

This is a new group of Veterans seeing the dangers we face as Obama uses our Troops and sensitive material on their missions to bolster a political image while ignoring the need for their mission as well as their well-being while deployed in harm’s way.


They claim to be “already working with key Senate and House leaders to demand full congressional hearings into the Obama intelligence leaks while working to “make sure the American people learn the full truth about Barack Obama's war on America's military.”

But like any Special Ops Mission, they require support. They not only need donations to fund “a nationwide media blitz,” but are calling on us to stand with them and speak out through Operation Street Corner with materials that can be obtained or downloaded from the groups site at the link.

Time is short to fulfill this mission of stopping Obama while we can. We only have about 2 and a half months left before the election and the Jurassic Media is doing their best to protect the false image of Obama.

It’s time we joined together to stop this ‘War on the Military’ being waged by Obama.

Unhinged Leftist Radio Host Melts Down Over Chick-fil-A Support

Mike Malloy, so unhinged that Air America dumped him before they collapsed, went on a childish rant on a recent program over Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, where citizens of all walks poured into the restaurants to show support for the chain presidents free speech.

Maybe the fact that Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day set records for sales on the day has Malloy’s knickers in a twist or his mommy put too much starch his boxers again. But he is indicative of the mindset seen far too often as the left resorts to inane tantrums to continue the destruction of Traditional American families and values.

It's an “our way or the highway” mentality designed to bully the country into what a fringe element demands, with no regard for others or the reasons behind traditional long-standing societal norms that kept society safe an beneficial for the overall majority of people.

Unable to provide any examples of the bettering of society by their demanded changes, they have become the bully on the block demanding every body’s lunch money on the way to school.

A recent Huffington Post article shows the weak-minded position many leftists take. The article is interviews with homosexual employees of Chick-fil-A. In spite of comments on never being subjected to disrespect or treated badly by Chick-fil-A, the one who said a trainer at a training session made a comment of disgust seeing two men kissing resulted in the trainers being fired, the call is still a wish for their employer to go out of business.

I guess the thought that it is their paychecks being thrown away doesn’t enter their mind.

There is much anger because the company’s president, a staunch Baptist, believes in traditional marriage and donates to causes supporting traditional marriage. For that expression of free thought and support, homosexuals and leftists demand the chain be put out of business, which would throw thousands of people out of work.

In the meantime, companies like Amazon.com, Microsoft and others whose wealthy leftist owners donate millions of dollars to pro-homosexual marriage groups is lauded and free from large scale protests and calls for execution as we have seen towards Chick-fil-A.

Worse yet is we see the vitriol thrown towards those who are calling for upholding the very religious freedom our first amendment guarantees us.

This is nothing more than the bullying tactics we have seen from the left and many Democrats for some time now. There is no interest in compromise from their side, no middle ground sought, no concern for the over well being of America.

No, it’s just a push to thrust an agenda on us with absolutely no regard to the laws of unintended consequences.
